Remote Desktop via Android?

Scamp

Newbie
Has anyone tried a remote desktop application like VNC (which can work from a browser window) to control a PC via the Android?

I tried logging into my logmein account with the Android Emulator, but it gave me some kind of "web page not found" error when it was suppose to show me my desktop screen. So, it went pretty far into the log in process (compared to my Moto-Q phone (Windows Mobile OS) which failed from the start).

Could someone try to use logmein on a real G1 phone and let us know?

Thanks.

Yes, I know it's from March! But in March there wasn't a free Teamviewer app for Android yet. Now there is. Goto Teamviewer.com.

team viewer HD is a good application to access your PC/MAC remotely from your android.

Features of teamviewer HD for android.

Support your clients and colleagues spontaneously.
Access your office desktop with all of its documents and installed applications.
Remotely administer unattended computers (e.g. servers).
Free for non-commercial use: support family and friends or have remote access to your own computer

I have all these apps on my Samsung I510 and they work but the other day I saw a post by someone stating that the app Splashtop was free from Amazon market. I decided to give it a try.

It is by far the best of these apps. I can actually play Freecell on my phone from the computer. It is the easiest to open and browse my computer files. When I double tap on the phone screen it opens up the program without hesitation like with the other apps.

I use Remote RDP and like it. I have the Droid X with a big screen and most remote systems are set to a high resolution so there will be a little scrolling. Nevertheless, in a pinch, it does the trick.

Wyse Pocket Cloud free version in the Market, has a very cool mouse and keyboard option. Nice and it is free.

My computer is very skrewed up and doesn't give me admin rights, so I can't install anything, is there a remote desktop thingy that i can use without installing on my pc too ?

What type of control do you need? File access? Launch/kill apps? Send keystrokes? If I may be so bold, you can certainly use my app, ControlByMail, to do such things with your Android phone to your home PC. It's not free, but I'll grant you a free license (upgrades excluded) if you PM me.

I'm using 3CX Android Desktop. So easy to use, just type a url on your browser and you can access and control your Android smartphone from your PC/laptop desktop.

- read/send SMS from the desktop
- transfer files to/from your Android smartphone
- organize your contacts from your desktop
- access your Android smartphone camera from your desktop

Yes, I have tried using R-HUB remote support servers remote desktop Android application for accessing computers remotely from an Android phone. It is easy to use and works well.

Just throwing it out there, the OP posted this twelve years ago, of course, I not sure if he'd solved his issue.
