Ostate24

Newbie
Just wanted to know all you Capitvate owners out there what you think are the top 5 or 10 apps you think every owner should have on there Captivate. Thought this would be pretty interesting! So lets hear them!

Root Explorer
SetCPU
LauncherPro Beta or Plus

Shazam :O Just kidding..

what are you currently setting your profiles at for setcpu?

I have default max 1000, min 200
screen off max 200 min 200
<50% batt , max 800, min 200
<20%, max 600, min 200

FoldMod (makes red pixel show up on screen to notify of email/missed call instead of LED)

Still looking for a keyboard that has alt numbers on the top line (press and hold 1sec for numbers) that doesn't lag. Wish Android or Samsung KB did that!

would you mind posting or pm'ing me a pic of what the FoldMod looks like? I found it online but cant seem to find any pics of it, nor do I have my captivate yet to install it on.

He's apparently changed the name of the app to "NoLED" and the thread is here: [App] NoLED - Use the AMOLED screen for incoming notifications - Page 10 - xda-developers

I'm not sure how to take a screenshot once I have a dot waiting... so let me see if I can find another camera and take a picture. I'll PM a link to you once I upload it.

LauncherPro Plus
Skyfire browser (does flash video from websites)
Dolphin Browser HD
System Panel App
Lookout Mobile Security (backup+AV+Locator)
Root Mobile (to snitch on AT&T speeds/coverage!)

You can download an App called "Screenshot".

Open the app, and enable Screenshot on Shake, then instead of
hitting the back button, hit home, so its running in the background.
Set the screen how you like, then shake the phone..

Why Google didnt put something like this in the OS is still a mystery to me.

Speed Test (tests download and upload speeds for 3g or wifi)
TV Guide Mobile (provides tv listings, and descriptions...just like the tv guide channel)
Pandora (I would descibe it as a music discovery app...you create "stations", by naming an artist, song, or album. It plays similar music to what you entered)

Twitter for Android (self explanatory - twitter app)
Engadget (app for the tech site - engadget.com)

1. Pandora (internet radio)
2. Congress (track what your representatives are doing)
3. Bump (transfer contacts, photos, etc to people with bump on their phone - transfer to iPhones too)
4. Weather Channel widget (self explanatory)
5. Nose Candy (funny game for adults that was banned from the iphone app store - that's why I got it - $0.99 - my only paid app so far).

1. Opera Mini - moved from Dolphin HD
2. AppBrain - best way to browse the market/manage apps
3. Nimbuzz - multi-protocol IM
4. ChompSMS
5. Google Voice
6. RadarNow - shows radar of your GPS location
7. SyncMyPix - syncs your FB contacts photos to your contacts
8. Skies of Glory - awesome game
9. PhoneFlicks- unofficial Netflix client
10. Y5 - auto WiFi management

1. Pandora (internet radio)
2. TiKL (Push to Talk. Still in BETA but nice thus far)
3. Launch Pro Plus (using the bookmarks widget)
4. Advanced Task Killer (paid version. Nice task killer)
5. Bardcode Scanner (self explanatory)
6. Flikie Wallpapers HD (Nice wallpaper app. Lot's of options)
7. My Tracks (GPS Tracking app)
8. Ringdroid (app to cut up ringtones)
9. Fancy Widget (a HTC Sense like widget of the clock and weather)
10. Quickoffice (office like app to access and edit word docs, excel spreadsheets and powerpoint presentations)

Barcode Scanner
Agenda Widget (highly customizable calendar widget to show upcoming events)
Battery Indicator (shows percentage of battery remaining)
JuiceDefender (saves battery life by toggling data)
3 (pronounced "cubed"—best music player)
Google Voice (visual voicemail and free SMS)
QuickOffice (office suite that syncs with Google Docs and others to view/create documents, spreadsheets, etc.)

I'll try to name some that isn't on the list.

K9 Mailer-I am surpised that no one said this yet. This is a replacement for the stock email client on the phone. I runs a lot faster and smoother then the stock one. Also your yahoo mail works over wifi! This is the app that saved me from going back to the iphone.

DoubleTwist-itune for android. Allow you to sync your itune playlist to your phone.

Home Switcher-Allows you to toggle between LauncherPro and touchwize.

Toggle Google- A must for anyone who use Google Voice. Allow you to toggle between making calls with: GV only, Cell phone only, GV only for international call, and Ask before call.

Google Goggle-Very fun app to play with when you are on a road trip or just board. You take a picture of something, (building or mountain) and google will give you links to whatever you taken picture of. It is like searching the internet with your camera.
