My family and I are here in j-town in los Angeles (central & 2nd st)...turned on 4g and what do you know ....got 4g signal, only 1 bar though...went to speedtest and got 3.2 mbps dl and .22 mbps ul...fast, can't wait to get full bars in 4g here in l.a.

I swear they better hit South City when they roll out in the SF area... Then agian, the way my battery is now, I won't be seeing too much use on 4G anyways :(...

It won't be faster than my WiFi and WiFi isn't WOW IT'S LIKE MY COMPUTER fast... It would just be nice to load flash pages without waiting an extra few seconds... I rarely play video since it sucks so much dang juice...

Live in Lithia, Fl. No 4g here but just further north I'm picking it up. Was near the Mall in Brandon last night and was getting a consistent 4g signal. 3.2 down and 918 up. at home I still get 2.3 down and 620 up on 3g, not complaining.

I know there is already a thread about 4G in Orlando, but lets be honest, Tampa Bay deserves it's own thread :D

I decided to turn on my 4G radio on the way to work this morning and see what i picked up. On my drive from Pasco to St. Pete via 275 I got full bars of 4G from Busch to MLK on 275, and then from downtown all the way down the Howard Franklin Bridge on 275! When I was crossing the bay the signal wavered, but I was able to stream my slacker radio the whole time!!!

Sadly, still no 4G reception up in Pasco... but I'm still holding out hope!!

Anyone else starting to pick up 4G in the bay area? (I use the term loosely to include hillsborough, pasco, pinellas etc)

I am holding out for Pasco as well!!!

I had no idea my 4G was on. I picked up my phone to check my calendar and saw the 4G icon. I quickly did a speed test and at 1 bar, the speed was 5.7 down and .9 up. The second test gave me 6.5 down and 1.02 up. I am in downtown, right by the river.

Hopefully Sprint doesn't forget the huge chunk of people living outside of downtown. They've been testing for a while. I was told there would be a soft launch in September.

I see the 4g transmitters going up all over around the outer areas south and east of the city but very little are active. soon though soon.=)

What city are you referring to and what does a 4g transmitter look like? Are these being added to existing towers or other structures?

Got a nice, strong signal on the 405N between the 55 and about Beach Blvd today. 220 KByte/sec at 70MPH ain't so bad!

Did you mean 220 Kbps ? Even 220 KBps is 3G

3G is 600Kbps to 1.4Mbps Peak 3.1Mbps

4G is 3Mbps to 6Mbps Peak 10Mbps Plus.

Still getting a good signal here in Orange/Anaheim.
6 Mbps Down. .9 Up.

Other than a quick hit. Not seeing much in Southern Orange County just yet.

I work in Doral. No 4G here yet.

I live in Kendall. I'll test again when I go home, but I suspect there won't be 4G there yet either.

They're probably working outward from downtown. They need to hurry up!!! :D
