Issue with video looping on NEO U9-H Media Hub

Hi there,

I seem to be experiencing a strange issue when trying to loop videos on my android device.

I have tried using VLC and MX player. Both allow you to set a video to loop, but in my case, every time the video ends, instead of looping back to the beginning of the video it seems to start looping again at 5-10 seconds in each time. I have checked the settings in both VLC and MX player and I can't see anywhere where I might have instructed it to do this. It's really strange.

I am using HALauncher

Does anyone know why this might be?

The looping issue is occurring with ALL media players I have tried.

Here's an example.

I have an 8 minute video. Let's say I play it from the start and exit to the menu on 4 minutes.

Then I select the video again, play it from the beginning and let it run to the end. When it starts looping, instead of playing the video from the beginning it will start playing at 4 minutes in i.e where I exited the video the previous time it was played.

Like I say, I have tried a whole host of video players for android and the same issue is occurring on all of them.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Firmware-Over-The-Air updates for closed networks

Hello,

I'm not sure if there is a better category to ask this question but I hope I'm at right place.

So, my firm is in initial stage of planning a closed LTE network for a customer. The network will not be connected ever to the internet. All the data sent and received will be local to the network.

My question is regarding the over-the-air updates that we get from the mobile phone manufacturers. How exactly do they send the updates to the phones? What kind of hardware is present at the server to do this OTA function?
If I buy a commercial phone, is there a way that I can get the latest patch issued by the phone manufacturer and push it to all the mobile phones in my network?

Why buy the very expensive Z Flip?

In spite of its price, lack of top end tech and potential vulnerability the Z Flip can be a good choice for someone who travels frequently. Here are some of my reasons for purchasing this phone and my limited experience to date.
Form factor: easily and comfortably slips into pant, jacket pockets. Easily removable from pant pocket without having to release seatbelt while in car or plane. You can't believe what a pleasure it is not having the discomfort of a bulky semi-tablet in your pocket.
Use of Phone While Traveling: whether I am on a plane or train I can place the phone open at 90° on the tray and use it in full-screen or split screen view.
I can make video calls with the phone open at 90° sitting on the tray or normal calls while multitasking on the phone.
I can stand it sideways with a slight bend and watch full-screen videos/movies, similar to a miniature curved PC monitor.
While traveling, I can set the phone on a ledge, table or any other available flat surface to take pictures and videos with no jittering or shake. The easily adjustable angle of the top half gives considerable flexibility in focusing in on the shot.
The slightly slimmer form factor gives a surprisingly better grip when walking and using the open phone.
While the screen is clearly not anywhere as strong as my galaxy S 10+, I have already gotten into the habit of flipping the phone shut when not using it. As such it's screen is only exposed to damage when open.
Unlike the galaxy S 10+ it does have a more pronounced bevel that is raised sufficiently to protect the screen if the phone is dropped while open. One drop for me already
Time will test the durability of the screen and the hinge. In the meantime, happy camper.

Creating a rounded image

I see many examples of that using implementations and mathematics calcs.

I would like to show my soft way to do this.

Create a CardView object and insert inside it an ImageView object, like this:
HTML:
<androidx.cardview.widget.CardView
                android:id="@+id/cardLogo"
                android:layout_width="wrap_content"
                android:layout_height="wrap_content"
                app:cardCornerRadius="100dp"
                android:elevation="0dp"
                android:outlineSpotShadowColor="#fff"
                >
                <ImageView
                    android:id="@+id/imgProfile"
                    android:layout_width="200dp"
                    android:layout_height="200dp"
                    android:src="AnyImageYouWant"
                    />
        </androidx.cardview.widget.CardView>
The trick is: the
HTML:
app:cardCornerRadius="100dp"
from CardView will create a rounded borders and will get the size of its son, the ImageView.

In programming time, the image will stay in your real format, but in execution time, the CardView will round the image.

Fragment does not recognize any Activity

I have created a bottom navigation activity with three fragments using templates from Android Studio.

In the first Fragment of this bottom navigation activity, has a Listiview with many items. I need to redirect the user to another activity when he clicks on an item, but the fragment doesn't show any Activity file when insert the Intent code, just Java files.

This my code below:

Java:
mRef.addChildEventListener(new ChildEventListener() {
            @Override
            public void onChildAdded(@NonNull DataSnapshot dataSnapshot, @Nullable String s) {
                Product product = dataSnapshot.getValue(Product.class); // My class Product

                products.add(product); // Adding product to Array products
                adapter.notifyDataSetChanged();
                TextView txtNameUserApp = (TextView) getActivity().findViewById(R.id.txtNameUserApp);
                ImageView imgUserApp = (ImageView) getActivity().findViewById(R.id.imgUserApp);
                ClasseFirebase.getDataUser(txtNameUserApp, imgUserApp, mAuth, getContext());

                // Setting the Itemclick of the ListView lstvProducts
                lstvProducts.setOnItemClickListener(new AdapterView.OnItemClickListener() {
                    @Override
                    public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, int position, long id) {
                        startActivity(new Intent(getActivity(), MinhaActivty.class)); // In this place I need to insert the name of another activity
                    }
                });
            }

Can anyone tell me why?

Google translator button not appearing anymore

When I was using watsap and chatting my foreign friends, when I copied their text, the google translator was automatically appearing.

But now, after the android update, it doesnt happen. I tried settings in translator app but there is nothing to enable that.

Settings > Tap to translate > Enable

did not work.

How can I make the translator app button automatically appear whenever i copy a foreign language text?

Ting Mobile now offers service on the Verizon network

Ting just announced they have added the Verizon network to their service:
https://ting.com/blog/ting-mobile-service-on-every-network-but-att/

They originally started on Sprint, then added T-Mobile in 2015, and now with Verizon they have three options depending on your phone compatibility and coverage in your area. Their SIM card for Verizon is the V1 SIM.

If you want to see if your current smartphone will work with them you can check here.

Ting has been around for 8 years but might not be as well known as other carriers, we have a Ting FAQ page if you want to know more about them, and a referral thread as well.

Weinstein detours to hospital on way to Riker's Island

So I read that after the verdict, and on the way to Riker's Island, Harvey had high blood pressure and heart palpitations and was taken to the hospital.

The guy's a mess (both physically and mentally) and while I think many like the idea of him rotting away in jail, I wouldn't be terribly upset if he just died in the near future, maybe like shortly after he is sentenced. For one thing that would end all of the appeals and solidify the conviction, and it would allow his victims some manner of a sooner closure instead of this being rehashed for several more years.
