was told shipping order recalled by VZW
called CSR at *611 on 6/29
Told that CSR placed cancel order
I told her that the only time I mentioned returning it was IF i could go to store and get a cash refund. She told me that I could only get a check or credit to my account. I told her no I only wanted to cancel if I could get cash in hand.
back to today 6/29
Csr just told me that until she talks to the csr that put in the itts that IT cant and wont release the recall order to fedex. so I will not get it today cause she wont be in until 4:30 tonight. and it had to be already on truck
been on call 1 hour. on hold to talk to a super now long enough to type this out. and be told a super would have to call me back. told her no I would hold. Trying to be nice but its getting harder.
I figure I may be in the same boat you are, JA1234.
Consider this a warning to anyone who even ASKS about cancelling! Don't ask unless you absolutely want to, because it seems as though Verizon may cancel your order for just inquiring about cancelling....
Here's my full story on it.
So, I'm waiting for 2 DiNCs to arrive (ordered on 6/6/2010), and I sent an email to Verizon to see how my order would be handled
"IF" I cancelled my order it to pick up 2 phones at a Best Buy.
Here's the exact email I sent on 6/7/2010:
If I cancel my order (order#########) could I buy my phones from a local retailer that has them in-stock without issue (or extra fees) with Verizon? I was told by a live chat assistant (before I placed my order) that the HTC Incredible is in-stock and that it is now shipping immediately. However, I haven't received shipping confirmation and reports on the internet are not promising. I know for a fact that the Best Buy in Youngstown, OH has them in stock and I would like to switch services as soon as possible (currently I'm an AT&T user).
Please advise.
Thank you,
On 6/9/2010 (way too late to do anything anyway), I get a reply from Chris the CSR who told me that I couldn't cancel, that I could only refuse the fedex package when it arrived. So, I didn't respond back thinking that I would just have to wait like everyone else.
Here's the strange part. On 6/11/2010, I checked my bank account and realized Verizon refunded half my money on 6/8/2010 (why half? I don't know!). I called them frantic asking them why they cancelled 1 of my phones, but the CSRs Tamika and Philip assured me that 2 phones were on my order and that they would charge my bank account accordingly by 6/14/2010.
6/14/2010 passed without a payment taken.
I wanted something in writing stating I would get 2 phones, so I sent this email on 6/17/2010
June 11, 2010 I noticed that Verizon only charged me the amount of $213.99 for Order ###########, when in-fact I ordered 2 phones that total $427.98. Also on June 11th, 2010 (around 12:45 PM EST) I spoke with Tamika (Employee ####) regarding this matter. She informed me that she understood the issue and would speak with supervisors to correct the matter. I was to call her back at 5:00 PM EST to verify that my matter was resolved.
Around 5:00 PM EST I called 866-338-7390 and spoke to Philip (Employee ####) and asked to speak to Tamika. He said that she was on the other line, but that he was aware of my issue and that it had been resolved. Phillip informed me that I should see another charge in the amount of $213.99 on my account by at least Monday, June 14, 2010 and that both my phones would ship at the same time BEFORE June 28th, 2010.
My account has not been charged and I am getting very frustrated with this ordeal. Please correct this problem. If both my phones don't ship in the same order I will be forced to pay my current cell phone provider another month's worth of service when I wouldn't of had to in the first place if Verizon didn't screw up my order. That's really unacceptable. Please Advise
Chris the CSR responded on 6/18/2010 with:
Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for choosing Verizon Wireless, America's most reliable wireless. We do appreciate your business.
I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this matter may have caused. Our records do indicate that at this point both of your phones will ship by 06/28.
If you need any further assistance you can also contact Verizon Wireless Monday-Friday 8am-9pm Saturday 8am-5pm at 866-338-7390.
Thank you for using Verizon Wireless products and services. We appreciate your business.
Thank you,
Chris C
In the end, I tried to make this right several times and make sure they were paid, but they continued to tell me I paid and the phones were shipping

. So, I'm just considering this payment to me for my troubles.
BUT NOW after hearing your situation I'm getting quite nervous about only receiving 1 phone. I hate AT&T and the restrictions on the iPhone, but I have to tell you I've NEVER had this much trouble with their customer service (just their dropped calls). Becoming a new Verizon customer with the DiNC better be worth it, because I have a feeling my battle may very well be just beginning.
