I want to root my one plus 7 pro, but I am scared. What if I mess up, what is the worse that can happen? Is it worth it to root it? Is it harder than what it seems to root it or am I just overthinking? I would really appreciate some advice

I've tried updating it other ways but it says that I have the latest Android version. I just want to update my Android version!

How do I find out what to put in the region? I know it's CSC. How do I find my CSC?
I tried this:
settings > about > software information > service provider SW ver. it says ATT/ATT/ATT doesn’t that mean my region csc. should be ATT?

I also downloaded an app. called Phone Info and it says that my Active CSC is ATT. Do I put that for my Region in SamFirm and download it, then install it?

I want to do this safely. My phone is unlocked from AT&T will it affect the unlock status if I update to Pie via. Odin? Will it affect my SIM status (using METRO-PCS now)? How do I prevent from bricking my phone during this process because I heard it's easy to brick your phone via. Odin.

I'm developing an App in which users navigate through a tree structure using a lists, so the user sees:

root 1
root 2
root 3

After selecting one of those, they are on the next level of the tree structure and they see:

You are on root 2:
level 1
level 2
level 3

Navigating the structure is fine. My issue is that I also want a detail view for each item of the structure.
So right now I'm using tabs to show subitems in one tab and a detail view of the currently selected item on another tab. If you understand what I explained, you can guess this is probably not the best approach, as it feels a bit confusing/non-intuitive that both tabs behave as a detailview, one with subitems/levels and the other as an actual detail view.

The reason for navigating the tree structure like this instead of having a list of expandable items is that each item might have quite many subitems and scrolling much is not desirable. So the tree structure navigation solves that issue but creates anoter: I cannot anymore click an item and show its detailview.

I read the thread about ads in notification area, but this is not that. On mine, I start up my tablet and very soon afterwards a black screen loads two adverts. Its different each time but always with the black background. The annoying thing is when these ads are on I cannot do anything on my tablet, not even turn it off, change settings... nothing at all.

I have to wait at least 5 whole minutes before I can dismiss them. I do I get rid. I will attach a thumbnail of one of the screens that has come up.

I've tried various ad blocker apps but so far none of them have trapped it or been able to tell me what is causing this freezing up on displaying this set of ads.

I have no idea which app this came up with as I'd not downloaded anything for some time... its a delayed reaction. I don't play any games on this tablet. Help gratefully received.

Sorry if this is obvious, but I was a long time iPhone user before converting to Android a few weeks ago.

I somehow have managed to mess with the Messages app: suddenly, as I receive an SMS, an iPhone-like notification appears on the home screen. It disappears as I unlock the phone and view the received message. Image attached.

This is not normal? Or am I missing something?

Normal notification on the phone works as expected.

Wifi tends to be slow in nowhereville, but this is ridiculous. Yesterday I could barely use it at all, even after I shut it down on the phone, took out the battery and put it back, unplugged and replugged the router, etc. How can I fix this? Is it maybe a virus or hackers?

Whenever I Google something lately, I only see the top results. I get at most two results and then I see similar questions people have asked. That's it. It seems it's cutting off the page, as in half of the page is blank and sometimes right in the middle of a sentence on the results.
I've tried clearing cache for the Google app, tried restarting phone, tried restarting in safe mode with the same result, tried updating the Google app. Doesn't seem to matter if I'm on wifi or not, either way I get the same result. Any ideas?

Years ago I bought an iPad Air and I enjoy it very much, but its battery life is getting too short. Yes I know I can get it replaced for about $100 US but I'm beginning to think I rather have an Android and that money might be better spent on a new tablet. (I'd consider a Windows tablet if I can get a good one at a good price.)

Although I'm happy with the iPad, I chose Apple over Android because of the music apps. However, I found making music on a tablet is both more inconvenient and time consuming than on a desktop or laptop computer. So All I ever use my iPad for is 'couch surfing'.

There are some inconveniences with the Apple that cause me to want to make a switch:

1) Exclusivity: Apple likes to do non-standard, incompatible things like non-universal connectors. For example: the Lightning port instead of USB causing me to have more cables, more connections and more expense

2) File transfer: Even with a USB to Lightning port adapter transferring files is a major PITA. I took about 800 vacation photos in Australia last year and wanted to put a couple hundred of them on my iPad to show my sisters. I couldn't just plug in a USB to Lightning and drag and drop files. iOS wanted me to go through iTunes first. I don't want iTunes I had it on an iPod and hated it. So I had to upload to Dropbox (or equivalent) from my PC and Download to the iPad. Since I have a slow DSL connection (I'm about 3 miles away from the fiber optics cable), this took an excessive amount of time.

3) File management: Some people might like this, but Apple puts the files where it wants to put them. I want to be able to organize and move them where I want with a "File Explorer" type interface. I don't know if Android lets me do that, but iPad definitely doesn't.

Since I use the iPad almost exclusively for couch surfing, this is all I need from an Android tablet.

1) 9.5" screen is a good size, something close will do - also light weight is good.

2) Good battery life

3) Sharp screen display

4) WiFi - no phone needed nor wanted - I never leave the house with it

5) The ability to transfer files with a USB flash drive (I have some with the regular USB on one side and the mini on the other)

6) Apps: only 3 really needed - My Radar (I have this on my android phone), Flipbook, and a Web browser (access to Google Play Store is important)

7) Bluetooth

I'd rather not have a physical keyboard - stylus not wanted but it's OK if it has one.

Recommendations?

This is a very challenging offline RTS battle game that require pre-battle planning and tactics to win. Unlike other RTS battle games, there are no castles to destroy, you just need to reach to the enemy base to win. Also, the number of warriors to spawn is limited which makes it more challenging.

You have various guys in the game, 22 units in total:

1. Melee Warriors ⚔️:
• 3 lightweight melee guys that are very fast to deploy ‍♂️
• 4 heavyweight melee guys

2. Ranged warriors :
• 2 with firearms
• 1 with grenade attack
• 1 with lethal gas attack

3. Magic warriors :
• 2 with freezing attacks : effect varies according to the warrior
• 1 with vortex attack

Trying to figure out if Facebook app is glitching on my android device or if my controlling girlfriend could possibly be doing this. I know for a fact that she has been going thru my phone when I'm not around. Because my friends conversation with me keeps getting deleted off of Facebook messenger and unadded on Facebook and it isn't him doing it. So I password locked my phone. But somehow it's only my friends conversation getting deleted and him getting unfriended. So I put a passcode on my phone and it still happened after I put a pass code on my phone. So the only thing I can think of is she saw me type in my passcode to get in my phone when I was sitting next to her. I'm pretty sure Facebook cannot glitch like that but figured I would ask anyway and see what other people have to say.

Hey, I had saved my usernames and passwords on google chrome - autofill on my android lenovo tab 3, so when I wanted to sign in to my google accounts there were everything remembered by chrome and I didnt need to fill neither username nor passwords, but then unfortunately my android made some sync and after that everything was deleted without warning and there is just one my main google account where should be sync everything.
Do you know if its possible to return the settings to previous? Or how to get back to the previous cache (cookies)? I know there are some possibilities if its chrome in Windows or Mac, but how to find the browser data on Android if I cant save the data on my PC through USB (I can see only media but not system or browser data or caches).
There are no passwords saved on my google account (it wasnt sync to https://passwords.google.com/), but passwords was remembered by the chrome through different websites where I was log in by my google accounts.

I did a video recording on my Samsung J5 and it has a grey circle with an explanation mark...when I go to play it says "Failed to play video an unknown error has occurred" I cleared the Cache.. Hi, I'm currently using a Samsung J1.

I recently cleared 1.5GB miscellaneous data in my phone by going to SETTINGS-STORAGE-INTERNAL MEMORY-MISSLCELLENEOUS DATA-WHATSAPP(1.2GB) and WHATSAPP BUSINESS(300MB), I selected both data from the list and deleted. Good news was that my phone got an extra 1.5GB space which had apparently been hidden in the two WhatsApp apps as listed on that drop menu.

However, three weeks later, my miscellaneous data is back to 1.06GB but when I use the same process to delete the unwanted data, this time the phone does not display the WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business apps as beneficiaries of the miscellaneous data.


So even if I click on the folder MISSLCELLENEOUS DATA, there's no option to delete.

What do I do yet my internal memory has ran out and I can't install new Apps or download new files?

On July 16, 1969, my mom woke us up early, around 6:00am. We gathered around the living room TV and waited, with excited anticipation, for the launch. And then, there it was, a picture-perfect liftoff at 6:32am.

Four days later, we gathered around the TV again, and waited with bated breath for the first ever footsteps on the moon. At 7:56pm it finally happened!

It's hard to believe that was 50 years ago.

We are working with Audio codec interface with Hikey960 . We are facing some issue while we run i2s read and write operation. We are using tinyplay for testing i2s read and write operation .

Issue is that when we run the command tinyplay sine1hz.wav -d 1 on hikey960
It prints following details.

Playing sample: 2 ch, 48000 hz, 16 bit 1920000 bytes

But after 10 seconds we are getting error message as below,

Error playing sample and the application stops .

We run the ‘strace’ command over the same function . It has been noticed
at line 581: mmap failure.
at line 591: IOCTL Failure.

Is it related to any kernel version issue ? Any body have idea on this.
Is there any other method for testing i2s read and write operation from audio codec ?
Can any body help me to fix this issue .

I have TeamViewer host on my Samsung Galaxy S10+ which I want to keep active so that I can remotely access that phone from another phone. However, the TeamViewer goes inactive after only a few minutes. If I touch the phone, I see that there is a yellow dot that changes to green within a few seconds. However, I want to be able to "wake up" the TeamViewer on the phone without being able to access it physcially.

How can I do this? Is it related to the auto-sleeping? I tried adjusting the settings already. Or is there some setting I can put on TeamViewer?

Hi everyone. Any help appreciated... att has been no help.

A month or so ago I blocked two contacts. I am not using a third party app, just going into the contact and selecting the block option. One contact has an associated landline and a cell number (the cell they never use). The second contact is cellular only.

I have since unblocked them, but am still not able to receive calls/ texts. I recreated the contacts as att suggested, but it hasn't seemed to help.

I'm not sure what else to do, or even what else to check. I wonder if I deleted them from my phone entirely as a contact would that work, seeing as I blocked the entire contact and not a specific number or call? I just don't know. Any advice appreciated.

I got tired of map aps that cover half the screen with suggestions and other stuff so i made this, mostly for myself. I'm hoping others will also find it useful.

It's a fee fairly bare-bones map that shows current location, lets you search for an address, and gives you a blue line from A to B.

There is still some polish needed. Right now I'm looking for feedback on features that might be useful (while keeping it simple) and bugs or problems you might find.

I use the Gmail app on my Pixel 2XL for email. I have both a Microsoft Exchange account and a Google Gmail account. Previously in the Gmail App, I could choose either inbox to view, or both together. Now I can only choose the Gmail Inbox, or All Inboxes. When I choose all inboxes, it does show emails from both accounts.

In Outlook I have several folders that I move emails into. I used to be able to see these folders in the Gmail app (click on triple bar icon), but recently they went away. If I search for an email that I know is in a folder, it will show up in the results. In the settings section I can set sync settings for these email folders, but they are not visible when I click on the triple bar icon. I tried removing and re-adding my Exchange email account, but this didn't help.
