"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

That's what I'm thinking. It's going to be the day before release day or something. I don't think they would risk hiding a piece of electronic equipment outside or just in a random place without knowing they'll get the benefit of capturing footage of someone finding it.

Texas Motor Speedway is more of North Ft. Worth, yes, no where near the grassy knoll. I'm hoping/thinking this is just like the aforementioned Lombard St. clue, in that it's just getting people ready in the area, and then a more definite clue will be given soon. "Hoping" because I'm in Arlington and I hope I didn't miss out :P

Though I had previously (as in a couple days ago) thought about Dealey Plaza because of the X on the ground where Kennedy was shot...

go dig up the X in the road, lol.

Yeah, but that's really morbid, I can't imagine that Verizon would use that...

X marks the spot!

I would hope not too, I was simply trying to think of things related to droids or Xs in the DFW area and that had come to mind.

Which means it's perfect that morbid_realities should be the one to go there and get it! :D

Seriously, the longer you wait, the more people will evnetually figure it out. Did you leave yet!?

EDIT: Just noticed he is now offline...must be on his way. Sure hope he doesn't try to read this thread as he drives (like I was doing on Sunday...almost rear ended 2 cars!)

I agree with those that have stated it's early to be looking. Clues are going from more general to specific. It would be great if there was a droid sitting on a grassy knoll in Dallas, but the clue previous to that pointed to the state of Texas, now we're getting Dallas. Similar to #12 pointing to Ohio (The Buckeye State) first, and then Cleveland (Droid X Rocks).

I think after the state and city clues, hopefully we'll get more specific. I don't think Lombard Street is a street clue, i think it was telling us the city. And as they start filling clues up with new Droids, it will string out getting a more specific clue.

Folks are free to do whatever you want -- but i think searching the grassy knoll area is a waste. I do not think we have enough specifics. Remember, we had people searching Texas Motor Speedway, and now it sounds like it's more in Dallas than at the speedway. Who knows, these clues may eventually point to a specific Verizon Wireless store -- But i really do not think they are leaving these phones sitting out in the open in a major city for anyone to stumble across.

Wonder if the '6 hours and counting' is meaningful? Not sure when they start a countdown for a space launch... And didn't they used to announce to flight control when it was time to 'start your engines'? There is a Composite Technology Inc near the grassy knoll in Dallas which shows up doing a google search of the area for aerospace... Don't know the area enough to know if there was ever any actual aerospace launches near by.

No I'm still here. Was playing xbox with my 6 year old. And yes I could "accidently" wake the baby up...who's gonna give me a place to crash, because my wife isn't gonna accept the "but baby look at the new phone" excuse

I have my 4 year old playing Nick Jr games on a laptop right next to me. On my other side, is my 6 month old taking a nap on the couch. If I had a solid hunch on where a Droid X was hidden close to me, I'd be putting the car seat in the car right now and strapping my daughter in. They sleep good in the car so it's all good.

Just saying. ;)

True, they do...but not always. My 29 month old stays awake until the last few minutes! My 3.5 yr old passes out 2 blocks away from the house. Luckily, my mom was visiting on Sunday so she helped the wife with them while I was hunting. If I had to take them along, I wouldn't have gone. They'd slow me down and I'd start yelling and screaming...not a good scene. (Besides, how do you haul two toddlers up and down the crookedest street in the world!!!):o

Yeah my 2 year old hates being in the car and my 6 year old talks faster than I drive while in the car and then id have to carry one while the other tries to walk and talk at the same time in downtown dallas....nope
