Battery life

So what's the general consensus of battery life so far? I'm tempted to upgrade my Pixel 2 and have a 25% of plans until the 30th.

Obviously appreciate that every phone that comes out, people whinge about battery life but obviously don't want to go for something worse than I already have, albeit 2 years old

forgot the pin password lg g4 H11

I have an LG G4 I forgot the pin password so I cant unlock the phone to use it.
I bought some software from wondershare “Dr Fone” to hack into the phone by bypassing the pin code (I guess). The computer does not seem to be recognizing the LG. It is a Macintosh running OS El Capitan 10.11.6
I got the phone into download mode/firmware update but thats it. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

RCS adoption

https://www.theverge.com/2019/10/24...ng-initiative-ccmi-att-tmobile-sprint-verizon

-- So it's still a matter of baby steps going forward for RCS adoption. Could be a plus for us Android users but just between ourselves. I disagree with the article that RCS will replace SMS/MMS though. Since Apple won't allow other platforms to include support for its iMessage protocol and it won't include support for RCS into its iMessage app, the only text messaging link between Android and iPhone users will still be based solely on SMS and MMS. If Android were to drop support for SMS/MMS, that would result in no text messaging interactivity between the two platforms.

Apps Difficulties with Bluetooth Socket on Different Activity

Hello Android forums people.

To make it quick, I have been trying to make an app that displays nearby bluetooth devices so I can then connect to one of them and begin interaction, you know, sending simple data, like text. So far, that has been done using one Activity, a bluetooth item adapter, a class to manage the connection and data transmission with different threads, a custom listview with onItemClick events, and some of that other fun stuff, and yes, it works as is.

The thing is, I want to preserve the bluetooth socket and use it in another Activity, which has different buttons to send different kinds of data to the connected device (an electronic device with bluetooth connectivity and a microcontroller....not an arduino).

I have seen so many posts with different suggestions, but nothing really pinpointing in the right direction. "Use threads!, Use Services!, Use the Application class!, Use AsyncTask!". Again, just suggestions, but not a way of explaining how to do it.

I never thought it would be so difficult to pass the active bluetooth socket to another activity. You can certainly pass primitive data types with different methods, but not something like a bluetooth socket; and that is all I really need so I can send data.

So.... any ideas on how I can overcome this?

Texts not sending to one person

Hi all. Ive had my k8 for just over 2 yrs. Recently, to one person, my txts are sending, but not receiving(little tick) ive found the way to get these to receive are send more messages( creating almost a traffic jam, if you will). I can still call them during this time. But the txts do not receive until i habe pushed it through with lots of others. After a while, the jam gets through one by one, but can take up to an hour. It is only for one person. I am unblocked and able to receive their txts

Best Use Case for Smart Watch

Hello,

I'm trying to do some research on different use cases for smart watches or any kind of android wearables.

What are the best use cases you've seen or heard about for smart watches or wearables?

Looking for insights into how they help monitor specific health threats, or how people are using them in conjunction with their work.

If anyone has any interesting use cases, please share.

Thanks

Insurance apps, 30% fee, and user permissions.

I work for an insurance company that is interested in developing an app for our users. We were just wanting to know two things before we get started:
1. If we sell insurance plans directly through the app, would that incur Googles 30% cut for in-app purchases, or would that particular type of product be able to avoid that fee?
2. We were thinking of using app permissions to be able to completely auto-fill their application form with the information that's currently on their phone so they don't have to mess with it and the process is as quick and easy as we can make it. Like have the app find their personal data on their phone to fill out the form. Is that something that can be done with certain app permissions?
Thank you so much for any replies!

[HELP] Security issue

Hey everyone, if you guys could shed some light on this I'd appreciate it.

I have fairly strong suspicion my phone (note9 tmobile) has been compromised and is being attacked via shell, scripts, initially via a usb cable directly to the phone now remotely via Apache studio.

I'm really lost in trying to figure out what to do right now to secure my phone then where to go from, I have tons of screenshots but here are just some, if anyone is willing to help I will be immediately responding to everything and I would greatly appreciate it.

My main question is, what do I need to immediately do to stop it, where is a good starting point for researching what's going on specifically with this particular scenario.

App notifications where

Some of my app icons have icon badges with notification numbers in them. Apparently, this means I have notifications somewhere. So, what good is it to know how many I have if there is no way to see them? I assume there is some way to find out where are these messages are. Can anybody help me find them? If they are buried in my email I will never find them. If I do find them and read them will the number go away?

No Email LED Light Notifications

I have been battling with Microsoft and Google for two years regarding the lack of LED notifications in both Outlook and Gmail Apps on my Samsung Galaxy S7. It is not within the capability of the S7 to flash the LED when new mail arrives and the screen is dark. Save yourself a lot of grief and install the Light Manager 2 App and set the LED to flash with any App with the color of your choosing. The App runs in the background so you will sacrifice a little battery drain but what I have observed so far is minimal compared to the nicety of walking up to a dark screen and seeing the led flashing to indicate a new email, message or phone call.

Spotify on Lockscreen with Face Unlock

It appears that if you want to unlock your Pixel 4 with facial recognition (which I'm sure most people do), you can't have Spotify artwork and the notification that allows you to skip songs on the lock screen. If you turn off skip lock screen, the notification and artwork show up. However, your phone doesn't automatically skip the lock screen so you have to swipe to unlock. Looking for a way to have it skip the lock screen but also show Spotify on the lock screen.
