Help Wiko Fab 4G being picky about country?

Hey all,

my Fab 4G doesn't let me use its regular call function when everytime I'm in India. I'm using a local prepaid SIM-card and can use pretty much any other feature of the phone, incl. online-calls and video-calls. Once I'm back in another airport, things work normal. I've been to China too and didn't have that problem there.

I wonder, is there any kind of setting that I haven't taken care of, cause at this point it doesn't seem like a technical fault to me.

Other interesting observations from the video:
  • Face detection on the S20 Ultra rear camera forces skin smoothing, it's overdone, and there's no way to turn it off (yet)
  • The selfie camera is amazing and doesn't suffer from these same smoothing problems
  • The Ultra Wide camera is not very good
  • Low light is good but not as good as the Pixel 4
  • Portrait mode is good but not as good as the iPhone
On the one hand it embarrasses the iPhone but on the other there is room for improvement. Great video review as a whole!

Phone 2 PC MTP connection results in code execution on PC

After Samsung S9 phone was connected to Win10 PC using usb cable, and opened in MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) mode, in C:\\Windows\\System32\\Samsung\\EasySetup folder was automatically copied 2 files: SamsungDeXEasySetup.exe and ss_conn_launcher.exe and file SamsungDeXEasySetup.exe was automatically executed with out asking.
HOW and WHY connecting phone to my PC results in program download and execution with out asking? Autorun is disabled for all media types on PC.
This is huge security issue, as executing code on PC by simply connecting phone as MTP device is asking for viruses to exploit this.

Help Wi-Fi problem

I'm typing this on my 5-year-old Moto X 2nd Generation, because my less than 1-year-old Moto Z² Force Edition suddenly has a problem connecting to the Internet.

I was just sitting here doing stuff when I noticed no Wi-Fi Internet connection. My phone's 4G data had kicked in [before I noticed this--and used up a lot of data from my NOT unlimited plan], and I was still connected to my Wi-Fi network, but it said 'no Internet.' WTF?

I've tried everything I can think of including: rebooting the phone, forgetting and reentering my network's credentials and, most importantly, verifying that ONLY the Z² is affected. *ALL* other devices that use my Wi-Fi Internet connection are fine; that includes multiple computers, multiple Android devices, multiple DirecTV DVRs, and ADT and Ring systems.

In a last gasp effort, I went ahead and rebooted the modem and router, knowing full well they weren't the problem, and...nothing.

The Z² sees and connects to my network, then says 'connected, no Internet.' It also cycles through endlessly connecting, authenticating, then saying 'authentication problem.'

Ideas, please?!

Any issues migrating back to older Android?

When, in January, I broke the screen of my two-year-old Android twice in two months I gave up on it. I now wish I hadn't. I don't like my new Android 10 phone (Google Pixel 3a.) I'm considering getting the screen of my old Android 8 phone, Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom fixed again and adding a screen protector to help guard against cracking

I particularly miss the camera on the Zenfone as well as the storage card. I hate the silencing or do not disturb feature on either Android 10 or this phone model.

The battery is still great on the Zenfone and the new phone has no storage card capability, the screen is smaller, too.

Would I see issues with my apps or anything else moving back from Android 10 to version 8?

Lost my movie setup

When using file manager to search a folder of movies, when I tapped a movie the movie didn't start playing, just an opening screen with a "play" arrow. There was a delete button and I could swipe left or right to the next or previous movie.

Now the movie I tap from file manager starts playing immediately. Tapping the back button returns to the list in file manager.
Trying to find a pool particular movie when I can't remember the title Is slow.
I haven't changed file manager but I must have changed open with.
Does anyone know a video player that used to do what I want?

Help Bluetooth troubles

Hello.
I have a huawei p20 pro and have been using for the past year.
I use a pair of JBL E500BT Bluetooth headphones that I use all the time. I can't live without them.
However, about two days ago they wouldn't connect to my phone. The headphones work flawlessly with other devices. I use them with my laptop. But they still won't connect to my phone. I tried restarting both devices but it won't work.
Any ideas?

Google Pay or Samsung Pay

I've used Google Pay since it was first introduced on the Galaxy Nexus, though I've only really started using it frequently in the last few years its availability has become more ubiquitous.

Now that I am getting the S20, are there any advantages to Samsung Pay? Perks? Is it easier to use if I attach multiple cards? Does if manage store reward cards as Google Pay does.

Help Smartwatch Step Count Question

Is there someway to set the recording of my daily step count to just the Watch? My only two choices seem to be Watch & Phone or Phone. The issue I have is, I mount my phone on my motorcycle and run Waze as my GPS/Traffic. The phone thinks I'm exercising, so my 16mi commute to the office ends up recording circa 4000 steps. It's somewhat annoying and infuriating that Samsung doesn't appear to offer recording the step count from just the watch itself, or am I missing something?

Hey y'all, I need some help regarding an old tablet.

So, I recently dug up an old "Neura Evolio" tablet (from Romania) and I saw that it's running on Android 2.2.1. I normally wanted to use it as a second monitor for my PC, but its OS is too old. I tried to search for a way to upgrade it to 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or higher, but the site that had the updates shut down. I found some extra sites that had the files uploaded unofficially, but sadly those cannot be accessed as well. Also, before you say that I should try and update it from the settings, it just says "Your system is currently up to date". If you want to know how the tablet looks like to get an idea from it, I attached an image as well. Thank you!

using metro pcs or t-mobile for internet

i was watching a youtube that talked about using t-mobile for getting tv and internet. i have metro so will metro allow this being they are part of t-mobile? when i ust an app that shows me what cell tower i'm on it says t-mobile.

anyway has anyone used one of those kuwfi radio devices to get either metro or t-mobile as there internet and something called binge watching?

the you tube showed how to take a t-mobile sim card and get that kuwfi radio connected to a t-mobile tower and then using something on t-mobile for getting free tv networks like netflix and a bunch of other networks for watching tv.

so using this radio for the network looks easy enough but what plan would someone need to be able to use the internet like having comcast so i would not get data caps. currently i do not get close to them but if i was to get on t-mobile and start using that for tv i'm sure i would be into tons of data. comcast gives me 1054gb before they say i'm at the limit. and i do not watch tv on the internet but for netflix, i'm betting if i watch a lot of netflix that data will go up.

so the youtube told about binge watching and internet. using the kuwfi radio and a t-mobile sim card for the service? can anyone tell me it this will work? using it for internet and that tv watching? for normal local channels we have antenna on the roof but for things like netflix i would want to keep that and if there are other networks maybe some of them. thanks

MOTO G7 rotates upside down and gets stuck in landscape

Hi guys,
I bought my G7 Power about 3 months ago. It has worked fine until this morning. When i unlock the phone, the screen is straight up and down as you would normally hold it. If i turn the phone counter clockwise the screen goes in to landscape but it is upside and it is stuck in that position. I have to turn hit the power button to shut off the screen then hit it again to get the phone screen to go back to its normal, upright, portrait position. If i turn the phone clockwise it goes into landscape and it IS right side, up as it should be, but it is stuck in that position and i have to hit the power button to turn off the screen, then hit it again to get it back to portrait. Also, my camera screen is always in landscape even though the phone is upright and all photos are saved as if i took them with the phone in the landscape position.. I have started the phone in safe mode and it does the same thing. I have cleared my caches. I have powered the phone off and on several times including doing it by holding down the power button for 15-30 seconds, it never fixes anything. I have also turned my home screen rotation on and off as well as my auto-rotation. If i shut them off, the phone stays in portrait, once i turn them back on, it does the same thing.

OxygenOS update 10.3.2 for OnePlus 6 & 6T

OnePlus has begun the OTA, (Over The Air), rollout of their new stable Android 10 OxygenOS firmware, 10.3.2, for OnePlus 6T, McLaren and OnePlus 6 users.

This is the 10th Android 10 stock/beta release in 5 months.

As always, there will be a limited roll out initially, followed by the global roll out in a few days.
