Kept all original files in Rom
( except odexx files of course)
Boot the Rom it boots gets to the set up wizard and says the com.android phone has stopped working
I am not connected to internet and have to start over set up and it brings me to the welcome page automatically
All while still giving the com.android phone has stop working error
Any ideas?

Could I use the strings.xml resources to have it stored some Firebase Database keys so I can retrieve data directly into these keys instead of retrieving them on database?

Let me explain: my app focus on three main topics, within these topics i have different sub-topics (for example pages, articles, musics, and so on), so there are few topics, i was thinking if i could save the keys from these topics on my strings.xml so everytime i would need to get an item from a sub-topic, i would already have the topics key, but idk if this is a good implementation, is it?

I'm trying to use the "app pinning" method on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A (T280). This is for a tablet to be deployed as device controller, so it has to be locked down to a single app, but I don't want screen locking, so the user can at all times unlock the screen and access that one app. They have to be locked into the app.

With the app pinning I'm running into two issues.
1) I have to set up at least some security to prevent the user leaving the app. A screen pattern is good enough for this. But when I set this up for the app unpinning, it does the same for the screen unlock.
The screen unlock I know can be avoided by setting the development mode to not lock while on power supply; the tablet will be connected to a power supply at all times when deployed.

2) and this is a major one: when unpinning the app (pressing the back and recent buttons), the app is unpinned first, then the security pattern is asked. This is wrong (and outright a stupid way of doing things - can't believe Google did this). As it is the app gets unpinned (which is wrong, as the security pattern was not entered yet) and the user gets locked into having to enter the pattern, with no option to repin the app and get back to it (also wrong behaviour, of course).

The proper order is of course to first ask for the unlock pattern, when entered correctly unpin the app, or return to the still pinned app.

Any suggestions on making this pinning work in a useful manner?

Or do I really have to look for a "kiosk mode" app? If so - suggestions?

The main issue is that I (and a few other admins) will know the unlock code, but we will not be anywhere near the thing when it's used. The whole purpose is to lock it down, preventing the end user from accidentally getting into the main Android. I don't care much of them being able to find a workaround, if they do and things go wrong it's their own fault - it's their device, so high levels of security are not needed here.

I would like to open a file on my android tablet and, by that action, open other, pre-programmed files on other networked (or Bluetoothed) android devices. I would like to use this capability to simultaneously open similar or related pdf files on 3 or more android devices. For example: Using it in a musical context, I would open the "Conductor" file on my device and that would open the "Trumpet" file in one android tablet, the "clarinet" file on another, the "flute" on another, etc.

I toyed with the idea of mirroring my "pointer device" (my finger) motion across all tablets. Making sure that all files are spatially arranged in the same order and physical location on the tablet. Unfortunately, that method seems rather archaic and prone to error.

Screen sharing (casting), which is used in educational settings comes close without the ability to deliver the correct files to the designated devices and multiboxing seems like a possible solution, but I don't know if it can be applied to multiple devices.

Thoughts anyone?

Was browsing the web (duckduckgo) and noticed my Galaxy 8 device randomly doenloading SWF files. I did not click any downloadable media and when i tried to avvess the file it told me i didnt have the proper app. Downloaded a free SWF file player and tried to open the file but nothing came up. See screenshot for details.

Anyone know what this is and why my device would just download it without asking me first? Anyone else have this happen?

Today I received my new phone and can't remember, or find, where I did this on the identical, old one: automatically dim the screen at a specific time.

The screen doesn't just dim, but takes on a slightly reddish tint; it's specifically an eyestrain-related setting.

It must be buried...somewhere...but I'm not seeing it.

Using Galaxy Note 9 I'm having trouble with how to arrange for calendar
event reminders that show up on whatever screen I happen to be
on.

I've tested with the standard calendar and with google calendar.
Following this formula:

After creating an event to occur in 20 minutes and with a reminder/notification set for 5 minutes before
event. Then go on to other screens but I see nothing happen when 5 min before event rolls around.

Can anyone explain how this is done?

Phone is Samsung Galaxy S9 and carrier is ATT.
My 19 yr old son has been on some trouble. I pay for his phone so he can pay down some other debt. With that privilege, he has given me permission to place a spy app on his phone to monitor his activity. I do not obsessively check it, but do monitor a few times a week to make sure he is where he is and isnt engaging in the same shady behavior that got him in this mess. A few times I have come across a strange image that looks inlaid behind home screen app icons and folders, it also appears the screen is larger and the system and status bar overlay the app buttons. Unfortunately, I dont know know how to add a screen shot here for you to easily view. The design is symmetrical and almost looks like a reflective image, but it's not. I only see this screen occasionally, but gut instinct or mothers intuition has me wondering??? Hummm. Is anyone familiar with an app that would perform this way? Or can you advise how to post an image on this thread so I can share? Looking for peace of mind or an answer that will help justify a conversation and consequences. Thanks all!

My wife is not able to receive or view pictures on text messages. Only thing that shows is a round blue dot that keeps going round and round. Not sure what happened she used to receive photo's.

Hi everyone. Hope everyone is fine. I am using Samsung Galaxy Note 8 SM-N950F model currently here in Pakistan. The network i am using currently is Jazz/Warid.
My phone was just working from past 2 months (bought 2nd hand from market). But today its signal just vanished out of nowhere. Everything was just fine. But suddenly i am seeing a message in my notification bar "MM phone Services: Phone not allowed for voice" and my signals were gone, showing "Emergency calls only status".
I have tried several tricks, like changing the sim and putting this sim card in another phone. The other sim card works perfect in my galaxy note 8 and the sim works perfectly in other phones. I am not sure how to resolve this problem.
I have also read a forum that it maybe blacklisted and you should check on imeipro.info. I have checked my IMEI for blacklisting but the it was showing a "Clean" status. It means that my phone is not blacklisted.
Kindly guide me what should i do about it.

If i download an area i have read that it only lasts for 15 days then updates. When it updates after 15 days does it redownload the entire map therefore using alot of days every 15 days when it updates?
