Why the fudge does droid delete all my texts?

Every few weeks or so my Droid keeps deleting all of my texts. No message with it or anything i just open my texts and there all gone. What the hell is causing this? I told verizon about a half dozen times and they told me that its impossible that its doing this...

im not sure if this is availible in 2.1... but in 2.2 if you open the messagin app and press menu then settings, there should be an option that said text limit.. make sure its not set to 0.

how about just turning off and on the device?

Limit is set to 5000 (per conv), Im never close to that limit, more like between 100-400 texts per person, its random.

Turning off and on the phone dosn't bring the texts back. And yes about once a week i turn the phone off for a while and back on.

this exact thing is happening to me and is why i joined this forum. it has happened to me atleast 5 times in the last two weeks. its annoying! it will delete everything and anything, randomly! :|
