How To Physical Keyboard improvement

Haven't seen this posted anywhere, some might find it useful.

The flatness of the keys on the physical keyboard makes it hard to type without hitting incorrect or multiple keys. What I have done to prevent this is I have cut some small squares out of the scraps leftover from my InvisibleShield installation. I have cut the squares small enough so you can feel a gap between the keys. I used a toothpick to apply the small squares, no water was needed.

I think this may work better with some small round stickers with tapered edges, but they would have to be manufactured for this purpose.

Edit (11/22)
Added picture, you can see the space you will feel between the keys. I haven't had and problem with the sliding, the material is too thin to interfere.

Edit (11/23)
New picture, used leather punch tool to make round stickers. It still doesn't look as nice as the bare keyboard, but much better than it did. This has made the keyboard much more useful to me.

U did what millions of dollars in research and development couldnt figure out. They never even saw an issue with the keyboard lol Wonder if they did no focus groups or saw it on paper only and said "well looks good. make it!!"
Pics please I would love to be able to use mine

Yeah and there is actually space between the keyboard and the screen anyway so what the hell were they thinking?

Since this is my first phone with a keyboard I haven't really noticed an issue. I guess if you're used to something else this might be helpful but I don't see the point myself.

coming from the smooth glass surface of the Samsung Omnia to this keyboard I haven't had any problem. In fact I am typing faster on the Physical keyboard on the Droid than I would ever dream on the Omnia or My touch.

That being said, I realize others don't share that opinion and commend you the OP on your ingenuity. Good job.

No knock to the OP, do what you like, but do you guys actually think it LOOKS good? IMO, it makes it look horrible!

Besides that, if it helps you type better, I'm all for it. I myself don't have an issue.

I agree it doesn't look the best, this would look better if there were some rounded pieces with tapered edges. I had used the Palm Pre before I got my droid, and this gives the keyboard a similar feel.

Heh, yeah, but can you really complain? I mean, it's made out of SCRAPS. It looks quite good to me considering that! :D

Going to try it on a few keys myself right now...not sure I have enough scraps that I have left sitting on my desk from my [FAILED] invisibleSHIELD installation to cover them all though.

Just picked up a leather punch tool over lunch. Later I'm going to use this to make some nicer looking round button stickers. I'll post pics if this works out.

While the OP did make it look better by making the cutouts all the same size/shape, I still don't think it looks that great.

Some people wouldn't sacrifice style over things, one reason why I'm not using a case yet.
