"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

Another overall thought on this hunt, this time from my wife...

Whoever is running this could very well make each "finder" sign a non-disclosure agreement for the specific details of how they found the Droid. This could be to prevent other people from having an edge while looking for the remaining droids.

I just hope that if any are found, we will be notified by at least a new tweet.

Well, I promise everyone here that when I find one, and have it in my hands...I don't really care what the hell I sign. I'll find a way to get pictures to this thread. Between photoshop and proxies they'd never be able to prove where it came from. The only way they could protect against this would be to have each phone hid differently. Then, sharing how you found it would be useless.

But, as many have said already...they don't seem to be that smart, and with only 9 days left until the 15th.....they can't make this that difficult. Finding the phones the day before doesn't help them out with the "word of mouth"/"making friends jealous to rush out and get their's opening day. To get maximum hype and marketing potential, they are running out of time very quickly...and yet so many phones still have just 1 clue.............

Theres a giant Lucasfilm/Lucasarts campus/studio in SF (A bit far from Lombard though)

Edit: Now that I look on the map, it actually isn't that far from Lombard.

this was on the amazing race, they had to go to that lucasfilm studio,

i dont think it is very far from where everyone was looking.

If i was in San Fran. i would definitly go there.

I dont think the contest is meant to be over before they come out.

IT says somewhere that we "May" get are hands on one before anyone else does.

i think this is a great promotion but i firmly believe that we are all looking too much into these clues, any mention of processing power or camera ability or even hdmi is just to entice people in finding the phone, i think the when it references a specific place that is our clue. mentioning its powerful 1ghz processor or whatever is some marketing rep trying to add a little dazzle to his/her tweets..

I agree, I think that there are words that we have to pay attention to in those close but the camera,processor, screen size is promoting the phone

Droid X designate #13 is in the birth state of both Stan Lee and his favorite state motto. If he saw a Droid X, he might say “Excelsior!”

If there's 2 in NY, then the one about high humidity has to be in FL as well. I'm not using any logic. Just wishful thinking. ^_~

Also the college is listed as "Excelsior College, formerly Regents College, is America's first Virtual University"

I dont see both of them being on the eastern side of NY tho, I would think one in NYC and another one on the other side of NY?

I really wanted to check out Atlanta for one this weekend...but there haven't been any clues yet, and Atlanta is a big place.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more it makes sense to have more than one in NY and CA. I really just wanted to get more attention on the twitt:

"We've received a transmission from Droid X designate #4. It detects humans in the area. ARE YOU ONE OF THEM?"

The only part of that message that seems like a clue is the all caps "ARE YOU ONE OF THEM?". Maybe that with the droid hunters assemble twitt means it's near the capitol building in albany? [Edit2: There is an Empire State Plaza Convention Center near the capitol building as well!]

Any links to space/nasa/science centers? Hayden Planetarium in NY, Exploratorium in SF, ST. Louis Science Center, Great Lakes Science Center or John Glenn Research in Cleveland, Fleischman Planetarium or Henderson Science in Las Vegas.
