Covert MP3 to notification/ringtone for Droid2

New to the droid phone/s. Tried making a folder called sdcard/notification but nothing. Thanks on any help

/sdcard/media/notifications
/sdcard/media/ringtones
/sdcard/media/alarms

Create each of those folders.
