Help Samsung Galaxy S - Indian thread

Yes, I tried the stock firmware. It restores just fine. The only thing is that it doesn't update the radio. So you can still tell if the phone was flashed :(

Thats bad news!! its sad that we ll have to use custom ROMs to update to froyo :( :(..
Neways nice try dude! just hope we dont encouter any hardware problem.

seems like the froyo rom link is active now on samsung firmware site, anyone giving it a try :), pls share your experience with it ...

Early benchmarks says that it is a slow ROM for a froyo build. linpack-14.2 and quadrant-950. Internet and Wi-fi works fine though.

there seems to be another version of froyo available I9000XXJP2....

Even JP2 is not very stable or faster than JP1. By the way Flash is working great on JP2. I think its better to wait for next 15 days or so for a more stable and faster Froyo ROM.

Neone knows if its possible to update through kies after installing Custom ROMs like JM2 (without root)? Please tell me.:(

so have you flashed with JP2 ROM yourself ? do you see any new stuffs being added ?

nope i havent flashed it yet bt i have read on other forums where people have flashed JP2 ROM. They have done testing and benchmarks on it.Almost everyone of them is recommending to wait few more days.

Well.. I took the plunge! On froyo right now :D

- Root isn't working
- ROM is rock stable, till now, at least!
- Seems pretty snappy and fast!

Maybe after root u can try out lagfix... do u think that wud work?? !! :D

my download of JP2 is gonna finish in sometime..! :)

What scores are u getting on linpack and quadrant?
Did u choose "Re-partition" in Odin during flashing?
Are u using Russian JP2 or samsung-firmware's single JP1 PDA?
Please tell us some more bout it?

Quadrant: 1000+ not installed linpack yet.

I did chose re-partition with the 512 pit file.

Using the 3 file JP2. Do not install JP1, its buggy.

The experience is smooth so far! No bugs as such! I think anyone can try it out :)

DO NOT try the lagfix on the froyo build. The kernel is different.

Nah.. wont be doing tht.. was just asking..!!

And ya flashed JP2

well overall its nice..
Not fast pretty much same as JM2...
Many changes in UI... that i kinda liked... lil more animated and all..! :)

On other forums some people are reporting that some gameloft games are not working. Is it same with you? What about the music and video player or camera? Sorry for asking too many questions bt im nt able to hide my excitement:D. plz do tell...

@ Kalpik
Can you share the link from which you have downloaded JP2. Atleast i can tell my friend to download it for me. Just to save time....

hmm okay, can u suggest any app to see how much is the total RAM and how much is used at present, something like 102/512 ... where 102 is available now out of 512 MB
