Official 4G/WiMAX Coverage Areas

When the phone is acting as a modem the speeds are normally faster than what you get using the device.. .

Don't assume what your PC tells you (or cell phone for that matter). Using WiFi in my home I used to get test results from speedtest.org that were 12 Mb/s download, or so. Great, except my maximum rate on my wire was 10 Mb/s. If I used a wire, I always got 10 Mb/s or less. When I used WiFi, I got numbers all over the place. There's caching, buffering and all sorts of things I probably don't understand causing this, but I don't believe FOR A MINUTE that I really got 7+ Mb/s download speeds while tethered, just now, over 4G. I just don't believe it. Someone smart can explain how I can get 12 Mb/s over my 10 Mb/s provisioned line, then I'll start to believe the numbers.

For a real test, download a large file manually rather than rely on gimmicky speed tests.

Right... that's my point (and I don't have time to do it "right" at the moment...) speed tests are nice for relative changes, but absolute numbers should be salted.

At Barnes & Noble in Clark I got 4G on the EVO today! Tracked it to the antenna at
100 Walnut st. (Mack Cali building)

4G signal seems to be pretty strong in parts of Burlington and Camden counties. I was in Lumberton/Mt. Holly and had 3 bars worth of 4G.

There is no 4G in NJ

I guess the rest of the posts in this thread beg to differ.

I'm usually all around the South jersey/philly area and I'm usually always around a 4G area. I've seen as much as 3 bars jersey side and 4 right across the bridge.

Im in Ridgefield Park which is about a mile off hackensack NJ and i get 4g outside my house and indoors barely 1 bar but seeing that 4G is now available notification is PRICE LESS

Haven't picked up signal yet, but I'm going to be driving from NJ Turnpike 7A to 16E on Saturday so will see then. Will be in Times Square area in NYC too so will see about that.

Nothing here in Mercer County. Burlington and Camden counties pick up signal from Philly towers.

Where in Central NJ?? I got nothing here in Monmouth Co.

If you do an antenna search for Clearwire Spectrum-something-something (can't remember the rest) in North Jersey ('round Bergen Co.) it seems like it should be pretty well blanketed. Looking forward to checking it out next time I'm up that way.

www.antennasearch.com is the site.
In my experience, Central Jersey is any town north of Cape May, and any town south of Mahwah, as apparently nobody wants to be called North Jersey or South Jersey anymore. I've seen people from Garfield saying they are Central Jersey.

Still confirming, NO signal in Atlantic City or its surrounding areas.
I haven't been up toward philly in a while, so don't know where coverage begins.

Linden, NJ has 4G. I drove from on St. Georges Ave starting at Park Ave in front of the park..all the way up to Elmwood Ave. On the corner of Elmwood and St. Georges Ave is a fire station and behind it is a cell tower which is new and I believe is pumping out the 4G.

I can also confirm that there is 4G in Clark.

In Hackensack around the court house area theres 4g, Route 17 ramsey near the intersate mall a good 4g signal.

Jerseywill gotta get outta the house? lol

One week later and the St Louis 4G map is updated. There is actual coverage on the East Side of the river.

Looks like it is creeping ever so closely to SIUE / Edwardsville!

After seeing reports today of a 4G signal in Fullerton and Rosemead, I turned it on here in Irvine (near Culver/Barranca) and briefly got a "4G Network Available" indication, but it hasn't connected. I guess it's still in the buildout stage here, but maybe by Labor day?

The furthest south I have seen 4g so far is Carson and Buena Park. As of a week ago I wasnt getting 4g in Carson so at least they are testing/rolling it out.
