"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

This game is pure luck, they tell what city and then they give you coordinates. What kind of well thought out scavenger hunt is that! Its strictly being in the right place at the right time. I would like to know if the finders even knew there was a giveaway going on.

I'd just like to say thanks to all of you who put a lot of hard work into this. I've been following the forum since the beginning, and it makes me sad how poorly this contest is being run.

I've been following #3 the SF one specifically. I do live in the city, however it would take me 15-20 mins by car to get there, if i had one. =/ I wish they would have told us which day the SF would have been, but oh wells.

And seriously, 16th and Mission?

found!

Justin Schaur was fast. Got Droid X designate #3 from the Victoria Theater in San Francisco today at 12:13pm PST. Good going!

This thread wen't from being a fun thing to follow and and solving the clues with to everyone just complaining about how they don't have a chance to win the phone. Everyone in our society today is so damn entitled. Nobody can just appreciate the fact that verizon is giving out 21 free phones. Instead they just talk about lawsuits and how unfair it is that they couldnt win one. Sorry but not everyone gets an equal chance in life, accept it.

Well, if this thread isn't fun anymore, then just don't follow it. Done deal. Why bother to complain about people complaining?

Talking about fair game? I believe a sweepstakes probably would be more fair than running a hunt like this (not that I want a sweepstakes).

It makes you think. The street promo team running this gig has to have friends that they want to hook up in all of these cities. WHY NOT secretly tell a buddy of yours the location and have them get there first and act like they never met anybody ?!?!

Wouldn't we all be tempted to do the same? How would they ever know you're not friends with a verizon rep??? they wouldn't.

These guys aren't stupid and there's no doubt in the back of my mind that there are a few following this thread. Their not going to be putting the phone in a location that we guess, guarantee it.

Bens chili bowl for DC really???? DC is not known for its chili... what a joke.

Hey Guys, I'm new to the forums but have been consistently checking this thread as its the fastest, most up to date team of decoding or whatever people.. Anywho, Im looking to snag #6 as I live over in clearwater, but with this BS setup of a contest, I might not even be able to convince my parents or make the hour and a half drive in time..

I live in Tampa and think it would be a total waste of time to drive to Orlando and wait for some coordinates that someone will find within minutes because they happen to stumble on the giveaway.

I find this thread the most entertaining part of it all :p

I agree it is being managed rather poorly, but the cries of foul play are rather immature. You could say the same thing for just about any contest, even a raffle/sweepstakes. I don't think someone is going to risk their job just to hook a friend up with a free phone (although I know people have done dumber things before).

Not so much on the conspiracy theory. I totally understood the typos and retweet. I don't like this hunt b/c it is poorly run (if it was run better, may be less conspiracy theory?? idk).

i still think i've got a good shot at the buffalo phone seeing as how the size of the city makes everything close, and i work downtown...here's to hoping

I think what upsets us the most is that the same people that are bringing a really great mobile device to us is putting a really lame contest. It's like they don't respect our intelligence.

Bigman, Like louis was saying, I highly doubt they're going to put it on disney or universal property..So far most of these have been -outside- of popular places, plus the last thing i think disney wants is a bunch of sweaty people with android shirts running amok around the park looking for a phone.. Thats my 2 cents anyway, perhaps im dead off
