Backup app!

what is the best backup app to use when your gonna switch phones? i mean everything. settings, dictionary, calendar, sms, apps, data saved by apps, etc.

this looks good but i dont have root. im gonna be trading my eris for the dinc soon. i have apps backed up with astro, but what about the data associated with them? also, i dont want to ship back a rooted phone

MyBackup Pro is the best that I've used. It's $5 but worth it when you've got important things on your phone.

I believe yes to all with the exception of homescreens.

Titanium Backup is definitely the best. Take the 20 minutes to root your phone. Well worth it.

Adw will backup your home screens. Titanium requires root

I just use nandroid - personal preference is thru clockwork recovery but any recovery rom would be fine... and its free, does external or to sdcard.

I just use nandroid - personal preference is thru clockwork recovery but any recovery rom would be fine... and its free, does external or to sdcard.

Keep my apps on the sd-ext partition.. backup isn't really necessary for me, but I have root and back them up when I get bored of having them on my phone. Oh yeah, I use Astro to backup files.. for some reason the protection has been removed

Yes, except the Nexus One, but that is a special case.
