Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

6/3 order and my ship date has officially passed by without a peep from big red. Hoping this 5 day delay is a nasty rumor, but truthfully I'm starting to lose hope. :(

LOL.. I must say this thread is great!! Its kept me informed and entertained for almost a month... I ordered mine on June 3rd :/ My ship date was suppose to be 06/24 and here I am still waiting. We'll see if I get any email later on today.. fingers crossed!!!
By the way ... Im in FL is there anyone else from there that still hasn't gotten their phone around my shipping date?!?!?

For those of us who have waited three weeks, and watched our "Ship By" dates come and go... yeah, I'd say we're getting a little hostile. We are sitting here holding the proverbial bag...or in this case, receipt, with nothing to show for it except inconsistent excuses by CSRs who are apparently just as in the dark as we are. If HTC is to blame for this additional delay ...THEN LET YOUR CUSTOMERS KNOW THIS....as soon as you do, Verizon! (IF that is even the case...) We would be much more likely to focus our frustration toward HTC, and not continue to tie up your CSRs with constant and fruitless calling and complaining. We are not mushrooms, Big Red... trying to keep us in the dark and feed us Bull$hit is not an acceptable business practice. (And why, btw, I agree with Pe

Guys, you all need to calm down. Against Federal law to be delayed without notice?? Really? Good luck with that. I bet you they update their system with the information and thus they get around any issues.

Now, I used to be in customer service and I can tell you that they are just a bunch of people who get whined at by everyone and have little power to do anything. Yes, they have a script and often in situations like this wont even have to look at your account once they see it hasnt shipped. some of them will go the extra mile, but often there aint much they can do.

Whining will get you 1 (or more) of 3 results: 1. a freebie 2. a little extra effort 3. noted in the system that you are a PIA and thus every time you call the CSR who answers will know you are a whiner which means when you have a legit problem, you might get the cry wolf effect.

In this case, it looks like a simple case where Verizon had no idea how well the phones would sell. HTC neither. I think Verizon assumed the EVO, iPhone4, Moto Droid, and soon Moto X would have a greater effect on the sales of the Incred.

Those who await...... it is worth it. Especially with Froyo not too far off and right now Skyfire having flash. Now I just wait for my borther(6/2 to get his)

i work in cust. service too at the home depot and although there has been times where shipping dates are out of our hands we take care of the customer even if we have to take a loss. If the retailer of our product isnt sure about the ship date then I dont assure the customer that it will be at their house on or before the date of.

I feel sorry for them too and if it were me i would find more information about what is going on beside a script since IM the one that looks dumb.

If I were to pay my bill late they would charge me late fees but if they send my phone late "its not their fault." So if i deposit a check on the weekend and my bank cant come through with processing it for funds in my account so therefore i cant pay verizon wouldnt give a rats ass.

Dont get me wrong i know its not directly verizons fault (especially the CSR's that take all this shit) but like i said earlier verizon should hold HTC accountable for what they promised to them.

on a better note, for all those with close ship dates. youre almost there

Well first of all, Verizon does not make the phones, HTC does, so Verizon has no power over how long it takes. Also, the expected ship dates are just that, expected, not exact. These dates are also being updated every now and then, so you can call *611 and get the updated expected ship date. Also, the promised date you were given three weeks ago would count as something along the lines of ex post facto laws, where the VZW reps can not be punished for something they told you before HTC sent out new expected dates. Verizon is a large company that more than likely has a bunch of lawyers on staff, who would have made sure that they are not doing anything illegal when they tell you when to expect HTC to send out the phones. Verizon is just the middle man when it comes to the Incredible, all they do is present and sell the phone. If you have anyone to be mad at, it is HTC, and they will most likely direct you to Samsung for the delay, or even Fedex.

While HTC obviously bears a great deal of responsibility, Verizon accepted my payment for a product of which they are the final provider. Also, I was legally and explicitly guaranteed that my product would ship on 6/25- not told that this was an expected date. HTC's issues do not void Verizon's obligation to fulfill their end of the contract or provide reasonable compensation.

Verizon will be held legally responsible because they are the entity that entered into a contract with the consumer.

6/10 here. Now no matter how you shake it... you will have your Dinc at least a week before I get mine. I had no phone crisis so I just dilly dallied around.. reading reviews.. watching sales etc before I got off my a$$ and ordered my Dinc. I've been beating myself up for losing at least two weeks while getting off the fence. I'm upset with the delays with VZW, no doubt but I guess I'm calmer than some.. I'm two weeks behind and it's all my fault!

im sorry but can we please lighten this thread up. i understand everyone is frustrated and want their phones. however complaining about the legality of the whole situation won't get you your phone any faster. Pe

Hello everyone, I've been a lurker in this forum for quite some time and it has somewhat helped the time pass by faster... I don't think I've ever been this impatient for something to arrive in the mail, even when I was waiting for my college acceptance letters a few months ago!

I ordered my Incredible in store on 6/7, so hopefully it should be shipped on 6/28 as was promised. I'm located in Hawaii, so I hope that doesn't mean that it will take even longer to ship out here. I'm too impatient to wait ;(

I paid cash for the phone, and am still waiting. There is not much that I or Verizon can do. How can Verizon give you the exact ship date of something they do not manufacture themselves? This reminds me of the TV show futurama, when one character says, "I can promise you anything you want." You can see if they will cancel the order for you, but that is up to them, then if you do that, you are out of the time you waited, and the phone itself. If you ordered the first week of June, what is another 5 days?

People are missing the point. "How can Verizon give you the exact ship date of something they do not manufacture themselves?" - is not a question you should be asking me. The fact is Verizon explicit stated that my phone would ship to me on or before that date with overnight shipping. This was a condition of me handing them $300, thus they are obligated to uphold it- regardless of whatever supply issues they may have. It's not a question of how they could promise a shipping date, the fact is, they did.

As I have said before, a simple cell phone or a few days more wait is not the actual issue here. The issue is that I gave $300 to a company for a specific product under specific conditions. One of those conditions was overnight shipping by tomorrow or before. If I do not receive tangible proof of such by tomorrow, a contract has been broken and I am be defrauded by a corporation. I simply will not allow it.

im sorry but can we please lighten this thread up.

Sure. So I just took at look at Seidio.com and saw the new Innocase active. I would love to see those shipping soon, hopefully there will be more colors, but I think the white looks beautiful. Too bad I work in the car business, guess the white can be for when I get off.

This does not read as "an expected ship date" ....

Yea same here. I knew I wanted to get it toward the end of May but I waited till my "new every 2" update to finally order it in June. its ok though, it'll be worth it. hang in there! at least we are going to have a phone that beats the iphone or at least is a decent contender.
