Texas.......let us know how it works please.

Everything seems fine.

Installed smoothly. All of my home screens, apps, emails, txt msgs, etc are still here.

Phone functions the same. Apps launch with the same speed.

I can confirm:
720p video
toggle led on/off during video recording
270 degree app viewing (not with home screens)
Vzw Navigator app (have not used)
Flashlight app
3G hotspot widget (seems to work, my laptop picked it up as HTC network.)
Google Nav still functions as before.
Amazon MP3 app

Will list more as I discover them.

I downloaded Google Maps and with the Nav a month ago, it downloaded an app called Places with a red Widget.

Do you have that?

The Android community is really geeky with rooting, ROMs, and other stuff, yet NO ONE has made the OTA update.zip file available for download yet? On the entire internet?

The problem is you have to get the update.zip file before you do the actual update because it gets deleted after the update process is completed. Most people simply click the update button and dont even think about grabbing the file first.

For anyone who got the OTA, can they post a screen (even from another camera) of the System Info. I installed the leak and have yet to find out if everything matches up. I also don't want to install the official since I haven't gotten 100% confirmation it breaks root. I'm going to stay on the leak until I get this info, but so far the leak runs perfect and I can tell a difference in speed. Apps launch and load faster and I though 2.1 was fast.

I read this morning in XDA that there was confirmation from the Unrevoked folks that the OTA did not patch the exploit they used to achieve their success. Therefore, it breaks root for now but you should see something in short order from Unrevoked to get it back. FWIW.

edit: Or, of course, you could use Unrevoked FOREVER and do the revert back to stock, get the update and use your S-OFF.

To be honest, it appears to be about the same. I'm not a power user so I may not notice anything drastic. Definitely not slower.

That is disappointing then. Maybe battery life will improve. Otherwise I do not see any huge improvements in this update

If you don't want to deal with the technical complexities of installing RUU manually, then yes you can wipe after the OTA update. However, I have absolutely no desire to do so unless I have serious issues after the update. For the same reason I still have XP - when I build a new computer later this year I'll install Windows 7. I have no interest in spending days reinstalling all my applications, games, updates, patches, data, drivers, settings, etc. etc. until necessary. So, no it's generally not necessary to wipe after the OTA if everything is working fine.

One other comment - are we 100% certain the leaked RUU is identical to the OTA version?

How do you grab the update zip file?
