"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

what was your search criteria? and where is it?

forget it...i got it. it's next to option B, and when i zoom in, it's next to all the locations
I only see the logo on a VZW store in the Mission. Not sure that really fits with the clues at all though, as there is nothing around that area that would lead me to believe its connected to Lombard st, cybernetics, or high altitude.

Although this isnt exactly on topic re: the search, I thought you would all appreciate a heads up. I just went into a Verizon store to ask some general questions, like whether they would have any Droid Xs around to check out before release in the 15th, and the guy handed me a demo device. Messed around with it for 5 min. Pretty much exactly what the reviews have been saying... very sharp screen, fast OS, etc. Tried calling a couple people but just got voicemail. I'm going to go back and try to evaluate the voice quality.

So if you want to test it, check your stores!

I'm just scrolling around found a couple other VZW logos.

Billings, MT
Rapid City, SD..

I keep searching and there seems to be one in like every city. (Twin Falls, ID, Boise, ID, Casper WY)

So who knows what that's all about.

READ THIS, POSSIBLE DROID LOCATION

has anyone noticed that if you go to google maps and search "verizon wireless" around the mall of america a verizon logo shows up at the intersection of 24th ave and I494. Just down the street from the mall of america. there is no store there its just an overpass. It says sponsored link too, why would verizon pay to put a link in an intersection where there is no store????????????????

if thats something else normal then i apologize for wasting everyones time. I've just never seen a verizon logo on google maps before

I did this same thing for Dallas, TX, and yes, only one logo pops up. But after clicking on it, then closing the bubble that pops up, then that logo goes away and it shows another logo at a different store. Click, close, repeat. For me (and Dallas, TX), it's not consistently in just one spot.

Yeah I don't think its anything serious.

If you go to all the possible cities there is a logo, but they aren't always verizon stores... If this doesnt have anything to do with it, its a hell of a coincidence!

But there are multiple places that the logo appears in any given area... When panning around the map if the logo leaves the screen and you go to another area that has Verizon search results the logo just moves to one of the other ones.

That may be nothing, I just did a search on S. California and found the Verizon logo sign. If you move the map around the logo sign moves to another location. On my is either a Verizon store or nothing at all. I wonder if those are towers

I just found it really odd that they aren't always pointing to verizon stores. some are middle of interesctions, parking lots, etc... Oh well, we'll have the answers to all of this soon enough.

Uh.. was this covered already?

Just an aside....There is a TV Series (I believe on TLC) called "Mall Cops", and focuses on the security force at the Mall of America. From watching that show, it is clear that if there ends up being an abandoned package laying around, they bring in bomb sniffing dogs and deal with it. So I wouldn't waste time going to the Mall of America and just looking around for a package....

So I just wasted my 4th of July because the damn thing isn't even there yet! Can you hear me say bullshit now Verizon?!
