Sprint horror story

FWIW, if I went through what you said you've gone through I would jump ship as well! Fortunately, I've had no issues with Sprint though.

Regardless, I wish you the best of luck!!! :)

All - No need to name call or "troll" call. Please consider this the SECOND warning (first warning is the Zero Tolerance policy).

Yes it does... I would have much rather got the phone repaired or replaced and everyone went on about their day....

I didn't ask for all this and I knew posting here would get me called names, put down, doubted, and called a troll....

That's the reason I have tried to keep this as transparent as possible... I have nothing to hide and while some may think my story is hard to believe, it did happen...

I have asked the person I am speaking with now to get the tape, check the transaction records for the time frame this all happened in... It won't be hard to see what customers were in the store at the time, contact them, and ask what happened...

The phone has no water damage as was confirmed today by a different Sprint repair center... The lies, coverups, and the way I was treated is pathetic...

Not to mention the flat out fraudulent notes put on my account by this out of control Sprint store... I was left with a $500 paperweight, I had a Sprint tech in my face yelling at me, I had a bogus note placed on my account, and when investigated, the lies and coverups began...

It may be hard to believe, but it happened... All I want from Sprint now is to waive my ETF's and it looks like that will be what comes of this...

I went through worst with ATT and Verizon.. Stuck because we had a contract and could not leave with out paying ETF on 40 lines.. I will say that stick with it and make sure Sprint gives you what you deserve and more.. Its the same thing across the board with all the providers..

But you story sucks and I hope you have a happy or at least positive out come..

I don't want anyone to get in trouble for calling me a troll or whatever... It's OK.... I understand this is the internet and many times that moniker may apply..

Thanks though :)

They aren't yet. Next time they will be though!

AF strives to avoid the negativity that follows the "typical" internet forum mentality. :)

Thanks... The only acceptable solution for me will be Sprint waiving my ETF's... I had 2 lines that were ported because of this...

If they don't waive both ETF's then I will proceed to the next step which will be the State Attorney General and the BBB... If not resolved via that, then most probably the next step would be small claims court action...

yoru still losing a $500 phone, you are happy and going to accept that?

btw: I dealt with dumbhead sprint reps over 2 years ago, left and haven't come back. IT was pretty clear there was a systemic corruption in this company from the different reps and managers I spoke with trying to resolve my fraudulent problem all covering up for eachother.

My response today

I find it incredibly hard to believe that a representative from the CEO's office has such a hard time reaching store managers...

The Topeka store manager could not be contacted, now the Lawrence manager can not be contacted... I would think a call from the CEO's office would be treated with a little more urgency....

In my honest opinion, this has dragged on long enough... Had I not ported to Verizon I would now be without service for almost a month, simply because the Topeka store lied and then fraudulently attempted to CYA....

Thank you

is it just me or do these store managers take alot of 'vacations'...

I makes me wonder what is really going on....

The Lawrence store told me the phone had no water damage whatsoever and she simply stated that she sent an email to the person she was instructed to email..

Either way, I won't take this laying down.....

Seems like they are avoiding you.

Something is going on... I don't think he is avoiding me because he calls everyday and follows up with an email...

It would not surprise me one bit if they try and get her to change her finding to say something like it may have had water damage ect.... No worries though, I tape recorded the conversation...

I am to the point where if they don't have this resolved by Friday, I will move along to the next step.... The BBB and my State Attorney General's Office...

Not true.... It is legal in Kansas to record a conversation as long as one person that is present know's it's being recorded....

That one person was me....

It is illegal to record a 3rd party conversation without a wiretap or a warrant...

"The 37 states which allow one party consent recording of oral communications are: Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming."

"The 12 states which definitely require all parties to a conversation to consent before it can be recorded are: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Washington. "

"In California, there is an exception. You can record a conversation with the consent of only one party if certain criminal activity (kidnapping, extortion, bribery or a violent felony) is involved."

All recordings in all states where neither party has knowledge require a court ordered warrant.

Thank you for taking the time to speak with me today. As we discussed,
I was able to speak with the store manager of the Lawrence, KS store to
confirm what the technician told you. I have already begun the process
of engaging my management team to see what the options are going
forward. I also understand your statement regarding the larger issue
being how you were treated at the store. All the information I have
gathered will be forwarded to the proper individuals. We understand the
severity of the situation and will deal with it in the proper manner.

Regarding the options we discussed with the Samsung Tab and month of
free service, I will need to bring these options to my management team.
As agree, I will follow up with you Thursday, October 27th. If you have
further questions in the meantime, you may contact me by replying to
this email. I can also be reached on my desk phone at 000-000-0000,
Monday-Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM EST. Thank you for contacting
Dan@Sprint and have a good day!

Sincerely,

If I go back to Sprint... If not, they will waive my ETF's....

That's completely up to them. There is usually a certain time frame you have to return. I'd get a promise in writing if I were you.

I don't think you have read the thread.....

BUT

I am not worried about that one bit.... I think they have seen the video and now have the results from the other store saying the phone is in mint condition... I have all the email(s) and some that were not posted here...

I fully believe at this point that it WILL be resolved one way or another...

Ahh well I live in Michigan which is one of the 12 states which definitely require all parties to a conversation to consent before it can be recorded.

Tell me about it... LOL...

At least my point was proven and the original store that lied and falsified the water damage will have to answer....

Looks like we're finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, now all thats left is to see what they will do to fix the mess they've caused... Tisk Tisk... All they had to do was do their job right the first time and all this could have been avoided. Its truly a shame.

^Agreed (unfortunately). :(

What, it appears, the people at the store didn't realize is that this makes EVERYONE look bad and not just them or their store.

As frustrating as this was for me and as paranoid as I got at times over the possibility of more coverup's, I have to say that Sprint's dan@sprint contact system works...

I am sure there was plenty going on that they would not share with me, the customer... It did take 3 weeks to reach this point but for anyone reading this thread I want to give props to the Sprint review / complaint system...

They honored my request to have the phone inspected at a different store, that store was honest, friendly, and a pleasure to deal with... If I do in fact go back to Sprint I will more than likely use that store, even though it's a 30 minute drive...

Their investigation system obviously worked and again, while it was nerve racking and longer than I wished it to be, the truth did come out in the end...

I will keep this updated with what i end up doing (staying a Verizon or going back to Sprint)

As far as that notation goes, yeah its in the notes, but taking it to another store to get a second opinion would've been my next route, especially if you KNOW that your phone never came into contact with water. They probably put a DBR (Damaged Beyond Repair) notation in E-Ticket which can be removed by an Tech if they see that nothing is physically wrong with the phone.

Just thought I'd throw that out there... Hehehehe... But yea, keep us posted :)
