Granted this is only speculation and nothing has officially happened yet, but I don't know whether to be excited or scared if this whole ordeal gets approved and it goes through

Considering how huge they already are, they'd probably offer even cheaper cell service than Boost under Sprint could. I wonder if they'd leave Boost as is or try to convert it into some Amazon carrier. Hell, maybe they'd give further discounts to Prime users, how cool would that be. Maybe they'd expand it to more bands too, since Boost wouldn't be stuck as an MVNO under Sprint anymore, it would be "its own thing" now. This has some serious potential to be both cheaper and better service wise. You Boost Bois might really have something to look forward to

Of course, you guys probably know me by now and that's not what I'm concerned with. Assuming Amazon actually takes over Boost and turns it into "their own thing" this could spell disaster for Boost Motorolas, one of the modding community's best kept secrets. Amazon already has their own line of smartphones they sell subsidized through their site. Would this mean the ad-riddled Prime Phones would get locked down network-wise to whatever Boost would become? Imagine not only having your brand new G7 locked down to Boost, but being forced to have ads and even more bloat plastered all over the thing. "No problem, I'll just use the patent pending @bcrichster workaround to get myself some custom ROMs and unlock the network", you think to yourself. About that... Prime Phones are locked down bootloader wise and offer absolutely no way to unlock it, period. A lot of people found this out the hard way when Amazon first did this to the Moto G4 (with the exception of a few people who got their phones shipped to them so early that they sent them through Moto's unlocking program before Amazon had a chance to tell Moto to not allow them to do it). This has long since been patched though. Unless a major software exploit is found deep in Motorola's code, you're SOL. Thankfully his patent pending workaround also works on Sprint Motorolas, so let's hope Sprint stays the way they are so it's not totally obsolete

...But wait, along with this Boost deal Sprint would be becoming T-Mobile. If they transition to Tmobile's GSM network rather than Sprint's CDMA, that could severely limit the usefulness of a "bootleg unlocked Sprint Moto" since Sprint/TMO would have no need for CDMA band support in their Moto variants. If this goes through, the chances seem high that modders are very much screwed

Is it the case thaqt Android Studio programs, when compiled, build, installed, and run
on Android Smartphones, do experience floating point denormal or pronormal value
inclusion?

For example, what will the following code do, evaluate to true, or false?

double a = 0.1;
double b = 0.1;
double x = a*b;
out.println(x == 0.01);

If the final line produces false, is there a switch for the compiler or runtime that developers
can use to make denormal and pronormal discrepencies simply go away,
for cases that are like this, involving float and double? If so, what is that said switch?

After talking to customer service, I took my phone to an authorized repair center. My battery has expanded and bent the front and back glass and the phone was separated in it shell case. Phone works fine but was no longer water resistant. I have alway keep my phone on Samsung's wireless charger stand and from the repeat fast charging it has caused damage to the battery and caused it to expand. Samsung say that should not have happen. Repair center stated to unplug stand when charging is complete. Phone is 3 month out of warranty so $300 later I now am poorer but wiser. At least it didn't explode.

There's a small Cloud looking thing with a slash through it next to the clock at the top menu bar since the software upgrade.
It shows up red when the screen saver is on. What is that? And how can I make it go away?!

On my new phone (identical to the old one, Moto Z² Force Edition, Oreo 8.0.0), I restored my WhatsApp backup. It successfully restored all my chats, complete with embedded pics and videos.

However, some of the older pics display blurred; they have a button with an arrow and a very small size, like 200 or 500Kb. Pressing the button yields an error message that 'download failed,' the media file appears to be missing, and ask the sender to resend it.



BUT! The media files exist, in the correct WA subdirectory. They're full size there.

It's like an index or database needs to be rebuilt or something.

Any ideas?

I am aware the Apple volume buttons don't work with Android, but has anyone tried using the mic with the wired earpods on the S9? If it doesn't work, is there any sort of adapter available for purchase to make it work?

I want a location reminder app. I can find too many. My problem is there is one feature I want, but none seem to have it. Actually, not true. I found one, but it changes $2-3 month to get the one feature I want.

The feature? I want a delay in the notification. For example, I want a reminder when I walk into an office. Location reminders notify me when I get within range of the office building. The problem is I get in range, get the notification, drive to the building parking garage, find a spot, walk a block to the building entrance, take an elevator up 6 floors, and, by the time I get to the office, I've forgotten the reminder. Thus, I want an app I can set to notify me, say, 15 minutes after I get to the location. A delayed reminder. Is there such an app?

I have delete my GBWhatsApp account. Before deletion I have done a backup in my sd card.
Now when i m reinstalling my GBWhatsApp and trying to restore it its saying "can't find any backup in '/sdcard/GBWhatsApp"!

I've read here and Google, but can't find (understand?) the answer. I have a W8 PC and a Samsung S8. I want to access my network Drive (Netgear router) on my phone. I've found a fwe articles saying I must DL a file app to access my Network Drive. The ones recommended require I buy the app. If this is true for every case, I'll drop this request.
If not, is there an easy to understand way to access a Network Drive. FWIW, I think I have Sharing set up on my PC

i have a new pixel 3a. love it. one problem: i have my display set to go dark after 2 minutes to conserve the battery. when i am on a call, the screen will go dark after two minutes. i don't want it to. i may want to go on/off speakerphone, use the keypad, etc. also, i use the speakerphone most of the time, so forget about the proximity sensor. also, many times i will be in front of my pc, and during a call put the speaker on, and lay the phone down so i have hands free. lastly, under phone/settings/calls there is no option to toggle the display to stay on. any suggestions?

So I went to see the first showing in IMAX of Godzilla King of the Monsters at the Boston Common 19 this morning and a guy 4 rows down from me is whipping out his cellphone like every 5 to 10 minutes. hi there, i'm transferring music from my computer to my phone. i noticed that it made two albums of the same name, and separated one song from the ORIGINAL album and put it on the second album. i tried deleting both albums and transferring it again, but it keeps doing that.

what can i do to transfer that one song "The Conjuring" to the original album? more info btw, my phone is Samsung GT-19152 and i'm using the built-in music app.

As far as I know, in source code directory of an Android Studio project, the sub-folder 'armeabi-v7a' of jniLibs is for 32-bit .so library files while 'armeabi-v8a' is for 64-bit ones.

But sometimes we will find the sub-folder named with 'armeabi' other than 'armeabi-v7a'. Is armeabi the same as armeabi-v7a?

I have a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and it's worked very well for the year and a half that I've had it. This evening, it won't access the internet any more. I'm baffled.

I've probably messed it up myself. I was fiddling with various settings to try to troubleshoot a problem earlier today and may have turned something off that needs to be on or vice versa but I'm at a loss to figure out what.

When I try to reach websites I've never visited with my browsers, I get told I'm "not online" or "this site cannot be reached". I get advice like "turn off flight mode" and "turn on WiFi". (I can see a few pages in the browser that I have visited recently but I believe those are all cached pages.)

When I check my settings, my WiFi is turned on and it has my network name. (The laptop I'm using to send this is on the same network, which is my home, and the laptop works completely normally.) Bluetooth is on. Flight Mode is Off. Do Not Disturb is Off.

What have I done to mess up my internet on my phone and what do I need to do to fix it?
