A little update about the delay would have been nice.Don't bother ordering through the phone either. I placed my order around 6am Thursday morning, and when I never got any email or confirmation on my account page, I called that night and was told it would be 1-2 weeks
So I'm trying my hardest not to care so I can just wait it out. For some odd reason, coming into this thread and seeing other people who haven't received theirs either makes me feel better.

That's really weird, since I ordered Friday afternoon, and it shipped that day. According to my tracking # from FedEx, it's scheduled for Tuesday delivery. Let the Memphis warehouse yesterday.
They probably ship from the closest warehouse to your location.Some warehouses may have received more than others or had fewer orders in their shipping radius.

I remember how excited I was when I got my Omnia i910 1-1/2 years ago.
Then due to "reasons" they gave me a Omnia i920 I was just plain gitty

I ordered over the phone with a supervisor. She said it would probably be shipping next Friday, but to my surprise, it shipped the next day and was set up for Saturday delivery. I would have had to wait until Monday because I missed the Fed Ex guy, but they had him meet me. I love this phone....The screen is almost too massive, and I have big hands. It's a thing of beauty and I can't recommend it enough. I'm coming off a Droid Eris, and I owned the original droid and dumped it because of design issues I hated.

I placed my order online at VZW at 0100 July 15th, I received my Droid X July 16 at 1530 from FedEx.
I thought VZW was touting that supply issues would be minimal with the DroidX especially when compared with the Incredible. Sorry to hear about your delays.

I'm surprised. I ordered over the phone on Friday afternoon and I just got my shipping notification. I was told it would ship by or on the 23, and I expected it to be the 23 because I usually have bad luck with that kind of stuff. Woohoo!

Ditto.....ordered around noon on Friday from a local Verizon store and just got the shipping notification. Should be in Wednesday.

Its more likely that they're padding their estimates a bit more rather than mysterious shipments of Droid X's showing up out of thin air. This is not a bad thing, but let's say it takes 1 week for VZW to get X number of phones from the manufacturer, but they tell the customer 2 weeks. This serves two purposes: keeps the custom happy if it ships ahead of schedule and it buys time if there's unforeseen problems that delay shipping... Hard lessons learned from the Dinc I suppose.

Mine too, but it's Fed-Ex 2 day shipping and shows it arrives Wednesday, so I doubt it'll be on it's way anywhere 'til tomorrow. It shows it was "picked up" already in Memphis, TN.
I ordered mine at the Verizon Store on 7/16 at 1331hrs. They told me it would ship on the 23rd. Got an email today that said it is on its way. Will be delivered the 20th or 21st.
Read your post, drove straight to Walmart this morning, and bought one off the shelf. When I told him they were the only place in the region with them in stock, he told me I was the first to buy one they had ordered.
