The Android love just really hit me.

I've been using my Samsung Captivate since launch and have been having a good time with it (I'm a former iPhone user and lover though). I've had minimal complaints but a few start to add up (poor multimedia syncing, non-market apps, stop watch errors, some lag, etc.). Today's gripes were was the finicky reception, and some people are adding that they don't receive messages correctly. Then I thought to myself "Well if I'm going to have a faulty phone, I might as well have an iPhone."

Then it hit me: I don't want an iPhone. I like what Android has going I like the customization, the speed, and especially the people on these forums and the developers.

I really hope these things can be fixed, I like this phone and OS too much.

The reception issues would be At$T's shotty network. Read link in my sig for media sync.

what do you mean by "non-market apps"? you can install any apk you have after checking "unknown sources" under settings -> applications

"stop watch errors" - try a different app

Can't do that with ATT. They locked it down. =/

If you don't want to mess around with ADB just download Android Central's "Sideload Wonder Machine". It's a simple point and click program that will sideload onto phones like yours. :)

read your cdma vs GSM article. Very impressive. Informative, not too dry, with a great history of how the cell phone technology got to where it is today. I will admit my head hurts after reading it, but I feel like I learned a lot. Great job.
I hope you will keep it current as technology moves forward. (Btw, I'm not gonna argue w/ you anymore within threads. Like a sanitation worker arguing with a nuerosurgeon on how to do brain surgery.)

I am going to do a write up on LTE vs WiMax.

What's the advantage of syncing instead of just dragging an dropping what I want to my phones SD Card?

I know a lot of people Sync, but I've never seen the value in it personally. I've never owned an Apple product either.

The advantage is, people who are too lazy and just want to click a button.

which button is that? "sync"? what exactly will it sync when i have 16 gigs of storage on my phone and 50+gigs of mp3s on my comp?

you gotta be selective either way and i don't see any sync software making the process any simpler than copy pasting

not really - i haven't installed any non market apps during the year minus a few months i've owned an android
the market has plenty

Still nice that you can, though. That's what Android is all about, choice. You choose not to, but that's YOUR choice, and your happy with it(so far), and that's awesome.

yes, i definitely agree with that; just saying, it doesn't "defeat the object of an android", tho' it does kinda go against the philosophy
