Need a solution. Want to go into settings and set up a calendar that will control when the phone rings, and when it is silent. This will vary from week to week.

So for example, silent between 9am to 5 pm on monday, come back on after 5pm, silent again at 11 PM
This will vary day by day, throughout a week or a month.
Do NOT want to have to reset this every day, want to set up a huge calendar of dates and times that all sound will be off, and all sound will automatically turn on again.

This is to avoid having to manually turn on and off "do not disturb". It is too easy to forget to
turn the ringer back on.

This post is not meant to rubbish or enhance anyone's views of the Xone Phone..

It is my personal experiences only.

Ordered on 20th October - it got to the UK 13th Nov with import duty which was not mentioned or referred to at all.. After complaining on the Chat forum they said I could refuse to accept it at the PO and they would refund on its return or get 10% refund: I got a 10% discount refunded to my C/Card. The import charge was £19.65p.. I'll get back £15.54 refunded.. (I'll gladly accept that for reason below)

The phone was advertised as having a large battery and reasonable size screen (compared to my Sony XA) The battery in it is NOT 3350 Mah.. it say 3250 Mah... It is still larger than my Sony (2300mAh) and acceptable to me.

The Dual camera is not 16Mp but 8.. I asked about this and was told they did not have enough 16Mp version to supply.. I'm guessing they upped the spec because of that (still a little underhanded IMHO... they should have asked me if i would accept.. and i would have.. for reasons below.

It was supposed to be Android 8.1 but it has Android 9 (does it matter to me?... not much i don't think.. I didn't notice much difference with the other iterations of KitKat etc etc) Re-sale may be helped perhaps.

It was advertised as 2Gb/16Gb .. I just about got away with that on my Sony XA, so was ok with it.. It turned up with 3Gb/32Gb.. more than pleased.

Camera.. I found the Sony camera files larger than i wanted and not that good quality or more likely not in focus where I'd like.. even on a landscape!.. This one at 8Mp was a bit of an unknown.. However i can actually see it focus where i touch on the screen and it does take the photo, in focus, where i touched focus.. Will it set the world alight..? As a photographer.. probably not, but it is fine for its purpose. It does have a plethora of options.. beaty/bokeh BW etc.. a lot more fun than the Sony (but admittedly it was an older phone/version)

Naivety: It was a whim purchase.. broke my own rule there. Will it suffice? Yes.. The two main thing generally .Android 9 (for added value) Screen is excellent (thought the Sony was really good too) Memory .. errr WOW.

Value.. I guess you could get another Chinese phone with similar specs...but I'm pleased

The Case? I posted another thread in the lounge about that.. I can't say that all phones come with the gel case but this one did although I stupidly didn't included it in the original order and could not find one online anywhere. Would it have been worth the asking price of £15. NO!.. but any protection os better than none.

USB port. No it is not USB C.. but the ubiquitous standard (older) Micro USB (B?)

Sound: Someone complained (on YT) about the volume being too low and no good for music... I found I could have my Sony neckband Bass boost Bluetooth in ear phones.. on the Sony i could stand the max volume and go a bit more if there was something recorded quiet.. not on this one... 2 step below max is very loud. Perhaps this is a different model. Sound from the little speaker.. much better than my 'tinny' Sony although as you'd expect Headphone use is a totally different experience on both.. a personal thing here; but both are/were, good in that dept

Can't think of anything else presently.. Hope this puts some light on a future purchaser's decision to buy or not. I think I'd buy again despite the difficulties; but that's me.

Sometimes when I scroll left I see an option to "clear all" recent apps. Other times it is not there. What is weird is sometimes I will have 12 apps on the background and the words will not be there. Other times I will have 3 open and it's there. Weird. Any suggestions?

Not recording audio

So I've been having a really annoying problem for the past 6 months or so.

Basically what happens, is that when I'm watching a video on the Youtube app, sometimes the app decides that it won't play any more videos until I reboot my phone. At first, the app will be buffering the video forever (spinning circle), then if I close the video and reopen / open another video, the whole app freezes when it tries to start a video, and nothing will help at this point except rebooting the phone. I can kill the YT app but it does the same if I reopen it.

I think it started since I installed YT Vanced (about 6 months ago), but even after uninstalling it, I still have this problem.
This happens very randomly. Sometimes it won't happen for weeks, sometimes it happens multiple times a day. Only a complete reboot solves the problem (until it happens again). Lately, it happens every day in the evening, which made it very annoying.

Yesterday I tested if other apps also freeze trying to play videos when this "bug" occurs, and yes, multiple reddit apps also did it (as you can see on the video). I forgot to test it with other apps, but this reddit app produced the same symptoms: it completely freezes when trying to play a video.

The bug has never occured outside the Youtube app. So it hasn't happened yet that I watch reddit videos or any other app, and the bug starts.

As you can see on the video, as soon as the apps try to start a video playback, they lock up, freeze completely, and they don't respond.
The bug usually starts by me watching a YT video, and then the video suddenly starts to buffer (as if Wifi signal is weak or something), but it never continues. It just buffers forever. Then I close the video and open it again, and that's when the whole app just freezes.

To me, this seems like a case where an app or service takes exclusive control of the media playback API, and it won't let go of it, causing other apps to freeze trying to play videos because they can't take control of the API.
However, I went into Settings / Developer Options / Running Services, and killed every single service and background process on the lists, and this didn't solve the problem.

In the logcat, there is an error that Youtube throws:
11-16 09:48:52.514 23413 23413 E YouTube : Media progress reported outside media playback: PLAYBACK_PENDING

I couldn't find and other signs in the logcat, maybe someone sees something else. I am not really adept at reading android logs.

Is there maybe any way to find out which is the culprit app/service?

The device is an Oukitel K6000 Pro with Nougat 7.0 (stock latest version), rooted using Magisk 20.0 (when this problem started, phone was rooted using normal SuperSU TWRP method, it has since been completely reflashed and using Magisk for the past month or so).

I'm new here so please forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong place.

I have medication that I have to take at particular times of day, so I have alarms on my phone to remind me. Most of the time, I want these alarms to sound, but when I am in a meeting, obviously I need them to be quiet. However, I still need to know it's time to take my medication, so I want them to vibrate.

So far, all attempts to get my phone to do this have failed. The only way to make the alarms not sound during meetings is to have a setting with "do not disturb", and that always also stops them vibrating.

My alarms are on the native Samsung Clock version 10.0.20.5 and I change settings using Sound Profile LITE by Corcanoe. I am open to different alarm and/or settings apps, free or paid for, if they will solve my problem. I am also open to sneaky work-around solutions if anyone can think of any.

My phone is a Samsung A6 running Android 9.

Hey, I've been tasked with picking a durable and 'rugged' phone for a relative. Budget is 320 USD, we're looking at European market.

So far I've looked over Doogee S55 and S60 and Blackview BV9000 pro.

Can't decide which of those three, or something completely different?

I think not having a USB-C is not cool these days, which is my primary concern with the S60.

Apparently, a 3.5mm Jack is mandatory (no matter how much I try to explain the opposite to the buyer)

I have a HTC Desire 626 with 8GB memory running Android 5.1 from many years ago. I am trying to update to Android 6. Has anyone been able to update this phone to Android 6? I can't seem to make enough space! I tried everything, moving everything to external SD card, deleting data, deleting updates, deleting all my apps... It says I've got 7.5 / 8 GB used up, but I can't free up space. Does anyone know how much space it SHOULD have?

Hi, I just purchased the Note10+ about a week and a half ago. I've tried a number of times to get my apps to play the notification sound I select for the app (going into Settings- Apps- select app- Notifications- select the categories), but it keeps playing the default sound. I've tried numerous different ways to set up the sound profile, but I can't get the apps to play what I'm selecting (I'm especially trying to set up a notification sound for Google and Alexa Reminders). I've checked the overall Sound Notification settings (Settings- Sounds and vibration- Notification sounds), the setting for each app, and hard reset my phone twice, all to no avail. I would really appreciate some help getting it straightened out please!

I have a Galaxy 7, unconnected to any service. I am using it as a GUI for playing music through my stereo system. Is there ANY way of moving an app from a phone in service, ...to one not in service? Obviously I can't download it, but is there any other way?

Have an old Samsung Gear watch that is running Android 6.01

Would like to flash TWRP onto it. It flashes fine and boots into TWRP.

But at the next system boot it's being returned to stock recovery.

I know this is a known problem on some devices.

I've also tried flashing both TWRP along with a patched boot.img created from the stock boot image using Magisk (on another device) That patching proceeded fine with no errors.

At this point TWRP "stuck"........ but it "stuck" TOO well. The device boot looped in TWRP.

Advice/thoughts/comments???

My Moto G5+ with android 8.1 installed has recently taken forever to download and install updates for the installed apps. I have tried deleting a bunch of apps, disabling autoupdate and updating one app at a time. I still have the problem. Any suggestions? I currently have 24 apps needing updates.

all the standard techniques for webview screenshot don't work when HTML5 has been rendered. It simply yields a blank page. Render plain HTML and it all works. Documentation for webview doesn't even mention HTML5 or HTML5 canvas, so I'm at a loss for where to look for assistance in this matter.

Hi all,

It seems that the latest update made my notifications go silent when I put it on vibrate. My phone used to vibrate when I get texts and emails but now they go silent. Anyone else experience this?

The only times it vibrates now are for phone calls.

I also noticed the "Notifications" line is grayed out in the attached picture.

The secure folder doesn't let you organize files like the Gallery does. I can't move files around or create and manage folders. Is there a way to do this or is there a better app?

Does anyone else have the problem that when you upload to Google Maps the name "Samsung" appears on new uploads as the description? I've changed Exif and IPCT info in photoshop but "SAMSUNG" still is the default description. Does anyone know a work around?

It's amazing that Android Studio won't let you change the default that by not finding the result of a search, it will go to the beginning of the code instead of asking if the user wants it. I haven't found a way to change this default. Is there something I haven't noticed?

I have been using Blu vivo 8 for 1.5 year and suddenly the touch screen cracked by due to unknown reason.
I have removed the old screen but unable to ribbon cable . I have searched and found other models demo in you tube. Other models back cover and battery can be removed but no details about vivo 8. It will be a great help if anyone could send a instruction or link to do the needful.

Hi guys i happen to buy OnePlus 7t. I once lying on sofa happened open my camera app to check the quality as the phone was new. There was a window at the side of me and sunlight was coming through it. The sunlight was falling horizontally on the camera of my phone. I saw a black patch on my screen which is like something is burned. For your reference i am attaching the picture.











I went to OnePlus service center and according to them this was some light effect which was being created due to sunlight. We were not able to get same sunlight atmosphere there at service center so I was not able to prove them the defect. So they denied to replace my handset under their policy of replacing mobiles found defective under 10 days of buying. But thanx to Amazon they replaced my OnePlus 7t. I tested the same thing with my new OnePlus 7t but they patch was not so severe this time. But there was a very very light patch similar to the previous one. Please check in below picture.

I created a slider adapter for a view pager i put the animations inside the isViewFromObject method but it work just for some pages of the view pager , is there any slide method where i put the animations, like when i slide the animations of the items start just for the current page.

I am trying to find some old SMS messages from about a year ago and I see that all my MMS messages with this person are still there but the SMS messages are gone...until about February (9 months ago) when they all start appearing again as normal.

From what I can tell it is only doing it for this one contact (my girlfriend...so there are lots of messages there).

The setting re deleting old text messages is NOT enabled (and never has been) so I am not sure where they have gone or if they can be retrieved. Might the phone have archived them for this particular contact?

I am using the standard messaging app on Samsung Galaxy S8. Software is up to date.

Any help greatly appreciated.
