Help Samsung Galaxy S - Indian thread

Anyway, what is blocking you guys from rooting ur phone ? It's uber easy , a lots of advantages and can always go back to original ROM (especially in SGS)

Nothing. I just found this stock froyo good. Don't need other options. I've app2SD enabled on my N1. And I don't see any other advantages than themes/backup in custom ROMs.

As per Brut

Q: How to download maps data for some area (city, country), so GM won't need data connection?
A: Maps caching is really simple for now, but I plan to change cache format to something compatible with map downloaders. If you have some application that could save map tiles as separate PNG files in file structure like: Z/Y/X, then you should be able to use it even now.

MgMaps actually creates the files in PNG format, so it should work.

I still had lags with JM2.. But the sdcard fix removed all lags!

Yes, I flashed JM2, then flashed the sdcard fix kernel, then applied the fix. Everything working great! You have to manually add the APN information.
