"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

well if #13 is talking about manhattan, then there are 2 different clues pointing to nyc

i just wish the first phone would be found so we know what to look for...i still think red eye somewhere

I highly doubt any of these phones will be in a building. From the impression I got here and via twitter with the "grassy nole" clue...there were quite a few that turned up to look.

So, imagine Verizon hides one in a building. It gets down to a very direct clue, and 15+ people show up, running into/around the building. Even just 1 person trips on a set of stairs...LAWSUIT

Nope, I don't see them ever hiding any phones anywhere that could possibly be dangerous or on private property.

PS: I'm a larger person who used to play football. If it came down to a 'mad dash' if someone else and I see the phone at the same time...I could easily see myself "accidentally" making the other person fall. Understand? And before you think I'm a bad person for saying it...go to a baseball game and just watch what people do just for foul/homerun baseballs.......

Bring it on! :p lol

Premeditated (Aggravated) type of assault is what it sounds like, not a bad person. Be careful, If someone in your area gets hurt they will look at this thread ;)

lol See? My point exactly. And these are phones with a street value of over $500....Only me and 1 other of my friends clear more than that per week, after taxes. (Florida has low salaries.) So...imagine those who can't afford the $399 (-$100 mail-in rebate) AND the 10% unemployed who could just turn this phone around on a site like ebay for a monthly car bill....hell, I know my car payment is less than that, and my car's 3 years old. ^_~

I think in the heat of the moment, someone could possibly do something very stupid. I think Verizon has thought of this already, especially if they used a marketting firm for this. In this economy...no promotion is worth a lawsuit...and people always sue now....

PS: for any FL droid hunters...anyone try calling 1-800-ask-**** to ask them where the Droid is? lol (i hate those commercials....)

lol I don't worry about that. Lets just say that with my job I know very well about the laws and there's stiffer penalties for anyone who "touches" (legally read: battery) me. lol ^_~

Seriously though....with just 1 in FL...I know it's not out by me, where I live 40+ minutes away from both Tampa AND Orlando. If it's a mad-dash clue...I won't even leave my house to go look, unless I'm mobile in my car or work truck.

[..] say some Droid X phones may still be moving [..]

WTF? Does that mean more new #XX phones, or the ones we are looking for may still be moving?

The thought still haunts me though....if this is just a viral campaign punking us...these clues, both contradictory and not...fit perfectly well with a person just watching different tracking numbers being shipped to addresses around the country. Especially since the internet is claiming people have been getting them since Monday, and today's only Wednesday.

Ha, True that! I just liked picking on you for say that... gotta keep these guys heated up ;)

I swear to God somewhere, someone at Verizon Wireless is reading this thread and laughing there asses off!

I would say NO DOUBT, and man it would be great to have some inside info. I need a leak! A mole! Please some coordinates... or just ship one to my door already.

New Clue People

Droid experts say some Droid X phones may still be moving. What they don’t know is who will find them.

More pain

This could simply mean more to come past 21 or refer to #19 with no clues?

You know it. So they said one thing at the beginning (the phones are in place and aren't going anywhere unless someone finds them) and did another, as evidenced by the latest clue. We have suspected it for a while now, and they wasted a clue to confirm it.

I wish a X would escape to North Carolina.

I wonder if their is a mole on this forum.

I hope so.

Dear Mole,

I'm going to give up soon. I'm really liking the iPhone cause there is only one button on it, seems to be a good phone for the "Easily Confused". I bet these same iPhone users manage that ATT network too?
