Official 4G/WiMAX Coverage Areas

Glad you all are getting to experience 4G here in Columbus. Hopefully it takes over the whole city soon. I can't wait.
 
Where are you getting this in New Port Richey? I am in Port Richey and am not getting any sort of a signal. I would love try out 4g though!
 
I had 4G coverage with 4 bars at Baker and Fairview in Costa Mesa this morning while I was filling up at the Chevron gas station. To bad I I can't hang out all day at the gas pump. LOL

Not really sure what the best one to use is but I'm using the one from the marketplase called "Speedtest.net Speed test" from the provide Ookla. It works fine for what I need but I have read a few reviews stating that the results are off. Close enough for me.
 
Speaking of hanging with your 4G coverage.

I am finding that during lunch I am staying close to my Local 4G tower
so I can enjoy my phone while having lunch. It is so nice to read multi page articles and check out a couple videos at 10Mbps.

I wonder when the official release for the west coast of Florida is.
 
OK so there seems to be a tower on the turnpike and almost getting to kendall drive, you cant miss it, its lit up like a christmas tree. Anyways, I have a friend that lives right next to it, so I went to test out my 4G......OMFG!!!

From what I've seen soo far costa mesa is almost fully covered... I have noticed there is a clear wire antenna on 19th and pomona next too dmv.. An antenna some where on fairview and baker... And an antenna at bristol and 405 and there should be one at 17th and irvine

So if your around there turn on your 4g and enjoy

YES!!! I can confrm this! (atleast the bristol/405 one!) Right now I'm in class at Harbor and Sunflower(which counts as Santa Ana), and I can get a bar of 4G! So that means Santa Ana is next on the list!! :D

*edit* if I actually start using 4g I get 2 bars, when on idle, goes down to one... and I get 5-6 mbps constant!
 
I live in Denver and was just on highway 36 on the way to flatiron mall and was using 4G. I was getting almost 8meg down and 1 up. it was incredible. I can't wait until they get more towers in the area.

nice NPR is fine and boring as always you know that. I came home tonigth from countryside and the cops are out in NPR i hate it soo much. Bob white wants more cops to hire as well. wtf our town is so full of drunks. Hopefully 4g is coming soon though.

No joke, i totally agree with you on that.
I make the drive from my home in Palm Harbor up to Spring Hill quite regularly, and I invested in a nice radar detector, and the cops are nuts on 19 through Pasco. Theyre everywhere. I do that drive a lot in the middle of the night too and I have gotten pulled over probably once a month for various reasons. Too many cops!
 
This would be a good time for us all to use Sensorly, the free mapping application that compiles results from multiple customers' phones in order to very accurately track the progress of 4G (and other) cellular coverage.

Also, please note that even here in the Washington-Baltimore area, where 4G has been officially marketed and is shown as "up" on maps it is still quite spotty, much like cellular service was in its early days back in the mid-80's. For the technically-inclined it is a neat science experiment at this point, and for others it is only a battery-drain, except for those lucky few who are very close to any the small handful of 4G sites across this large region. The same will probably be true most markets, including South Florida. It will be a gradual process.

As of last week and Monday, I never found 4G anywhere in South Florida. Mostly I am in the South Broward area (I-595 corridor) and Oakland Park, but was also down as far Fairchild Gardens (south of Miami) and up to Riviera Beach during the week. Now out of town for a while, I am wondering if anyone has seen any coverage yet in my neighbourhood around 595 and Pine Island.
