Messaging at start up

Hey all.
I need to figure out how to stop messaging apps etc from updating old messages and showing that I have X-number of unread messages on my Zenpad?

Specifically.... Let's say I don't use my pad for 2 or 3 days. But today I turn it on. As it starts all my messaging apps such as: email, Facebook, text messages, etc etc show that there are unread messages.

So for example the icon will show that I have, let's say, 20 text messages. In fact I don't, but it's counting the 20 that were sent and opened/read on my cell phone since the last time I started my Zenpad up.. When I open the app they of course are not showing if I deleted a message or they don't show as unread. Which is good that it's not showing messages as unread once in the app but why is it seeing messages that are read our deleted as the app starts?

This doesn't happen in reverse. For example of I open a message on my Zenpad but then start my phone the apps on my phone so not reflect the opened messages that I looked at on the pad.

So I guess my question is how do I stop the apps from showing that I have unread messages?

Hopefully that wasn't confusing.

Choosing between S20 and S20+

To date, I have always purchased the plus versions – i7 plus, S8 plus and S-10 plus. Here are my biased reasons for opting for the S 20 over the S 20+, beyond the cost factor.
1. Smaller form factor. The phone sizes are getting too big for my pockets.
2. Minimal difference in camera capabilities and picture quality. If I was really hung up on picture quality I would go for the ultra.
3. Not concerned about the 5G constraints since I believe 5G is presently a joke that has yet to be established and has to many constraints including lack of network, range from cell tower etc. etc.
4. Don't believe that the higher refresh rate, which is incidentally only available in the lower resolutions, adds any value to me since I'm not a gamer.

Cannot locate app

I have an issue of not being able to locate an app on my phone that I want to use. I go to settings and it shows the app installed but it only allows me to uninstall it. I go to the play store and it does not show the original app that is installed. The reviews aren't horrible and the app I have I want to use. Help!!!!

How to disable Bixby

By default when you press and hold the side button on your Samsung Galaxy Z Flip it will launch Bixby. You'll probably want to change the Bixby button to launch something else or disable Bixby completely. Don't worry- you can:
  • Settings > Advanced Features > Side Key
  • Find the "Press and Hold" area
  • Select "Power Off Menu" instead of "Wake Bixby (default)"
When you press and hold the side button you'll now be given power off and restart options for your Galaxy Z Flip. You cannot force the phone to launch an app by pressing and holding, but if you quickly press the side button twice you can have the Galaxy Z Flip open any app you'd like.

How to stop change side button action

By default your Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will launch the camera if you quickly press the side button 2 times. You can change this feature if you'd like and choose to launch ANY app with 2 quick presses using the following directions:
  • Settings > Advanced Features > Side Key
  • Tap "Double Press"
  • Choose "Open app" to select what to launch
Most people prefer to launch the camera when they press the Side key twice, however this can bother people who may accidentally launch the camera when it's in their pocket, purse, bag, backpack, etc..

You may also want to disable Bixby when you press and hold the side key.

Use the Galaxy Z Flip as a Wireless Charger (PowerShare)

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fip includes a feature called Wireless Powershare that will allow you to charge other compatible devices simply by placing it on the back of the Galaxy Z Flip.

To turn on Wireless PowerShare on the Galaxy Z Flip:
  • Open "Quick Settings"
  • Tap "Wireless PowerShare" to enable

To use Wireless PowerShare on the Galaxy Z Flip:
  • Fold the Galaxy Z Flip to the closed position
  • Place the phone face down on a flat surface
  • Place compatible device on top of the center of the phone
  • Charging should begin almost instantaneously
Your Galaxy Z Flip must be charged to at least 30% to share with another device using Wireless PowerShare! This should work with most Qi-Certified devices but speed and charging efficiency will vary by device.

Make sure you take the cover off of any device you're charging to ensure the best connectivity and most rapid charging.

How to install SIM Card

If your Galaxy Z Flip did not come pre-installed with a SIM card than you may need to install one yourself (likely from your previous phone). The Galaxy Z Flip uses a nano-SIM card.

To install, unfold the phone's screen and access the SIM tray on the top left with the gold contacts facing down as shown in the image below. Make sure the device is fully charged.

Crease in middle of Galaxy Z Flip?

If you just unboxed your new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and are wondering why it has a big crease in the center of it- do not worry. This is 100% perfectly normal and it's simply the result of having a glass screen that folds in half.

Take a look at the last item of this Samsung Galaxy Z Flip User Manual and you can read the exact language for yourself: "You may notice a crease at the center of the Main screen. This is a normal characteristic of the device."

If you think the crease on your Z Flip is larger than what should be considered normal, please take a photo and share it here!
