I am in orlando and typing this post over my 4G connection. Assbait.

I want to reply "your mom"... but being that I'm not going to stoop down to your level of calling people Assbait, I'll just forward this to the original poster of this thread who now seems to be a Moderator too. Lucky me. Bye buddy.

Just got off the phone with Sprint. They informed me that Orlando is not yet a full 4G city, but there are areas of coverage depending on where in town you live. Unfortunetly I'm at work and have nothing for a signal... can't wait to get home to see if I have it in my home area!

Okay... off the forums for me, back to work.

Seriously did you even look at the links you posted before listing out a bunch of random cities? I don't know about people anymore. I usually look at my post and do a little bit of research before I go and make claims. Oh well looks like Sprint lied to us about having 4g in central Florida "sometime in August" unless they flip the switch on or before the last day of the month at 11:59.59 p.m.

There was no original date just a estimated date as in by the end of the summer. you should have 4G in the Florida Mall area because I do at the Subway across from the Mall and at the Sprint store next to the OutBack, also must areas in Orlando have 4G just not officially.

I am a field employee and use the 4G all over GR. It is very quick and worth the extra money per month.

This is a great phone/camera/computer I can carry in my pocket.

I have not done speed tests. Don't really care what speed I am getting as long as things load when I ask them to. :)

hmm in flushing, queens, NY i'll get the 4G icon but no bars where I am at, but thats an upgrade over the nothing i was getting a few weeks ago... i know its in the maspeth/woodside area, so maybe its working its way over...

A couple weeks ago I noticed I was able to get it in the back yard which I hadn't been able to do. Now, it works inside the house...though with spotty up/down (fluctuates 1.7 down to .5 down, with crap upload). Still, it's heartening to see that clearly Clear (nyuk nyuk!) is patching up holes of coverage here in Houston. So, be happy for me

or else! :D

Sorry if its been mentioned before but there was a poor signal detected around van nuys,ca Flyaway. My first to have seen since I got evo months ago. I am now vacationing in Maui and experienced a strong 4g signal. The island has great Sprint coverage except maybe some mountainous or hilly areas like Hana.

I'm a bit confused about Sensorly. According to it, I have 4G coverage in Montclair, NJ (at least I think it does -- my location is inside a blue cloud). But my phone won't lock onto a 4G signal for beans.

Is this an inconsistency with the maps or am I doing something wrong?

Yeah lets move this thread around as well. Lol

Well, someone needs to add Tampa to the list, and also a Clearwater or Palm Harbor to the list. I was at starbucks today, and instead of using their 1MB WiFi, I used 4G at 7.3mbps download. Pictures to prove it.

Wow, was not expecting it but just saw endgaget say that Providence was lite up for 4G. Just had my first taste of 4G this weekend when i was in ny and it was good where i had it and was not thinking we would have it anytime soon here, let alone at my house, whenever i asked sprint they never gave me an answer. But turn it on right now and getting one bar which is getting me speeds 10x faster than the 3g i got here. 3Mbs with 4g, was getting at or below 300kpbs at my house with 3g. This is great, i guess T-mobile really got them moving here in the northeast as they have had hspa+ here in RI for a month or two and advertising it as 4g speeds. I am in west Cranston, about 15mins from downtown providence. I did see on antenna web a couple of months ago there are several clear spots within a 1mile radius of my house, hopefully it will just get better. Now i can be at peace with the $10 fee :)

Picked up 4G in Queens NYC this weekend along the 7 train line, pretty spectacular speed.

Yeah I'm in North Providence and just saw the report. I turned this baby on and she's singing sweetly at about 5Mbps indoors. I'll test it when I head out later.

I saw a Clear truck in front of me today...I was actually following it without knowing in traffic for about five minutes on US1 in Pinecrest before I bothered to read the company's name and noticed that it said Clear. It's a sign of progress but at the same time a tease :(

Yeah, pulled down 10.58mbs on 95 while i was stuck in traffic heading up to providence this afternoon. At my brothers place on the line between North P and Prov I was consistency getting over 6Mbs. Lost it when we went to Providence Place however. My place in Cranston is not a 4g area on Clear's map, it is shaded as a future area, but i still get one bar, even with no bars just the 4g symbol i still get 1mb which is still better than 3g. Also decided to head over to the sprint store since i was near one today to check out the epic and did some speed tests on that and the stores evo and my evo and got the same speeds, seems like the PRI does not effect 4g as i have the 1.34, which is good since i am sick of trying to get it to update. The Evos did better than the epic, around 6-8mbs, the epic was getting 5-6mbs. Upload speeds are not that great.

A whole bunch of South Florida locations were added to the rumored list. Although the article says the upgrades are coming I only use direct Sprint or Clearwire sources to confirm. Thanks adolan for the great info! Now I won't have to worry about a dead zone for a while :D
Sep 01 had 4g coverage in the Delray Bch/ Boca Raton border along I-95. Entering Boca it disappeared.

I didn't see this mentioned but I noticed on the clear coverage map that when you check your area it will show you if there is wimax towers on your area it will show where they are, I am at the Maitland area of Orlando and not officially with 4G coverage (the rumor is that it will be official on the 19th) and when I pull my area it shows a tower just across the street from me. BTW I have been using 4G for the last 6 weeks.

Getting good thruput (510K byte/sec DL), if not a good signal (1 bar, sporadically) in Orange County (CA) in Irvine at Barranca and Culver.

(I still don't understand why the Mods turned a series of convenient, regionally-specific series of threads into the scrambled mess that is this current thread, though.)

Just wanted to let ya know that I got a 4G signal at Cty Rd 42 and 5 in Burnsville and that signal went all the way down to 35E. Its expanding...

9/3/2010 - Got a 4G signal at 35W and 494 south today in Best Buy's parking lot (a few miles west of Mall of America). I had read that 4G was showing up in Brooklyn Park, Rogers, and other areas including Bloomington, Minnesota.

BUT, its still in 'testing'. The speedtest was .5Mbps download and .5Mbps upload. 3G testing at the same location was 1Mbps download and .3Mbps upload. The 4G isn't of any benefit as its apparently being throttled.

So Minnesota, be patient...its almost here

OP has been out of date, despite having been recently edited, for a long time.

Utah - Salt Lake City has been official since early/mid July.

Coverage maps also show good coverage (which I can personally confirm) for most of Davis County (from Kaysville to North Ogden)
North of Salt Lake and up to just past Lagoon is a 4g dead zone.

not sure if other cities are showing this too but the map for RI is totally off, you can actually tell by the shape of the coverage that should be at the shore but is shifted and showing a lot of coverage in Narragansett bay, the whole coverage layer on the map is shifted about 5-10 miles. Might lose clear some customers, since people putting in their address will get wrong info.

4g was working in Tampa,FL areas for weeks with speedtest.net showing 7+ Mbps in one area but gone again now as of Sept. 2.

Orlando,FL was working along I-4 Sept. 3

Nice to see we are getting closer...
