Sprint EPIC 4G Useless Indoors

At my home in Haverhill, MA it works like a charm outside....full boat signal and it flies speed wise.

Walk in the house and the signal drops to a fragile connection.

Assuming it was just a fluke at my house, I tried it this morning in Boston as well while going to a project meeting.

Same thing...wonderful signal outside with great up and down speeds....walk indoors and POOF...it's gone.

What good is it if it only works OUTDOORS?

Are others finding this issue as well?

I have started a thread on the SPRINT website about this as well since it seems that SPRINT actually does monitor those threads and gives them attention...

they use a higher frequency than ATT and verizon so building penetration will not be as good, but are you sure its not working? did you try making a call?

I didn't go by a call...I was looking at my up and down speeds which drop to nothing and in fact, the minute I've walked inside anywhere with 4G service, the 4G very frequently disconnects.

This could either go to Support/Troubleshooting or to Sprint>4G discussion.

Moved to Sprint>4G Discussion for the time being.

4G is an even higher frequency, expecting that to work in a building is going to be a slim to none chance. 3G will also drop pretty low inside buildings.

4G works pretty much close to the edges of a building...with a good signal outside. In fact, Clear recommends that their wireless modems for home access be placed next to a window, in a high location. Fun. This would be the same for 4G on a phone.

4G works in every corner of my house actually and it even works all through the inside of my job as well (Library), except for in the basement. I can literally be on 4G all day without it disconnecting at all. I'm getting decent speeds too (5-7mbps). I can have 4G on the whole day going to work and coming back home no problem as well. 4G works the whole way. With 4g left on the whole day and using the phone moderately to heavily, my battery lasts about 12 hours and 25 minutes.

Just my experience with 4G thus far and I am extremely happy with it to say the least :D. Wireless Tether is awsome over 4G as well. I am impressed with how strong it holds onto the 4G signal. Its even stronger than my Moment was using 3G because that sometimes would switch into 2G randomly but with this phone it doesn't even switch to 3G hardly. Lucky me I guess

depends on the structure of the building and roof and such. concrete and brick isn't going to penetrate as well.
