Apparently if you look at the whois information for the domain name T-MobileG1.com it is the exact same info as that of Sidekick.com which is run and operated by T-Mobile for their sidekick phones:
http://whois.sc/t-mobileg1.com

So a lot of people are saying that the name "Dream" is just HTC's name for the device and the model number DREA100 is also from HTC. T-Mobile will rebrand the device as the G1.

Hmmm looks like we might have to rename this forum! Will it end up being the HTC Dream or the T-Mobile G1?

Also, let us know which name you LIKE MORE in the replies!

I'm going to mix the two, and say the tmobile dream, seeing how they left the HTC branding out of the juno when they released it..

T-Mobile Dream would be alright but HTC Dream just has an awesome ring to it. I'm guessing they'll call it "The T-Mobile Dream by HTC" if thats the case. HTC is gonna won't their props.

I'm down with calling it either the Dream or the G1. Either way, it'll STILL be a conversation piece that no one will understand until you SHOW them the handset.

Other operators have give HTC gear different names before - AT&T call the HTC TyTn the AT&T 8525, and the TyTn II the "Flip"... T-Mobile doesn't have the long history with HTC that Cingular/AT&T do, so they could still (logically) change their naming scheme for the Dream/G1 and give it a specific name that only has their name on it.
