This very interesting article describes how Android, and a specific app, are in daily use by the military--starting with my favorite branch, the USAF--and law enforcement.

One great point it makes is that it is possible for a government project to stick to its budget!

When I put my Samsung Note 8 to silent mode and when I play any videos in browser/youtube/facebook, the video (media volume) would still have sound.

I want to maintain in silent mode all the time and I want to the media volume to default to 0 (mute) every time when a new video started playing (I may manually increase the media volume after a video starts playing).

How can I do that?

(By default, if I put my phone to silent mode, only the ringing is changed to vibration and any video played will still have sound.)

I have redmi A3 with stock android ver 9. When i enable internet tethering on my phone and connect my PC to this internet connection, my PC shows that it is connected and network is available however i am unable to access any site. However when i remove the SIM card and insert it in another phone which is not encrypted, my PC is able to access sites when i enable internet tethering on this new phone. So i am wondering if tethering would not wo0rk on encrypted phone? (i need to encrypt phone in order to run few work related apps)

I have Xiaomi A3 which runs stock android ver 9. I would like to know how to stop automatic android updates as i don't see an option to disable it (iam guessing stock android doesn't give that option). Is there any service or background app that i can stop which will make these android apps to not get installed automatically? (i am not asking about google play store app updates but about android system updates).

Forgot my recovery protection password

Every couple ove says my screen keeps going black I can turn it off and on and still wont work I then have to tap the back part of the device quite hard for it to turn on any ideas on how to get this fixed

I transferred everything from my Note 8 phone to my new Tab S5E (with the Smart Switch app)
The wallpaper from the phone (my own "aurora" image) came over to the Tab.
I want to find and save that aurora image so that I can play with other wallpapers, and be able to put the image back again if I want to.
I can't find the aurora image.

So, I'll ask, where are the wallpaper images stored? (and are they .JPGs?)
(Or, how can I download a copy of the existing wallpaper? and existing lock screen background image?)

Also, how do I set an image for the lock screen that's different from the main wallpaper?

When the phone is turned off and charging, I know I can press the power button to see the battery level but is there another way without pressing power button to see the level (or that it's charging/or done)?

my other phone Alcatel 7 had an indicator light and when the phone was turned off and charging, the light would come on and go off when done charging

Seriously, there are 5 handles from 4 brands and at least 3 kinds of blades. We haven't been able to fit together any of them. What do we have to do, call tech support? Somebody somewhere's gotta know.

hey guys i have a mpto e5 supra and i fhink i had a cleaning app that caused a boot loop, i also have another phone with the same App that was boptlooping, but that phone was Able to Activate safe mode, once it loaded up it said something like clean master has stopped, so i uninstalled it and then everything was fine, now this bootloop was activated by plugging in my phones, i also im not sure if i was using power clean or clean master, also this problem happened in pretty together, one phone bootlopped last night and the moro bootlooped today, now as for my moto i had to reset it because i couldn't get into safe.mode,now if one of apps is causing a boot loop it could very well perminatly break ppls phones, id really like to know how to activate safe mode from either fastboot or boorloader, or from the boot animations, i saw some Google pages that said hold down during boot animations but that didn't work, in advance thank you to everyone who looks into this and trys to help

I have a Samsung Galaxy J4 and it has really been giving me problems. My biggest concern at this point, is I've had developer options enabled for a while and this has never changed.... When I go into background check, most of my primary apps like phone, messaging, Facebook, device care, etc., Which I use daily show May 2nd or April 16. Other apps that I also use daily, show second, minutes, or hours ago. What would cause this??

I'll explain you my bad experience nowadays. My phone is a Huawei Honor 7C (LND-L29) and i'm having some troubles with it. When I connect it to my PC, the menu for USB connection appears and I select Media Transfer. At this point all good, but the problem is that when I select it, phone automatically selects Charge Only... I've developer options activated and I've selected by default, use MTP but also happens the same thing, when I select it, this one returned to Charge Only...

Could anyone help me?? It's so sad to cannot transfer files via usb for this reason...

Need nw themes and something besides galaxy store themes

I have a note 8 with Verizon, previously I had Sprint. Somewhere along the line a bunch of birthdays got added to my calendar. I use Outlook on my PC and I have a few contacts where I have entered their birthdays and these are the only birthday entries I want on my phone. When I open the calendar on my phone and see several birthday entries for a contacts where I do NOT have the contact in Outlook (Outlook is synced with my phone via Akrutosync, I only sync contacts, calendar, task, I do not sync my emails).

1. How do I determine where the birthday entries that I don't want came from?
2. How do I stop them from getting in the calendar on my phone?
3. How do I remove the entry in the calendar?

On the phone I'm using the calendar that was made available by Sprint/Verizon, I've never used another calendar on the phone.

I was able to delete a few of the birthday entries by a long click on the entry and selecting delete but for most this is not an option.

Where I do have a birthday in Outlook 2013 on my Win10 PC I do want those in my calendar on the phone and my PC.

My friend's Flip4 ordinarily shows that it's charging by having a blinking white dot under a nonblinkng blue circle, then 2 dots, etc., until it's fully charged at 5. It's not doing that. Instead it's sometimes 1 dot, sometimes none, blinking or steady, and the circle may be blue or white. I tried looking online for help, maybe a manual. I did find it but the pages are not enlargeable and the hieroglyphics are indecipherable. Please help.

So I needed a new battery for my phone with a lg-k9/aristo-2. I looked on amazon and they say they have aritso-2 battery but its for the k8. I was wondering, would this work still?

The twrp recovery it's bugged, when i start my device (Samsung galaxy tab 3 lite sm-t110) apered de icon or de twrp and t'he screen become purple, and then enter a loop, I can't use the recovery of my device and i can't not use the twrp and my pc dosen't detect de device.
There is some way to install a recovery without using on the device?
