Captivate Free at WalMart

Unfortunately, I don't qualify for their w/ contract price. I already upgraded 13 months ago and my plan is only $90 per month. But AT&T is letting me upgrade early.

That's with a 2 yr contract! If you look to the right, without contract is 499.99

Nope. The 2 yr contract price is still 'FREE'. If I go via the walmart link I do see the adjusted 499 price now however.

I'll see what happens when I call them in the morning.

My order hasnt been canceled yet and my bank account still says pending transaction. But since it is an official advertisement, we can argue that they must sell the ones who ordered it for 229 to get it right? It would be illegal to deny an order for it I think.

Sorry if this seems redundant, but if I'm not the main line on a family plan but I am eligible for my 2 year upgrade, can I get the phone for free? (Assuming the price is not a mistake)

No. Read their fine print. There is bound to be something regarding them being able to cancel orders at their descretion.

My order is still not canceled. The page I ordered from still lists the phone price as $229 without contract, and I can't find any link on LetsTalk that says this phone is $499. Fingers crossed till I get my phone in hand and insert the SIM card in.

Here is the terms that I agreed to upon placing the order, there was no other fine print I could find and no link to any other agreements. No where does it say that.

Geez, what a surprise ...... what the hell did everyone expect. There was no way this would happen at that price.

Strangely enough, it looks like it's back down to the 229.99 price... I didn't hesitate this time. There's also a 5% off coupon here: LetsTalk Coupons, LetsTalk Coupon Codes, LetsTalk Promotions, LetsTalk Promotional Codes, letstalk.com

*crosses fingers

Edit:
Looks like it's back up to 499 again. Crazy. Oh well - we'll see what happens. Worth a shot, at least.

I ordered one(from Let's Talk) this mourning for $229.99 no contract w/std shipping and of course my order status say: " Customer Attention Needed". I called and customer service and pressed 2 so I got to talk to someone and they said I would get a call tommorrow to verify my telephone and address before the phone would ship to avoid problems and fraud. It is their standard operating procedure. Now will I get the phone for that price off contract, only time will tell.

They can deny an order for any reason. As long as they don't charge you, or give you your money back, they are within their rights to deny the order at any time.

They can even ship it, discover the mistake, recall the shipment and then refund your money.

If they accidentally put the phone up for $4.99, do you think they'd honor it? No.

In a brick in mortar store though, if they ring you up at that price and you pay, once the product is in your possession they can't do anything to you.

so this is my first post on an android site....been at an apple site for about 3 years now (modmyi), but am GLAD to join an android site. I went and played with the captivate today, and was still on the fence about it vs sticking with apple. Then i read the review at phonearena, and it put my a little more towards android. Then i found i could save myself 200 bucks and get this phone FREE through wally world??? come on, its time to switch to android!

my only question is, i am nervous about switching, so what is letstalk like compared to ATT with sending the phone back if i don't like it within the first 30 days and want my upgrade option back?? I don't want to save myself 200 bucks, find something i don't like, and have to be stuck with it and not be able to send it back. From my understanding, with ATT if you dont like it, you have 30 days to "try it" and switch if you'd like. Basically, is there any fine print behind saving myself 200 bucks??
