HOW-TO: Get icons and multiple widgets on the home-screen

I was a bit annoyed that I could only have 1 widget per homescreen and no shortcuts.

This is easy to solve by installing a home-screen replacement, and there are several to pick from.

Personally, I prefer ADW-launcher, as it is open source and you can cep the horisontal, iPhone-like app-drawer, or you can have a vertical app-drawer like most other android phones. You can also choose number of home-screens (up to 7).

ADW-Launcher is free from the market.

Another home screen i liked was the Helix launcher.

Is there a newer version of the ADW Launcher that supports a background image in the application drawer?
Mine lets me choose different colours, but all the other colours wxcept black look crapy.

I'm using ADW Launcher too - it's very nice! Definitely a keeper.

Panda Home is another good Home replacement, although I personally prefer ADWs style.
