Help gmail log in issue...how do i hard reset, its the only way

i did a little research and found that if you lock yourself out of your phone via the pattern or number lock, you wont be able to get back in using your gmail and password, it just wont work. i was certain of my password and email just like other that i read about having the same problem

so dont do that

but i did so i need to hard reset my i1 while its locked some help me please

Okay so I have personally tested this method about 30 seconds ago to verify its effectiveness.

This is what you do:
Hold down both volume buttons, send call button (green bar), center button (circle), and end call button (red bar).

When you hold all 5 (pretty insane to press 5..) it should boot into a hard reset. Like I said I just tried this before posting and I verify it works.
