Is anyone else experiencing the error Call Management has stopped when making or receiving a call? I have tried clearing all the caches and data from the call related apps to no avail. Effectively, the phone can not be used as a phone.

I've just discovered how to close the internet tabs (pages) on the Samsung A40.

(This is different to closing apps, which is done using the bottom left button.)

To close internet tabs, open your usual browser, e.g. Google Chrome. At the top of the screen, just to the left of the three vertical dots, you will see a square with a number in it - that is the number of internet tabs (pages) you have open at the current time.

If the number in the square is 1 or more, you can close all or some of the tabs (pages) you have open by touching the number square. This then opens a new view showing you each page you still have open (up to 50). You touch the (x) in the top right corner of each page you want to close.

Doing this will probably make your phone more responsive.

This doesn't seem to be mentioned in the user manual !

My partner has bought a Moto G7 Power running Android 9. When she takes photos they do not appear in the Gallery app as we both expected from previous phones. Where are they? How can she move them to the SD card?

I am going stir crazy! Ive been an android user for 5 years or so i have an ipod touch. For the life of me i cant find an android app thats ad free that i can use to share files with my ipod touch without using data or wifi. The top rates ShareIT is just crammed full of ads. And no way to get rid of them. Can any of you veteran android users help me out here?

How do i update Android with Root?

Trying to take a screenshot of my notifications and am getting the error message, "Can't take screenshot due to security policy." First time I've seen this... curious if anyone else has seen this?

In my opinion this phone is still a beast a year later. Anyone else agree. Takes great pics the videos are clear as day and good on battery. And has IP rating and headphone jack even every phone these wont have them anymore. Oh and also has micro sd slot.

So right now, I own a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. And whilst I was using my phone, it ran out of charge so I put it on charge until it was on 100%. Even though it was responding to the charger, I could not find a way to turn on my s7 Edge as my power button fell off a while ago. Any solutions to this?

Before my Galaxy S9 upgraded to Android 10 I could leave MX Player Pro running in the background and pull down the notification bar to pause, stop or play.

Now, with all the settings the same there is a notification beep every few seconds if I navigate away from the player screen. The only way I can find to disable this is to turn off Download playback in Notifications, but then the controls are no longer there if I pull down the Notifications bar and I have to navigate back to the player screen to pause, stop or play.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks.

I'm not sure of this is a Bing issue or Samsung Internet issue.
I've already emailed Samsung but they told me the things I've already tried (Restart the app).
When I search in Samsung Internet using Bing and select images from the menu I get a list of thumbnail images.
Ok, fine. When I try to save the image by long pressing on an open image, the context menu doesn't want to pop-up.
The context menu eventually does come up only after several tries if at all.
Also, after the image opens Bing seems to have trouble openin the 'Similar images' below the image. I see only the spinning loading icon but similar images doesn't load regardless of how long I wait.

Any help wi;l; be appreciated,

I must be an idiot. How do I create an Avatar? When I click on the Avatar icon, the camera does nothing. Just in regular selfie mode. This is a factory unlocked phone.

The contact names on my Messages have suddenly disappeared and only the contact number is showing.

My phone (Moto G4) is synced with my Google account and I can see my contact list in Google but the contact names are not appearing in Messages.

I've scoured the web and tried various fixes including turning the phone on and off and doing a manual sync but nothing works. I've also tried 'force stop' but this didn't work either.

Anyone any ideas? This is driving me bananas

I'd like to know if there's a way to make the volume keys on the side of the phone control all 4 volumes at once. Either through the system on the phone itself or through a third party app.

Currently it seems you can only toggle between "Ringtone, Notifications & System" OR "Media" and then whichever one you don't have selected has to be set with the touchscreen control. I would very much like to be able to control "Ringtone, Notifications, System & Media" all at once with the side volume keys.

I have tried googling, but Google is doing it's, "Here's what you aren't looking for." thing. (I type, "control all volume with volume keys android" and it gives me a bunch of tutorials on how to switch between media and everything else. Not helpful.)

If it's something you can't change then whatever I guess, but it would be awesome if someone knows a way.

I have a Xiaomi Mi 9T running Android 10 on MIUI 11
I am going nuts because voice to text does not work on gboard.
Only gboard is affected - all other apps work fine with voice to text, I have tried all.

I have almost tried everything, no go.

If I delete updates in "APPS" then gboard starts to work for English spoken text, but then
after a minute or so it stops working again.

Is there any solution? I really love gboard but I need the voice to text feature.

I humble myself before the vast wealth of knowledge and experience on this forum, and, as a new user, hope to present you all with an issue you may not have seen before. I will state my problem in points to keep myself on track and so noone gets lost.

- I need to recover files from my android device, specifically the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (I'm British and back home in England, though this was bought in the Philippines maybe 2017.)

- The files include pictures and videos which I previously deleted to make room for lecture videos.

- I cannot access the tablet via software, as the tablet itself repeatedly disconnects from the PC. It seems to do this when there is any interaction, and any direct access to the tablet (which I can gain from Windows Explorer) enables me to see, but not copy files to the desktop.

Important Subpoints:

- The device has MTP enabled

- I have already disabled power management on the USB ports.

- There are one or two USB ports which come back with a malfunction error, but the working USB2 and USB3 ports are all equally problematic.

- My older cable had the same issue, it has since been replaced with a brand new one, neither work

- Attempting to interact via software which handles data copying results in the device being disconnected, after which it immediately reconnects

- Direct attempts to copy return two errors at different times: One being 'A device connected to this system is not functioning', and 'Cyclical redundancy check'.

It is infuriating and frustrating. I have attempted to conjure up a way around this and I will float an idea with you all which may or may not be viable, and in either case I am unsure how to proceed...

I considered other software aid, but with the connection issues and lack of drive letters, it isn't possible to use software like Recover My Files to get back what's lost directly from the tablet.

However, I thought, if I were able to make an image of the tablet and somehow get it from the tablet to the PC, I could use Recover My Files to work on restoring the deleted media.

Would this even be possible?

Sorry if this post is in the wrong place, it's absolutely fine if it is moved somewhere else so long as I can find it. I look forward to receiving some of your wisdom and really hope someone here could help me to get my old stuff back.

I just came up with an interesting idea that I believe could have some potential but sadly I don't have any coding skills and was wondering if maybe there's already an app like this out there, or there is potentially a developer who would be willing to give this a try!

My idea essentially involves sensing changes in the wifi levels combined with something like an altimeter to know where your phone and by association you are in the house and using this information can change the light level of the Hue smart lamps depending on whether or not you're in the room or not. This app already measures the wifi strength which could be used as a starting place.

When you first start up the app it could ask you to stand in roughly the middle of a room, and then specify which lamps are currently in the room. It then takes a wifi level and altimeter reading, and now knows where that room is and it's lamps. Now repeat the procedure with every room with a smart lamp in the house. Now the app has various "points" which signify the centre of a room in the house at different floor levels. When your phone then comes close to one of these points by analyzing the wifi strength, it will automatically turn on the lights in that room, and turn off the lights in all other rooms.

The use case is - A user copies an item from my app and he pastes it to another app owned by me. The item gets pasted in a custom format.
A user copies the same item from my app and pastes it to another app, let's say Gmail and item gets pasted as an image.
I need to implement a content provider so that the target app can choose the format it wants to paste. How can I achieve this?

I'm trying to use surface control in android.
I'm checking out a native window from this surface control and drawing on that window using opengles but I'm not able to display it on the screen. It seems my surface control is not tied to the android view. How can I tie it with android view? It would be great it someone can point me to some example using surface control and drawing on it using opengl.

I just purchased a new Bluetooth headphone and have a question about how to link it to my A20. The phone detects the presence of the headphone and I'm given a verification number to enter to complete the task, however the phone doesn't offer me any means by which to enter this verification number. What am I missing?
