Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

6/3 Order. Supposed to be shipped 6/24.

Emailed CS yesterday voicing my dissatisfaction. They've already given me the $25 credit after they LOST my first order, so she couldn't give me any more she said. She did offer me 150 minutes though. I haven't used 150 minutes in the last 6 months!

She loosely alluded to the 5 day delay. She didn't give a new ship date and did offer me the chance to cancel and refund. This was since I did mention the FTC and the fact they charged me before shipping it . . .

Guess we'll keep waiting.

By posting those pictures you are gloating because the rest of us don't have their phones yet. It is pure torture for us.:D

What apps have you installed? Are you going with the stock battery or an extended one?
syncing about 100 apps as we speak w/ appbrain, stickin w/ standard battery but might be ordering seidio 3500

How is that Case? I ordered it too, and it says the case was delivered, but i think the mailman stole it because its no where to be seen!
loving the case so far, your mailman is a hater it sounds like
Just ordered my Incredible last night. Estimated shipping date 7/26. July is going to be the longest month EVER :(
welcome to our little insane asylum, all are welcome here!!!!

Good afternoon all,

Day 9 of the Druid Incredible Hostage crisis.

Situation: Held hostage by Verizon over when/if the Incredible will ship to me on/near the already fluctuating estimated/promised ship date.

Negotiation points:

Should I cancel the incredible in favore of the Droid X?

Pros: Launch date of Droid X is quicker than my ship date for Incredible (7/21).
Possibly more advanced phone.
Get's something in my hands at this point!

Cons: Incredible is a nicer looking rig (try as I might, I cannot warm up to Droid X looks. Reminds me of a Texas Instruments calculator I had in grade school).
Pretty darned big compared to incredible.
Already bought accesories for Incredible.

Negotiations have stalled and I am sitting prisoner to this dilemma.

Email I received this morning:
Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for choosing Verizon Wireless, we appreciate your business.
We have received your order and it has been processed; unfortunately, due to the high demand of the HTC Incredible, your order is still awaiting shipment. Since payment has been taken we can not make any updates at this time. We apologize for the additional wait this may have caused.
Below is our expected shipping schedule for your area.

Orders where payment was taken on 6/6 & 6/7 will ship by 6/28

Thanks for the update! I haven't received an email like that (yet) and I'm a fellow 6/7'er so for now I'm going to hope and assume that our orders are on track. Let's hope for the best.

6/7 here and I haven't received anything either, but I ordered in store, so I'm not sure if I'm even going to get any kind of shipping notice. I guess we'll see once Monday rolls around.

I ordered the Droid Increidble on 6/20...I then called yesterday and told them I would like to cancel that order. At which point customer service told me they were not able to cancel my order and that I would have to wait the full month for the phone to get here, and I would then have to reject the shipment...

Has anyone heard of anything like this before...because honestly Im looking to get the Droid X and it seems like I will be receiving the Incredible after that even comes out.

Here is the last email I received last night:

"Good Evening Mr.You Still Don't Have The HTC Incredible,

Thank you for your reply. My name is Holding Your Incredible Hostage, and I am happy I was able to reach you by phone today. I certainly know the importance in making sure you receive your HTC Incredible within a timely manner. Below is a recap of our conversation for your records.

Mr. You Are Starting To Annoy Me, as we discussed, the five-day delay that was previously advised is not affecting all customers. These delays are sporadic and are not able to be identified until your shipping date. I will personally review your account on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 and review your account for your tracking number.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We appreciate your patience in this matter."

Most CSRs I have talked to, either through email or phone, have all offered to cancel my order if I wished to. Maybe you just need to get the right CSR when you call.

When is your ship by date? If it is close to the release of the Droid X, you could always accept the shipment and then immediately take it to a Verizon store and switch it there. If you wait and reject the shipment, you will have to wait a few days for your account to be updated before you can get the Droid X. The rejected package will have to be processed once it is returned back to Verizon. This is assuming you are getting a phone through NE2 or something like that.

It just occurred to me..you know what this whole debacle reminds me of?

Paying for a flight to go somewhere and you hear the dreaded message from the pilot.."Folks, I'm sorry to inform you that due to a mechanical issue, out flight will be delayed for a while. We apologize for the inconvenience".

I've lived through that I don't know how many times but what they don't tell you is that that while they are sorry for the inconvenience, they are not sorry enough to compensate you in any way at all.

So hear we go..flying the friendly skies of Verizon and we're in a delay due to a mechanical.

the least they could do is give us some compensatory peanuts like the Airlines.

I said that to them as well...i asked if when I received the shipment can I just accept it and just bring it back to the store to return it? They told me that I am not able to do this...I really hate their customer service they are the worst, none of them know what they are doing.

I hope this is not what Verizon's new slogan "Rule The Air" means.:D

Interesting that they told you this. I have been able to do this for a couple of my phones before.

Was it a CSR on the phone telling you this or were you in a VZW retail store?

My best advice would be try calling again and ask to speak with a supervisor and go talk to a rep at a VZW retail store if you can. If the store lets you, make sure you get his/her name before leaving.

Been lurking (I hate that term) on here a while and thought I'd post... I feel like were all at a recovery meeting,

ME: "Hi, My name is Huppert1978 and I'm a 6/8'er. I've been waiting for my Dinc for 18 days now. It's been tough but I'm hanging in there..."

Forum: "Hi, Huppert1978!"

I'm also 6/8 and when I called cs on Thursday I was still told that 6/29 is my ship date.
But who the hell really knows.
I'm gonna stay optimistic until Wed.

Glad there's more 6/8's out there. Thought I was the only one! I haven't got up the encouragement to give a CSR a call yet, but I'll be on the phone first thing Tuesday if I don't hear anything!

Seeing my shipped date moved to the middle of July brought forth thoughts of this Alice Cooper tune... Ballad of Dewight Fry which I pinced a few lines for your approval.

I was gone for fourteen days...I coulda been gone for more..Held up in the intensive care ward... lyin on the floor. I was gone for all those days but I, was not all alone
I made friends with a lot of people... in the danger zone

See my lonely life unfold... I see it every day... See my only mind explode
Since I've gone away

I think I lost some weight there... and I--- I'm sure I need some rest
Sleepin don't come very easy... in a straight white vest

I wanna get out of here... I wanna, I wanna get out of here
I gotta get out of here... I gotta get out of here
IgottagetoutahereIgottagetoutahereIgottagetoutahere
Ya gotta let me out of here... Let me outta here... I gotta get outta here
Let me outta here... I gotta get outta here...Let me outta here..I gotta get outta here

I grabbed my hat and I got my coat and I, I ran into the street...I saw a man that was choking there...I guess he couldn't breathe..Said to myself this is very strange
I'm glad it wasn't me..But now I hear those sirens callin' and so I am not free

Such a great song! My band used to do an acoustic version. Very fitting for our situation!

Well I'm off to relax for the weekend, even if I don't have my phone yet. Everyone hang in there and be strong, we're all in this together!

off to work now..... phone just died for first time:(:(
you guys play nice:D:D
Baby better get her rear end over here and hold down the fort!!!! I'm counting on you guys.

Talked to CSR yesterday who said that if your incredible is on backorder that you may cancel and exchange for the droid x on launch day....even if you received the incredible before launch of the X, they will exchange and waive the restocking fee as long as there is no usage on the incredible...i was actually debating going to the X, but it is so manly because of its size...lol!
