How can one create an android app with the cap_lease capability?

In the same vein, can an app without cap_lease capability acquire a lease of a file in some commonly known directory such as Downloads, Pictures, etc?

Take that, Apple and Broadcom!

I'm really pleased about this. Stealing, in any form, is not okay and, hopefully, this will serve as a warning to other companies not to do it.

On two personal notes:

I grew up a few blocks from Caltech, and would ride my bike or skateboard over there, then ride around the campus, which is beautiful. I wondered if I'd ever be smart enough to go there. Caltech bought our house--and the rest of the houses in our block--for student housing. (Ultimately, they razed the whole block, which included turn-of-the-century Craftsman and Victorian houses, and put up student apartment buildings. )

Caltech, if you don't know, is one of the most elite universities in the world, whose work with NASA, JPL, the USGS, and others, has impacted every one of our lives. And any time there's a significant earthquake, it's Caltech where all the news crews go for press conferences and information.

As for Broadcom... This hasn't been an issue for years now, but as a Linux user who had to manually force their infamous BCM43xx 'winmodems' to work on Linux laptops, YAY! Payback for all that collective time my fellow Linux users and I spent searching the Internet for just the right files, mucking about at the command line issuing cryptic commands, swearing at micro$oft for their shady business practices (today they embrace Linux!), crossing our fingers, rebooting our laptops...finally seeing the wireless light light up. I don't usually hold a grudge, but damn!

Using voice to text, mic goes right back off after tapping it, regardless off keyboard being used.

Saying "hey/ok google" doesn't activate voice search or assistant. Tapping mic icon in search bar doesnt work the first try. It pulls up the "Say ok google/tap mic button" prompt.

What gives?

So I've had an Android game out for years as a side hustle. I initially released it before in app purchase existed with google play. The monetization model was a full paid app and a separate free version of the app with only the first few levels which links you to the app store page of the full version once you complete all levels. I finally have time to switch it over to the more modern free app with a premium in app purchase model where you make a one time non consumable purchase to unlock the advanced levels and features.

Does anybody know if it's possible to seamlessly switch the app with a new release to this monetization model? Ideally I'd like to unpublish the existing free version, update the paid version to now be free and add a new in app purchase non consumable product that all existing customers get for free. If I simply add a new non consumable in app purchase product, my existing customers will be ticked off that they paid for the app when they purchased it a while back and the premium features no longer work after the update because they don't own this new in app purchase item. On the flip side, if I have to create a brand new app because this is not possible it wipes out my app's ratings, comments and google play app store "momentum".

My phone is unblocked, (bought in Canada), with about 4 months use, and since the update to the new Emui, it started with some weird Quirks (notification issues, and the like), must of them i have been solve. But there is one that I can` t solve.

About 3 weeks ago, my P30pro, got the update to Emui 10.0.0.178(C792E8R1P3).

The google app, seems to have lost its permission to access the Mic.

Everything else with the Microphone works, Phone, Audio recordings, and the like, all work without any trouble.

But every aspect of the Google apps doesn’t hear when there is noise, (the Google colors don´ t even move when you speech).

So I can´ t use the Speech to text, Google Asistant, Ok Google, or similars.


I already did a Factory Reset. Didn’t´ t work.

And I brought it to a Huawei Service, in Mexico, And they Said that they could install a different version of the software, but because it is not the native software, there is no warranty it would work, and that there is a chance of bricking the phone.

And no warranty, since it was bought in a different country.


I can´ t be the only one with this issue, Please Help.

What is wrong the voice to text! I have had this phone for 7 months and still I have to correct nearly every word! If I speak very slow I may get a sentence with only one error. This is an example of what I get when speaking normally... Jasper waking up be and are bargains in any says that... not even sure what this was suppose to say now. I certainly know no one by the name of Jasper & I've never used it in a sentence till now. Help!

I'm not buying s20 now its gonna be too expensive but was thinking of upgrading to note 10 plus. Any input appreciated.

We can assume that's what Samsung is calling the ridiculous camera on the Galaxy S20 with 100X zoom (unclear if that's optical, digital, or both).

This is why I'm buying the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The Camera. I'm hoping the the 100X Space Zoom and hopefully high photo quality (including low light photos quality) help me feel good about leaving the DSLR behind on every occasion.

Is there a way to s-off a HTC one M8 device while in the fastboot usb.
I was trying to flash the device but ended up stacking at the logo. I decided to fastboot flash recovery and then fastboot boot. This resulted in a situation where if I reboot the phone, it displays the HTC logo and then goes back to the fastboot menu. I want to s-off so that I can flash everything because I tend to think I loaded a boot.img which is incompatible with the soft.

Here you can select background and birds by your choice.
Difficulty level is improved.
And lots of bugs are fixed.

my phone has been multitasking beautifully for 3 months. Yesterday I was told about GoodLock and decided to try it. I installed it and the extras and everything was okay. Last night I was letting my favorite little game play while doing something else and it was perfect. even snapped a screenshot to show my iPhone friends. This morning I woke up and went to do my daily multitasking and NOW MOST OF MY APPS DO NOT ALLOW ME TO USE POPUP VIEW WITH THEM. The same app I always put in a little window to let run in the background to get my points launches fullscreens only and the same with my water app I usually tap open from the taskbar app to log a drink in the corner of my screen and quickly close it when done. I got this phone FOR multitasking because it's what I can't do on iPhone or I would have just gotten another one of those. I thought it was probably goodlock since that's the only thing new and cleared the data and removed it all but it's still broken. I uninstalled my beloved taskbar app but I still can't force apps in popup view no matter. I checked and there were no app updates overnight either. I need my multitasking back. I already have phones that only run one app at a time and that's why I stopped using them.

Is it possible to uninstall Gmail built in browser ( not the disable in settings that you can enable), I basically wanna have Gmail for my kids phone but he should not be able to open any links, so is it possible to uninstall the browser?
