"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

Okay, I need a few minutes break. Seeing her smile like that makes me want to just punch her that she beat you to it. lol I apologize for my reaction, in case Karen ever reads this. lol ^_^

here's to TEAM DELTA FTW!!!!!!!!! I'll see all 3 of you on this forum that have mentioned you'll be in DC tomorrow!!!

Dude I will be shocked if you or one of your buddies don't find it first...

yeah the phone will most likely be in georgetown, not that much area to cover so split M/O street between the 10 of you, good to go. is that what you will do? i use to live in the area so i dont remember much

Me and the wife(chiclet) were very close to this one.. I'm still kinda disappointed by it. We had been hanging around Fanueil Hall all morning since that seemed close enough to walk to most notable locations. On the first clue we were right next to the Union Oyster House which is a very old and well known restaurant so we tried a quick trip in there. After that, we were pretty split between trying the boston Lobster Co. and the Aquarium. We headed toward the aquarium but it was a mob scene with tourists so it didn't look like anything could be hidden there or controlled. After that, someone posted the coords for the Art Museum so we started heading that way. We came to an interesection where we'd have to pick the Art Museum or the Boston Lobster co. and waited for a few minutes trying to decide. That corner was.... James Hook and Co. After running across the bridge toward the barking crab and the art museum we got the official coords and by the time we were heading back over the bridge(and got passed by Chenry888 and his friends) we saw the crowd forming and knew that it had been found.

A few notable things for others-
1 this was a private business, yes the clue was outside in the public, but apparently we're not limited to public places.
2 this clue was well hidden, it's not just a matter of being off the beaten path. this was tucked into the slats of a lobster trap, the vzw rep told us that many people looked at a potted plant ~2 ft away that has lobster claws in it, but they didn't notice the envelope in the traps
3 the official VZW guy was wearing a black t-shirt with the Rule the Air logo on the back, apparently he was hiding in a car about 15 feet away watching the clue, if you see someone sketchy, you may be close.

I'll definitely be paying attention and maybe I can help some others out.

And I'm also wondering why Verizon is STILL doing only ONE phone per day!..I hope there's gonna be another hunt before today ends...possibly on the west coast??

I don't understand that either. I mean they could have gotten away with it, because at first it only promised you "may" get the Droid early. But, the contest rules end the contest on the 15th, right? So, that could get hairy legally if they don't, and if they give a phone away after the official contest rules expire, that means also their legal disclaimers expire. I'll claw that certificate right out of anyone's hands who's smaller than me. lol ^_~ I'm just saying...

honestly, i'm not too sure on the location right now.. georgetown IS a possibility but so is the lincoln memorial. We will be spread at all the major spots in DC , including the capital. So one of us should be very close.

I wish they would post a video of the guy who got it yesterday and the girl who got it today.

I hope we see a fight over one of those certificates.
