Hello, I just switched from Sprint to a Verizon MVNO and a few weird things are happening and I can't seem to find a lot of info or help for it. After sticking the new SIM in, it said it was connecting to "." and then it updated apps for "." After that, where Sprint or US Mobile should be located at the top left, it says "Roaming Indicator Off" instead. In the network settings it says the network provider is "roaming indicator off" lol.

The APN list is a dozen of Verizon related ones, and Verizon Internet is selected. I was told by support to use https://www.4gapn.com/us/en/verizon APN settings to add another one. The top left then read "Searching for Service" and I had LTE while it was searching but after 2 or so minutes it shut off and read "Emergency calls Only". I've tried putting the Sprint sim back in and fiddling with the settings there and switching back to the US Mobile sim, and it started to try to activate to the network but eventually failed and gave error code 6604. I'm assuming it was trying to connect to Sprint? Someone suggested taking a Verizon sim and seeing if that can install the Verizon personality on the phone, since it was still running Sprint OMADM and was in an in-between stage of being both Sprint and Verizon. I found an old Verizon droid and put the sim in. It got it to recognize as a Verizon sim, and now it boots up saying Hello Verizon, downloaded the apps and waited a while. Started to look good, it said it couldn't activate service but I'm assuming because there isn't any on it? Popped the US Mobile sim back in and still saying Roaming Indicator Off. MMS still doesn't work either. Also noticed I have a new APN, LTE Verizon Internet. I have another phone with an active Verizon service on it, but I'm not sure if that will work either. Maybe I'm more in Verizon land than no man's land now.. At least I'm getting somewhere.

I should also add this is on a Galaxy S9+ and was leased, I bought it out over a week ago. MMS is also not working. Data, and VoLTE are though.

Unrooted ATT Galaxy S9 running Android 9 with Total Launcher (key).

I've got 6 quick setting tiles across the top with a single swipe down from the top.

I was wondering if anyone knew of an app or way to change that tile count across the top (not the grid count when its pulled all the way down) without being rooted or having to ADB my way in to the code.

Speechnotes has started adding unnecessary periods whenever I pause in the middle of a sentence. It's a pain to have to delete these periods as I go. How do I make it stop?

Some adviced me to go to: tools > android but android is not listed in the menu.

I got a new cellphone (UMIDIGI Power 3) and it worked for a few days. Today it suddenly shut down when I was trying to start the MS Outlook app, afterwards it cannot longer complete a boot up. It shows message "dm-verity corruption Your device is corrupt, it can\\\'t be trusted and may not work properly. Press power button to continue.Or, device will power off in 5s" and then shut down. I tried to use factory reset and was able to boot up successfully but the phone behaves the same if I try to reboot it (show same message "dm-verity correction ..." and shut down by itself.

My questions are:
1. Is this a hardware issue or a software (Android OS) issue ?
2. What is the root cause ?
3. How to fix it ?

Is there an app that makes it possible to automatically ignore and block incoming phone numbers starting with specific country codes? By defining rules or something.

The underlying idea: lately I have been regularly called by changing numbers, all starting with +242 This is the country code of Congo. My phone then rings 1 or 2 times and then hangs up. I want my phone not to accept those calls at all.

My provider has no possibility to block this.

I recently made some Display Settings changes to my S10+ and found that now when I push the Home button (middle button at the bottom of the screen) the phone returns to a different panel than before. Before it returned to panel 1 where I had all of my main apps but after the settings changes it started to return to panel 3 where I had my least used apps.

I tried to find some place in the settings that controlled which panel was displayed when the Home button was pressed but could not find anything. Can anyone help me? The only way I have been able to address this is to move all of my main apps to panel 3 but that seems like the wrong way to fix this. I think I should be able to set which panel is the Home panel but don't see where or how to do that.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having issues suddenly with ZA not knowing how to open APK files for some reason.

I've downloaded games in the past through MEGA, and then I usually can find the apk in ZA, press 'open' and then I'll see "Staging app" and then it works. I downloaded an update for a game (that I have played without issue before), and now ZA keeps asking me which app to open the apk file with. It now does this with every apk file, and it seems like no option is correct.

How do I fix this?



I've cleared the phone's cache, I've uninstalled and reinstalled ZA, I've deleted and redownloaded the game update apk, nothing is working.

hey guys i have a tv box and its apparently running the standard android os instead of android tv os, so i want to see if i can make it run a proper os version, one big issue is the youtube app, it looks like the same app you would get on a phone, it doesn't play in full screen and it has the suggestions and all of that next to video while playing, i would really like to mod this thing and make it work better thanks

hey guys i have a android phone that appears to be completely dead, when it boots it just shows the first lg screen and that's it, i doesn't do anything else, so i thought maybe a hard reset, so i got the menu pulled up, hit factory reset and after A second it goes right back to the lg screen and doesn't budge, tryd 5 or 5 times, so im thinking the os on the phone is just gone, so i would need to flash a bran new os to it, i have a pc and wanting to learn how to mod android phones, not hardore modding, just maybe flashing a new os and rooting thanks

I keep getting a "messages are full"; warning me that I can't receive any more SMS until I've made room.

I don't have many apps, photos or files loaded on the phone.

I have 2 SIM cards installed, however, it seems the phone tries to store my SMS messages onto my primary SIM card.

How can I get the phone to store SMS messages locally (64 GB memory) ?

I’ve looked under Messages → Settings, there’s no option to change the storage location for messages.

All my apps appear in random order on my home screen. I have attempted to sort them following the instructions on the Samsung site, which says I should tap the 'three dots' on the home screen and select 'sort' / 'sort alphabetically'.
There is no 'three dots' icon above the list of apps. How can I sort the apps alphabetically, please?

Inherited a J3 2017 from my late brother in law but no password or unlock pattern was written down by him. All of his email accounts are now closed (didn't have passwords for them anyway) so I have no clue as to how I may access the device for photos etc that he had of us, his son and himself. Eventually gave up and tried to factory reset device but still require email address for verification to complete even this task. Is there any way to recover use of this device or is it effectively 'bricked' for a new user?

I still want the phone for sentimental reasons but it would be great to use it day to day as a reminder of a lost and much loved friend.

I just purchased 2 lock screens from Huawei Themes server directly from my Huawei Y5 2019. Once paid, they both show APPLY, but then impossible to apply. The downloaded lock screens just appear in my phone without any options, just showing themselves and that's all. No way to be really applied. So Huawei got my money and gave me two lock screens that are impossible to be applied.
Any ideas how to fix this?

In the same vein, can an app without cap_lease capability acquire a lease of a file in some commonly known directory such as Downloads, Pictures, etc?
