I am new both as Android developer as posting a question in this forum.

It is my first Android project and I am getting a lot of warnnings with FD_SETSIZE issue when running my simple application throw emulator.

I guess the solution may be increase FD_SETSIZE but I didn't find where neither what exactly is the reason for such need.

Has anyone faced similar logs when emulating the app with Android Studio? Mine is the recent version 4.0.

Honestly, I don't understand why so many ESTABLISHED connections related to port 5037 but I guess it is normal

Hello all, I am not sure where to post this, but I have Lark FreeMe X4 9 inch tablet what seems to come with 'custom' Lark firmware, it has not been used for at least 2 years and idea is to revive it enough so it can be used to watch youtube videos for my mother, maybe light browsing.

The issue is it has only 512MB RAM, it runs Android 4.4.4 and each tap takes few seconds to do...
I did a factory reset and it did not help much, I think it might be an issue with the firmware also (after reset it seems to be partially in Polish when language is set as English because why not) also it have usual random not deletable apps what come with it

It takes about 6 seconds to open play store, most of the time screen is stuck as black or white, does seem to crash time by time (the app itself), youtube video is going in like 2 frames per second unless setting as 240 then it is ok-ish.

Can someone suggest something to make it a bit better or maybe there it's some custom firmware that I can put on it to replace manufacturer one as I do not really care about warranty anymore?

I just backup my stock ROM using GSM Aladdin (using the read flash feature also i ticked save as scatter) and it completed successfully so i went to the folder where it was saved (something like MT6580xxx) and i saw .bin files like boot , system , preloader etc
So my point is they are all .bin files (excluding the scatter.txt)
And i want to flash that to my phone using sp flash tool so do i need to make the .bin files to .img files or can i use directly? ? Or is there any other step needed ? Please help

I read good things about Signal video/text conversations/messages, its security, privacy and ease of use. I was about to try it until I read a host of complaints on google play store about the recent update to Signal. Specifically, its requirement to have a PIN, the forced use of Signal cloud storage for saving messages, the continual annoying "reminders" to verify the PIN, and the significant problems encountered by some people when the PIN was forgotten. All of this without an Opt-out to not use a PIN and cloud repository.

There were complaints from close to two dozen users, almost all of whom were going to drop Signal because of this PIN issue and the forced usage of cloud storage for their messages. But I'd like to hear from Signal users here, if there are any, whether there is "another side" to the issue. Do people on the forum find the PIN and the cloud storage not such a big issue and will continue to use the program. Or do they agree with the google play store complaints that this has ruined Signal.

My friend who has a Samsung J7 has been having problems. He says he didn't used to have My Files but then it appeared and has seemingly been trying to delete his photos. I guess he managed to delete it instead but now it's back and doing the same thing.

I'm on a J7 Pro and when I turn on the phone it doesn't vibrate at all and I have to run a vibration test and hit it just a little in the bottom, then general vibration works perfectly until like I type with haptic feedback for a while, then I have to redo the vibration test trick.
Does anyone know something?

I found my old phone earlier today while I was re-organizing some things, and decided to turn it on for laughs. After discovering it still powered on, I wanted to see if I could unlock it and get it fully working. However, I can't even get to the point of unlocking the device (see pic one). After some research, I said screw it, and tried doing a hard reset, but I can't even get into recovery mode, and I don't have an option to factory reset this thing. And of course, when I tried to use the HTC RUU for this thing, that ends up not working either. Has anyone else ever ran into anything like this before?

For reference, as you can see in picture 2, I haven't modified the rom, rooted the device, or anything of that nature.
