Help Samsung Galaxy S - Indian thread

yep just saw in Systempanel, and as per my calculations from its data seems 330 MB is available....and rest as you said is used by radio, well is radio the system processes etc ... can you let us know what you refer to as radio ...

hmm okay, can u suggest any app to see how much is the total RAM and how much is used at present, something like 102/512 ... where 102 is available now out of 512 MB

Use the built-in task manager.

Just updated to XXJP2 and seems pretty stable to me. Some of the noticeable things are,

1 . Existing root update.zip won't work. I think the ROM is already rooted, but u'll need to install busy box/superuser to make stuff works properly.( or apply this http://www.multiupload.com/6OU2AGRSOD and install busybox app)

2 . Dev tools and Spare parts are included by default.

3 . Flash works fine!

Yes, I tried the stock firmware. It restores just fine. The only thing is that it doesn't update the radio. So you can still tell if the phone was flashed :(

Kalpik, I bought a SGS just 4 days ago. I rooted my SGS using the "update.zip". Then I came to know that I can't unroot it

without flashing the firmware. There is no official firmware of my phone.
My phone's original *#1234# was:
PDA:I9000DDJF3
Phone:I9000DDJF3
CSC:I9000DDJF3
So I have lost my warranty...and then I flashed a newer version I9000XWJM2. I googled for indian firmware backup and found you.
Yesterday night I did a nandroid restore with your friend's backup as you instructed with a great hope to get back my warranty.

It restores my PDA and CSC both to I9000DDJF3. But couldn't restore the Baseband (phone) version.
Now my *#1234# is:
PDA:I9000DDJF3
Phone:I9000XXJM1
CSC:I9000DDJF3
My Kernel Version also remains unchanged...which is now 2.6.29 root@SE-S603 #2. Originally it was 2.6.29.
Can I claim my warranty at this situation ?
If not, then I will be very grateful if somebody can give me a way out to get my warranty back.
Thanks in advance...

Sorry ! I didn't go thru ur last posts before posting. Then what to be done ? Is there any possibility to get I9000DDJF3 firmware (WITH MODEM FILE) in future from samsung-firmware or any working custom rom from anywhere else ? Can you help me to have a way out plzzz !!!

Just now I googled and found unrooting can be done without flashing !!! But already I have lost my phone's warranty..

Flash DDJF2 from samsung-firmwares.. That's also an Indian firmware.

In fact I would flash DDJF3 just before warranty claim (if needed). Otherwise I wont use that version. You are much expert as I am a new one...I followed u on this forum and other forums also. Any way to get just the MODEM file ? Then I would restore ur friend's nandroid and after just flashed the MODEM file....!!!

Thanks 4 ur rply. I already downloaded that but found only PDA & CSC inside it....no MODEM there:mad:
2 files are:
S1_PDA_i9000DDJF2.tar.md5
S1_CSC_MULTI_i9000ODDJF2.tar.md5
Oops! Didn't check the firmware myself! Too bad if there is no modem file :(

Guess you will have to wait for an official firmware update in India, and hope that all 3 files of that firmware are available! No other option as of now :(

You can also try the XXJF3 version and see if has all 3 files. If it does, you can flash that and hope that the service center guys don't notice the XX instead of DD, if they do, try and act dumb.. Sorry, but that's all I can say as of now!

Hi Guys.. Have been following this thread for a while and finally went ahead and bought my Galaxy S from Univercell. I had a question - how much is it taking for you guys to charge the phone from 0-100%? It takes me around 3 hours!! :O Is my charger/battery defective. I don't think such a high time is normal

Guys who are on Froyo; can you see if you can connect to Ad Hoc Access Points from wifi. This was not working on eclair and was supposed to be supported in Froyo

I guess if u are able to update your phone through kies(hope for the best although chances are minimum) after the official release then you will get ur warranty back.
