Slow market speeds

Anyone else experiencing slow download speeds from only the market? Just started happening the other day where everything is just as fast as normal, but the market has all but come to a crawl when downloading.

I have tested it out by turning on wifi, and when on wifi i have no problems. So it has to be a network issue. :( I emailed verizon, hopefully i'll get some answers.

Market slowdowns and loss of network connections are common from time to time, stearic.

It's a busy place. ;)

I always thought they should rename it, "Android Bazaar." :D

I moved your thread out of the Verizon area to the Android Lounge for you.

Well i'd prefer it back to the verizon area is it does pertain to only verizon. This seems to be one pertaining only to verizon. And as for this being "common" i'd have to disagree. First time i've had this happen to me. I know it's a network thing as when i do things via wifi i have no problems vs when on 3g.

I think the thread needs to remain here. But a copy of it in Verizon might be a good idea, too. I'll do that now, stearic.

Incidentally, this is a fix posted in the Epic 4G forums, but should apply to other Galaxy S devices experiencing Market issues:

Samsung Galaxy S Market Download and System Restore Fix
Step 1. Go to your settings
Step 2. Select “Applications”
Step 3. Select “Manage Applications”
Step 4.Press left menu and select “filter” then “All”
Step 5. Go and scroll down to following applications and then clear the data
a) Go to “Checkin Service” then select “clear data”
b) Go to “Download Manager” then select “clear data”
c) Go to “Google Apps” then “clear data”
d) Go to “Google Talk Service” then select “clear data”
e) Go to ” Market” then select “clear cache”

Reboot.

There will be some reconfiguring to do afterwards, of course. ;)

I've been having the same issue. I downloaded a 2 mb app and it took at good 5-7 minutes at least. It was very weird. Wifi has no issues though.

Well i've done a full factory refresh on my phone, back to base phone sans any non-stock apps. It was a no-go on anything working. Got a trouble ticket opened up and they're sending out some people to check on the network here.
