Help EVO Bluetooth Car Integration Thread

2008 BMW 328XI

I had no issues pairing or importing the contacts. However, I seem to have a very poor bluetooth connection and everyone I talk with has a hard time making out what I am saying. My previous phone (RAZR) seem to have a much better sound quality over my car's integrated bluetooth handsfree. Any suggestions on improving the bluetooth connection?

But HOW did you get it to pair? I have a 2007 238i and the phone pairs but my phone book is all messed up. Rather than going from A-Z, letters skip and I can't access my complete list of contacts. The dealer couldn't help me. Any tips? I like the HTC Evo a lot, but if I can't pair it to the car, it's worthless to me.

I have a 2008 Nissan Altima. As with previous phones, pairing was very easy. Just followed the audio instructions. Never needed to look at the manual.
 
Even though I don't have an integrated phone system in my honda, I just got the new blueant s4 and its amazing, has streaming everything to the unit, and its voice activated as will as it read your texts to you ...

Definitely an alternative if you don't have it built in, and with froyo around the corner only more options will be available like the most important voice dialing.
 
2007 Infiniti M35x

No issues at all. Connects almost instantly after turning the car on. Kind of echo's a bit, but that may be the car more than the phone.
 
Anyone have any luck with the Parrott mki9200? I'm debating getting it installed, but I know there were some issues with it syncing with the Droid. I'm hoping there aren't any issues with the Evo. I heard that the facebook sync might still cause an issue (like it does with my Parrott 3200 :( )

Works perfect in my 07 Acura TL-S. Strange thing though, syching the phonebook with the Nav system not only sends my Phonebook contacts, but also my Facebook contacts. Annoying.
 
I used to have an LG Chocolate Touch and while streaming music via bluetooth to my JVC Kameleon head unit it would display the song names on the unit. Now that I have the EVO it connects and streams music just fine but does not display info on the head unit. Is there an update or app that makes this possible?
 
Works fine with my '09 Mazda MX-5. Took 4 or 5 tries before it would pair, but it's been perfect ever since. This car only support BT calling, not music, so I can't comment on BT music.
 
Rented a 2011 Hyundai sonata to drive down to south Florida this weekend and the integration was flawless. Sound is great and speak to dial worked flawlessly.
 
I would like to get a cradle for my 2011 328i, I'm not sure if BMW is going to make one for the EVO. Does anyone have any insight? I believe that if you have a compatible cradle in the armrest, it charges and gets better reception but the calls are still routed through bluetooth. Correct me if I'm wrong. Any info is appreciated!! :)
 
I've got a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta. I have only had to pair it up once with my EVO back when the EVO first came out and I havn't had to worry about it since. I just make sure that the bluetooth on the EVO is on before I start up the car and it has always synced up with no problems.

They def. won't make a cradle for the evo. Probably just iphone and crackberry.

Mine came w/ ipod cable, aux and USB. I've been charging/playing mp3s through the integrated USB port while doing calls over bluetooth. Works flawlessly. I don't know about the 3s, but 2011 1s have a neat little phone pouch under the armrest that fits the evo.
 
2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

Pairing was perfect.
Voice dialing was perfect.
Phonebook downloaded without issue.
Basically everything seems to function optimally.

Something I learned in this thread is that I didn't realize some cars support streaming of music, I'm going to try that next and report back. **Edit: only models with the factory navigation system support streaming of music over Bluetooth.

This was definitely a much smoother experience in the same car than with my previous TP2.
 
2010 Camaro + EVO running pandora thru bluetooth= awesome


all in all, it works flawlessly except to the point that I haven't tested out actual voice calls.
 
Kenwood DNX6140, worked awesome till Froyo! Now it locks up the phone sometimes, others it will just drop from the stereo but the phone will continue like it is connected still.
 
Dam the Phone still works great but I wish the BMW 335 worked with A2DP so I can stream my podcast through my car speakers wirelessly out of the EVO. Anyone have any suggestions to bridge A2DP to a car that doesn't support it (please don't say FM receiver)?
 
I know this thread subject says "integrated", so this my be a bit OT, but I figured I'd share this in case it's useful for others wanting BT with their factory units. BT is becoming standard on later models cars, but for those with cars prior to this time, there may be a solution with Grom and the Blackberry BT (B-BT) module.

For example: My girlfriend has an 05 VW Golf MkIV with the Monsoon system. The Grom would plug into the CD changer interface in the back. From there the Grom USB port would power the B-BT, with the B-BT audio output plugging into the Grom via headphone jack. Finally pair your phone with the B-BT. End result: Factory radio with BT Aux Audio

I admit I haven't tested this yet and is really only good for A2DP service. However, for those interested in retro-fitting BT into their factory radios without too much hassle, this may be a good solution for under $200
