1.6 and the HTC Keyboard

Prior to the upgrade I was using the HTC keyboard
I have read multiple forums about getting a version that works with 1.6 but, it keeps force closing on me.
Has anyone managed to get the HTC KB to work post 1.6?
I really don't like swype even though I have given it a chance.

Any help would be appreciated.
 
Im sorry dude,

swype is the best. You just have to overcome the learning curve.

I dont know if anyone has gotten the KB to work after the 1.6. Samsung probably did it on purpose :(

I still use AnySoftKeyboard. There may be better ones out now that we have 1.6 though. I liked being able to flick between different keyboard, symbol, and number layouts and the compact design. Overall very accessable. Its also free.

[MOD] HTC_IME (8th June) v27: Small fix - xda-developers
Use the low-res for 1.6 and up. It's got some customizations but it's all background stuff nothing you wont notice unless you really look into the options.

Also if you want to customize the skin of the keyboard you can go here

yea i do not like swype. don't like taht keyboard layout stock. htc keyboard is definitely more finger friendly for me.

Just wondering, do you know the difference between the low-res and hi-res version?
