Hi. I've had two unusual items appear on my two Samsung devices in one day. This seems most suspicious to me because I just the other day read an article about some new Android malware.

On my Galaxy Tab A an Android-like icon I've never seen appeared on my home screen labelled "com.lat.activities" (see image). Googling that gave me nothing. I'm reluctant to click it. Has anyone seen that?



Also, on my Note 8 a "Find My Mobile" notification with two ones below it keeps appearing. From what I've read this might happen after setting up a Find My Mobile account, which I haven't done.

I would appreciate any help.

My Samsung Galaxy S8 keeps saying "Ready" unprovoked. It has happened a few times in different apps so I assumed it was just an ad thing, but recently it has happened when the phone screen is locked. I always clear put all my apps so nothing would have been running in the background. Any insight?

Textra is shown as the default messaging app. However, when I select a photo from the gallery app and click on sharing only the old messaging app comes up in the list.

How do you fix that?

Hi All, I noticed today that my assistant talks again after having managed to silence it by opting for hands free response only. For whatever reason, and after a couple of restarts, this no longer works. I've disabled the assistant for now as it's aggravating to hear that voice as opposed to simply have the result pop up to read. Any ideas on how to silence it?

Hi there, I've recently been redesigning my apps UI to fit that of a 21" screen instead of a 10.5". I'm able to keep most of the logic/code but pretty much need to completely redo the UI. Things like Text Views and Edit Texts are easy to increase font size but I can't find a good way to increase the size of a Radio Button. Is the only way to adjust the scaleX and scaleY and mess around with the padding to avoid clipping?

Im using Samsung galaxy tab 3 lite w/android version 4.2.2. Tablet is very sentimental 2me, last thing mother gave me be4 she passed. I have a very good VPN provider VPN City also I have the GPS joy stick app
I set both of them in US.
And also when I Don my IP search in Google it shows IP geo location is USA.
All that is said but still when I go to Google Play store and try to download Hulu TV app it says 'this item is not available in you country'

How come Google play know my location? I already cleared all cashed and app storage!

I have my lock screen set to only unlock with the fingerprint thingy:

• Unlock with home button is not turned on.
  
• Iris unlock is not turned on.
• Face unlock is not turned on.
• Direction / pattern unlock is not turned on.
  
• Intelligent scan unlock (are there enough worthless ways to unlock here?) is not turned on.

So, it should only unlock by fingerprint or by hitting the power button. Despite this, the mother@#$%er turns on every time you breathe on it. Sometimes the screen just turns on (not by touching the fingerprint thing, just by barely touching/moving the phone), other times it opens the camera. I've searched settings for camera, and I can't figure out any setting for what turns the damn thing on.

• How do I prevent the camera from always coming up?
• How do I prevent the screen from coming on every time I touch it?

Anyone still using one?

I have had the calendar on my mob update with Google calendar on my PC for the past year or more, but recent updates to my PC calendar are not being copied to my mobile calendar. Any ideas what may be wrong? I'm not aware of any changes to either system.

I've noticed this recently for some webpages.
When I go to "Add to home page" in Chrome on my android it ends up downloading the app for the website. Is there a way to fix this. I try to save a specific page but since it downloads the app instead it doesn't actually save the page.

A website as an example is Real Clear Politics. I tap the menu, Add to Home Screen. It shows like it is going to add the page with the title etc (although I can't edit it) then it says adding RCP. Which is the app. I don't remember this being the case in the past. Is there a setting to fix this? (also the option to add to home screen is no longer an option for that page until the app is uninstalled, it is replaced with the name of the app RCP) For another page it seems to add the website to the home screen but then when using that short cut it doesn't treat it like its opening in Chrome, i.e. address bar, bookmark, etc are all missing.

Had to buy a phone from the local post office after my first gen pixel's screen de-laminated due to the battery swelling, can't wait for the parts to arrive, this older phone still beats many newer ones.

Bought the A30, it was the highest quality phone they had ...for apps download and update I have set all settings to "Download over any network" and even tried "Only Use Mobile Data" to see if that helped ... yet many Apps still won't download and some won't update and simply display "Waiting for WiFI" which I won't be able to gain access to until I drive 94k's to the closest town with a WiFi Hotspot that my Mobile network supplier has at certain points in that town. and just now while I'm writing this it once again turned off it's WiFi Hot spot capability and I need to go to the phone and turn that back on so I can keep typing this post and continue to gain access the internet from my Laptop, this is seriously stupid!!!

Seriously Samsung, how long have you been producing phones and how many more do you sell than Google?who manage to get the software workinh smooth and with very few glitches such as this, people like me need to report to the governemnt as I've been laid of and am recieving government support till more work comes my way and I can't with several apps, freeking unbelievable!!!!

Is there a way to send touch tones when hands free? (Either with Android Auto or just using the phone directly hands free.) I know how to insert them into a contacts phone number so that isn't my question. Just want to be able to navigate a menu system without touching the phone.

(I'm new here but have searched for keywords and couldn't find anything relevant.If a thread exists please feel free to point me to it.)
