Turn off autoplay video from Google Play

Autoplaying videos are one of the internet’s most annoying features, consuming plenty of data and system resources. Back in September, Google announced autoplay videos in the Play Store. There is now an option to turn off that annoying automatic behavior.

Version 17.9.17 of the Google Play Store app now allows you to disable these videos that auto-played in the game spotlight section and game suggest.

Google Play Store setting is accessible by heading to settings > general > auto-play videos (screenshot above) and allows you to Auto-play videos over Wi-Fi or completely Don’t auto-play videos

It’s not a new feature because it was introduced last month but not for all users like now. Do you think it's useful?

Not getting anywhere near the 3 day battery life

I got this phone a few weeks ago. I don't have that many apps on the phone. Checking battery usage right now, it's showing Facebook at 9% and chrome at 3%. Today was a day off of work so I was playing on my phone more than usual today. On days I work, it just sits in my pocket unused most of the day. Even on those days, I get about a 22 hour charge time. Granted it's long enough for most days. Way better than my last phone. But still no where near the 3 day advertised battery life.

A few years ago, I had an Android TracFone that had a 5000 mAh battery also and I could go a week between charges.

Random image

While i was browsing on chrome. And i checked my gallery i saw pics of my grandma walking by which i never even took pics of. It also had IMG_ which really doesnt tell me much if the camera took control of its self and took pics or something. What is it and why were there pics of her on my phone ?

Disappeared?!

Very odd: I received an e-mail from Cerberus stating that my account is about to be deactivated, and to consider buying it [or a subscription? I'm not looking at it right now] if I wanted to continue using it. Weird, because I distinctly remember buying it several years ago.

I had uninstalled it at some point on my newest phone, so I couldn't check its license/status by opening the app. So I went to Play and looked through my lists of installed -and- library apps--and Cerberus was in neither.

Then I searched Play for it and came up empty. (There are some other apps with 'Cerberus' in their names, but they're not THE Cerberus.)

I came here and pressed the download link and--you guessed it!--I got an 'item not found' PS page.

WTF?!

PS I've now refreshed my memory by reading the old threads. I had completely forgotten about their discussions. Oh well, I'm senile, what can I say? :D

Moto G7 Play missing setting for "Enhanced 4G LTE Mode" (volte)

New phone in service for 1 month. It's supposed to be VoLTE capable. Motorola Moto G7 Play model XT1952-4 (USA Variant used in USA) Android 9. Has never displayed the setting to enable "Enhanced 4G LTE Mode". The status bar icon displays LTE but there has never been an icon indicating VoLTE. The setting option and a VoLTE icon were present on my old phone using the same T-mobile SIM. The phone has been rebooted many times. The SIM has been removed and reinstalled. The phone has been booted into Safe Mode. None of those remedies corrected the problem. Solutions? Suggestions? Ideas? Help please. Thanks.

Help My Moto E4 (Perry) boots Everytime into TWRP recovery

Tried rooting my old Moto E4 (Perry), everything went fine, bootloader unlocked, accidentally allowed system update and that rebooted my phone into TWRP recovery, which I flashed because I wanted to root my phone, went into deeper trouble when I thought it would be a good idea to clear everything and flash a custom rom hoping that would work, still rebooted into recovery Everytime, when I reboot into bootloader it's going into bootloader, but otherwise it's always recovery.

Possible dumb question

I've been fiddling with my phone and realized that I can't lock my phone. I can "lock" the screen in many ways but none of them require my fingerprint or PIN number to turn it back on. I'm not turning the phone off, just the screen. I want to only turn the screen back on securely, with fingerprint or pin. As it stands now, just pushing the power button and/or plugging or unplugging the charging cable turns it back on. Requiring a PIN or password when turning the phone on doesn't do it either. I do have apps that keeps the screen from timing out but I turned it off and that didn't help. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

NOWA 5 PRO smartphone boot problem after factory reset

Hi,

Recently got myself a NOWA5PRO phone, 128gb storage, 8gb ram. 10core processor etc. Pretty fantastic specs for a phone costing less than 50quid.

Noticed it's a Huawei NOVA5pro clone, and are largely unbranded so Hard to get manufacturer help.

Problem is after doing a hard factory reset, wiping the cache and used data areas via FORMAT command using the hidden RESET menu REACHED by using Power+VolUP buttons at Off state.

Will. Not boot.
I got another same model after getting a refund for the 1st I have Broken.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of these phones, and as I'm a complete novice with the Android OS at the low-level internal workings, was hoping to get some help with this one, possibly using the 2nd working NOWA5PRO.

I have virtually no experience using the Android-Pc ADB command and thought there might be 2 possible ways to fox the unbolting NOWA.

Solution 1;. Ripping the NOWA5PRO boot drivers from 2nd, the using the 'ADB SIDELOAD driversfile' command

Solution 2;. Hoping there's another hidden FACTORY-RESET menu that I've missed and don't know how to reach it.

[ The ulefone9pro smartphone I also possess has this 2nd hidden manufacturer menu which I use to reset the phone every now and then to refresh everything - just as I do with my Windows10 Pro ... Steps I use to keep everything refreshed ]

I have a fairly high level experience using Windows, being an ex games programmer, but NONE with the windows interfacing and Android devkits, low-level functioning of hardware knowledge of these new smartphones.

I was hoping to get help with keypress combination to get to this elusive 2nd RESET menu - if it exists at all on these unbranded nowa5pro's..

Or instruction on how to take drivers from 2nd nowa5 and so can be used on the first to get booting working again.

Sorry this is a huge read- it's my autistic nature to write essays instead of a single sentence.😭
