After many hours at xda I think I MAY have my 4G working well again but I need to have a few days of testing. I'm definitely seeing improved speeds with the new radio/wimax.

Those are some nice results. Are you running your EVO rooted? I haven't had any luck getting higher than 3Mbits on the download running stock on PRL 60667

Yeah, I had put my phone info in my signature but my signature isn't working for whatever reason. Here it is:

HTC EVO 4G
Rooted with toastcfh's method (1 & 2)
ROM: Rooted Stock Radio: 2.02.00.06.10
PRL: 60667 Software: 1.47.651.1
Build: 0003 (Epson)

I am considering running the latest Damage Control ROM in a few days unless something else pops up that looks more desirable.

I live in Astoria, queens, NYC and i live on a top floor 3 level building.
I do have 4G here. Its a little spotty but its here.
But when i'm sitting in front of my desk, thats in the middle of the buidling, i get zero bars 4G. When i'm standing next to my window or on top of the roof, I get 2 bars. I'm not sure about you guys, but does 4G have a problem penetrating walls?!? anyone else notice this?

I have heard some complain that the 4G signal is having trouble penetrating buildings. I have gotten 4G in my apartment near the window though. (NYC)

Have you tested your 4G speeds? If so, what are you getting?

I have tested the 4G speeds on the speedtest app.
I didnt posted it cuz i hear its not very accurate, but here is a lil comparison.
This is with 4G with 2 bars, most on my roof, during a tanning session ;)
I've ran about a doz. test and this is the avg. speed i got from speedtest app.
4 Mbps down (seen it over 5 but also seen it as low as mid 3's)
1 Mbps up
then I ran test with 4G turn off and only on 3G
1 Mbps down
300 kbps up
So those are the numbers that i got.
I can also confirm that there is 4G on woodside, queens. Thats all i know of.
Hope this helps

Yesterday (tuesday) I was in a location van parked on The Bowery near Stanton St and had a 4g signal all day. speeds in the low to mid 3000's dl and about 1000 up. Signal would go back and forth between 3g and 4g The difference in speed was very noticable especially while watching the soccer game with 4G signal picture was very clear and smooth with 3G it was blurry and sometimes choppy. Hope we will have it for real very soon.

I also get 4G while on LIRR between Woodside and the Penn Station tunnel. Have gotten speeds there as high as 4500 down and 1200 up

I def. agree with Capthr.
Big difference in watching sprint live tv on 3G and 4G.
Woodside has a good amount of area covered with 4G.

Well its been on & off here in East LA & full blown in Alhambra for the last 2 weeks. So testing has begun & hope Sprint's on time for the 4G roll out.

There is a tower or future tower in perris/moreno valley. Look it up on Sprints coverage map

I am in Anaheim and there are 2 Wimax towers that will support 4G right around the convention center across from Disneyland. This area makes sense to support 4G as you have a TON of tourists, business people at conventions and hotels in the area. Question is, when will they get signal coming from them? Hope soon.

Awesome!! I live across the street from the convention center!

Woot! Hopefully soon my anaheim/disney brethren will soon be cruising at 4g speeds. I live behind the disneyland hotel and have seen several clearwire trucks installing some antennas back here.

i live right next to the angels stadium, by the el torrito. i guess there more phandroiders then i thought in my local area:p. I just came back from vegas too using there 4G, and now coming back to 3g its such a big difference on how slow 3g is

When I purchased my evo 4g I was told by the representative that 4g will be coming this summer so I expect it to be out by the end of the month or by rhe beginning of the upcoming month. I also contacted Sprint and they told me that Orlando is on the list to get 4G this summer but they didn't have a ETA available to give to customers, you probably was at the right time at thw right place. They most likely updating their towers, I am truly excited when you said that you was around ucf because I live around that area as well

I live in Tampa, and when I got my Evo on launch day, the sprint rep at Radio Shack said that we would be getting 4G AT THE LATEST by end of August...

He also said it would cover from St. Pete to 1-4 corridor, and Sarasota to Spring Hill, so if he wasn't BSing me, its going to be awesome for Florida.
