I enjoy the Galaxy S5 on MetroPCS which "rides on the T-Mobile network". The screen cracked, so went on eBay to purchase a new, factory sealed S5 identical model, G900T labelled SM-900T3 UD. Went to MetroPCS and they said this new phone must be unlocked! Referred to T-Mobile and they couldn't help. This sealed package was labelled "Family Mobile" from Walmart and uses t-mobile. T-mobile told me to contact FamilyMobile (FM). FM told me they would not unlock it unless and until a year of using their service, and that's over $320 over three times the cost of the new phone!! Feels like being a hostage. Stupid me - - - should have purchased an unlocked phone.

Haven't opened the phone so have no idea if it has that small simm card, but at MetroPCS they are only $10.

Called a local phone repair place and they said that they can unlock it for $70 and it will take a week to get some code from a "Samsung server". Huh?

Any of you Android geniuses know if and how a consumer can unlock the phone? Must I throw it away? Give it away for a small tax deduction?

Anybody else HATE the Pixel 3 launcher? I would love it if I could revert back to the Pixel 1 launcher.

I'm tempted to try some 3rd party launchers but with the Pixel 3 only having 4GB of RAM I'm a bit hesitant to push it's boundaries.

I have a Galaxy S4 SPH-L720T which doesn't boot. I tried recovery with Odin, but I get "<ID:0/004> FAIL! (Auth)". The download log shows that the reactivation lock is on and most likely that is the reason authentication fails. Is there a way to turn the "reactivation lock" off somewhere on the hardware?

I saw an old thread related to copilot not starting on a Samsung. As was described copilot was functioning fine for several months. The when the start up key was engaged the page with copilot name on a black background opens for several seconds and then the tablet reverts back to the home page. The app appears in the background, but never opens. I hope someone has discovered the problem and can offer a solution.

Hi, I have the Huawei mate se. A more powerful version of a phone called the honor 7x. My phone will not download apps or update apps from Google play. It just says "downloading" but never actually downloads. I have strong wifi, this phone doesn't support 5GHZ wifi, but the 2.4 GHz wifi I usage is very strong. I have dual band wifi. Also, I read if your phone is low on storage then sometimes it takes longer to install things. My device has 64GB internal storage and I have 20% left. I cleared the cache of Google play and I still have this issue. Please help if you know how.

I bought a samsung galaxy s9 but when i take selfie, it takes the photo as mirror image. for example when you look at the picture later, you see that my left hand is like my right hand, or a text in the photo seems reversed, , reads from right to left... how can i correct this situation?

My phone is an HTC Desire 626 (not listed). This morning I tried to take a picture but the lens was foggy. I later noticed the lens of the camera is broken. Can it be replaced? I dropped my phone on my basement floor and cracked the case cover several weeks ago and have tried unsuccessfully to find a new cover . If I cracked the camera lens at that time, it didn't show. I make pictures almost daily and until today, they were ok. Help!.

I am not able to connect my phone to my Mint 19.1 Cinnamon laptop or Windows. I used to connect it. I am unable to see how to set the MTP option .I havent changed the MTP option after it was working. The file size is 1.6 GB so bluetooth etc wont work.

How to build a custom camera in which photo is not saved until I press the save button.

I have an Android 9.0 car stereo unit

Of course, it's permanently in landscape mode.

I have the dock set to the right-hand side of the screen, with the apps I use most.

However, when I launch an app, the dock disappears.

Is it possible to always display the dock?

The unit can not be rooted (as far as I know).

I'm happy to use any launcher/tweak.

I do not wish to use Android Auto.

So I have WAY too many screenshots on my phone, a Samsung Galaxy S8+. I tried connecting it to my computer and transferring the screenshots over to a hard drive but the screenshot folder only had about 3000 pictures in it. I know for a fact that it should have over 13000 images. Where are all of the others?

Was recently given an S7 Edge, and I am comparing it with my lgv30. the first thing I noticed is that it is taller than it is wider oh, and since people read text horizontally, I can't see as much text in a single window. That's one thing I could never understand with the Galaxy series, it seems like they would have gone wider at some point. Has anyone owned both of these phones? What do you think of them in comparison? Thanks

In the past month, I have noticed problems with reception breaking up and sometimes cutting out, using it in the same locations that worked fine before.
Also, I have noticed that microphone goes dead when I have my speaker phone turned on and want to operate hands-free. I'm looking at the actual microphone opening to see if there a something clogging it but it looks okay, and it works fine when I'm not using the speakerphone mode. anybody know what might be causing this?
